Why John and Jeanie Adams chose Palm Island
We were looking for a beach getaway and it took a year before we found the perfect place. The search began at the Mississippi river heading east all the time. We didn't want crowded beaches with high-rise apartment buildings all around - we wanted something that was really special. We found it on Don Pedro Island/Palm Island. Get on the car ferry and take the 5 minute crossing of the Intercoastal Waterway and you will know your life has changed. Relax and enjoy the island life. Everyone that comes here just keeps coming back to our unspoiled, uncrowded beaches. Our house is literally "right on the beach" - closer to the water than any other house on Don Pedro. The island has an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty. There are a number of indigenous gopher tortoises, otters, bobcats, bald eagles and rabbits. There is also quite a variety of birds including osprey, pelicans, great blue herons, frigate birds, sea gulls and owls. The beaches are well known for their abundance of sharks' teeth and shells. Also, watch for the India manatees, dolphins, giant manta rays, and blue crabs that swim right off the coast. Don Pedro Island State Park is located on the south end of the island and is accessible by walking the beach. It's the perfect place for a family vacation and I hope you will consider Savannah "C" for your vacation. Our goal is guest satisfaction and comfort.
