Mökki, a Finnish word for cottage, was hand crafted by the owner and is a masterful work of art. Enjoy some down time on the front porch or cozy up in the sleeping loft - this place has a lot of charm.
Surrounding the cabin is a large yard with garden beds and plenty of tree cover.
The cabin sleeps up to 3; there is 1 queen bed in the loft and 1 pull-out futon on the main floor. Please note that the stairs to the bedroom are steep - it is not a ladder so rest assured that the steps can be descended normally, aka by facing forward.
The kitchen is equipped with a two burner electric stove, a mini fridge, a microwave, pots, pans, silverware, dishes and glassware. For your coffee you can choose from a drip cone, french press and a coffee maker.
As guests, you'll have private access to the cabin for the duration of your stay. Grounds keeper will be periodically tending the garden.
A quaint, walkable area, the cabin is nestled just across from the local library and one street away from lake Superior and the old Gunflint Trail road.
The beauty of this cabin lies not only in its charm, but also in its accessible location. Shops, restaurants and the beach are just a short walk from the cabin. You can head up the Gunflint Trail with access to the Boundary Waters by car just minutes from the house.
