One of the best cabins I’ve been too!
This is an awesome cabin. The pictures do not lie! You are literally that close to the river. The hot tub was amazing for those cold November nights. We came up to do a Wine & Woods weekend for a bachelorette party and I am very happy with the weekend. Check out River Hill distillery if you are in the area. I’m definitely renting this cabin again! Would love to come during the summer months. I will be back and I CAN’T wait to be back 😉
Nice place but has pests and dirty
Overall this was a nice place however there was a mouse in the house that was pooping all over the place and coming out and scaring everybody. Especially under the sink it was extremely dirty with mouse feces.
Perfect long weekend
Beautiful property, very clean accommodations, great for a long weekend
Beautiful long weekend!!
Right when we needed it; the perfect get-a-way! We enjoyed our time unwinding and disconnecting from the fast pace. This successful mini-recharge has us looking forward to our next stay in Luray.
Another wonderful stay at Fish Trap
Even though we had a very rainy weekend we still enjoyed our stay. Rain stopped long enough for us to grill our dinner. Once the rain resumed we moved from the deck to the screened in porch with the dining table. Last year we had eight people; this year we had six of us. Plenty of room for us to hang out together on the deck and the screened in porch. Never got to use the hot tub because it kept raining, but it looks like a nice upgrade from the hot tub that was here last year.Despite the near constant rain lately, the grass was mowed and the property looked nice when we arrived. The cabin has all the basics you need: nice towels, a reasonable supply of cooking equipment, lots of firewood, etc. I was pleased to see that management put some fold up bag chairs in the closets. Good to have if you have a large group that enjoys sitting by the fire pit. We would stay here again and we recommend Fish Trap cabin to others.
Wonderful place to get away!
I booked a weekend at Fish Trap as a surprise for my husband't 40th birthday, and it could not have been a better choice! The pictures I saw online looked wonderful, and the property was even better in person! Everything was tailored for a perfect get-away! The view of the river from the deck, the living room and dining room windows, and especially the master bedroom instantly made you feel relaxed. The cabin was immaculately clean, and had everything we needed for a weekend away without having to bring a ton of our own supplies. The linens provided were very comfortable. The kitchen was modern and well equipped. We enjoyed cooking breakfast together each morning, and my husband loved grilling steaks while looking at the river. We took advantage of the fire pit both nights, and the indoor fireplace too. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars without the light pollution of the city was heavenly. When we had trouble finding the correct Wifi password, our inquiry was responded to promptly by both the house manager via text, and bu Shenandoah Rentals via email. Shenandoah Rentals was great to work with! The cabin was also conveniently located to the town of Luray (around 15 minutes), and we were able to have a meal there, get groceries, and visit a local brewery and distillery without having to spend a ton of time traveling to and from the cabin. We are hoping to book another trip here with our children during warmer weather so we can take advantage of the canoes and screened in porch. I highly recommend this gem of a cabin!
