KIHEI KAI NANI - BUILDING NINE - SUITE 175
Our little "Paraiso Privado" (Private Paradise) in Kihei Kai Nani is exactly that -- a sweet, quiet, charming condo in a very private corner of the bustling complex. Yet, the beach is directly across the street where spectacular sunsets await. Shops, restaurants, cafes, delis, spas, nail salons, and many other services are all within walking distance. Hawaiian Ice, anyone? You can walk to the charming kiosk. Whether you find enjoyment among the funky and casual, or prefer the upscale and trendy, this condo location provides both options. The "fishing village" ambience of Kihei is quite the contrast to the manicured golf courses and gated communities of Wailea. Both have their own unique appeal! They are adjacent to each other, and while some of the services Kihei has to offer are within walking distance, all that Wailea has to offer is only a few minutes away! You can jog, or you can drive to resorts, golf courses, boutiques, spas and more!
The condo unit itself is surrounded by tropical foliage, colorful hibiscus, and banana, mango, plumeria and jacaranda trees. Your private lanai provides a peaceful sanctuary after a bustling day of beach activities and island exploring. Exotic birds and island geckos are frequent visitors.
The unit consists of one bedroom with a queen-size bed, and one bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. It is equipped with everything you need to make this "your home" during your stay. The lanai provides a peaceful environment and maximum privacy, since it is situated at the very end of the complex. And, since this condo is a corner unit, it has extra windows that allow Maui's famous trade winds to flow throughout and cool the unit. There is an air conditioner in the living room, and ceiling fans in each room.
The Kihei Kai Nani complex has a shuffleboard, an Olympic-size swimming pool with lounge chairs, and shaded cabanas. There is a barbecue grill and picnic tables a few steps from your front door. There is also a spacious deck in the common area that is available for group events.
We provide beach chairs, umbrella, towels, water toys and coolers for your convenience. In addition, the condo has its own washer/dryer unit!
Not only do we offer beach toys and equipment, we can also provide you with blankets, and other COLD weather items to keep you WARM, if you decide to take a ride to view the sunrise at Haleakala. IT'S FREEZING UP THERE and most visitors do not expect the cold temperatures, or they choose not to go, since they didn't pack their snow gear! Who does, when coming to Maui? No need. We got your covered! Literally.
In addition, we live in Wailuku and will be pleased to provide you with bananas, mangoes, papayas, guavas and other produce from our backyard plantation, depending on harvest availability. We also offer home-made banana breads, along with salsas and pepper jellies made from our Hawaiian habaneros! We are close enough to assist in making your stay a memorable one; yet, far enough away to respect your privacy, and truly make this condo your home away from home. Mi casa es su casa!
Paraiso Privado is special! Truly a private piece of paradise! You won't find anyone peering at you from lanai to lanai, nor do you have frequent passersby walking past the unit. It faces tropical foliage and swaying palms. OH, and those fruit trees! Previous guests have mentioned that the minute they hear a mango drop from the stately tree, they dash for it before the birds make a meal of it. Nothing like a fresh mango smoothie in the morning, or a mango margarita ANYTIME, ha, ha! Every hour is a happy hour in Maui!
Speaking of Happy Hours, if you're up to a night on the town, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Fred's, with its famous Taco Tuesdays, is right next door, along with Moose's, 808 Bistro, and 808 Deli. You can also walk to Café O'lei, Ami Ami, Sarrentos, 5Palms and many other world-famous restaurants. The Shops of Wailea is a 3 minute drive away, and golf courses surround the area. This is an AWESOME location!
Paraiso Privado is truly a sweet little jewel in the midst of a bustling beach area. The perfect getaway for vacation, honeymoon, babymoon, or a solo retreat.
We look forward to your stay in our "Paraiso Privado"! YOUR Private Paradise!

About Yolanda and Miguel Solorio
Miguel was born in Mexico, but lived in San Francisco most of his life, and it is there that we met. I am a native San Franciscan. From the moment Miguel first stepped foot in Hawaii, he was determined to retire here. And so here we are! After having spent a few years in Oahu, we decided to move to Maui. We lived in Kihei for a few years, and then decided to move to a modest home with a good-sized backyard in Wailuku. There we enjoy our mini-plantation that has provided us with various fruits for our daily smoothies and fresh veggies for our BBQ fests. Miguel is an avid runner. He runs 10 miles every morning, as he has for YEARS. He is also a disc golf enthusiast, and plays twice a week at Poli Poli Springs in Kula. I am an independent contractor/management consultant. I am also a defacto tour guide in SF, and now in Maui. We both are foodies and love to dine out as much as we love to "cook in"! Miguel is a retired meat cutter, and I enjoy the culinary arts (my Mother's talent). Upon request, we would love to provide picnic lunches and sunset dinners for your enjoyment! We have an absolutely awesome daughter who is a fitness trainer, and periodically sets up a boot camp in various Maui locations when she visits from SF. Physical fitness is in her genes! My sister lives in Maui as well. She is a Rotarian, and quite the social butterfly! Her husband is a world-class golfer. Among us locals, we can provide you with the best advice and recommendations to make your stay unique and enjoyable. We can have you mingle and talk story with the locals, or assist in growing your social and/or business network. OR we can leave you alone to totally escape and make Paradiso Privado your own home away from home. We love our life here, and can't wait to create wonderful, memorable experiences for you! You never know! Someday, we may be island neighbors! I sincerely hope so. Yolanda Solorio

Why Yolanda and Miguel Solorio chose Kihei
We recently sold our condo in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and decided to invest in a vacation rental in Maui, since we live here. While searching for the perfect unit, we immediately fell in love with the condo previously known as " Our Little Slice of Paradise". It is now our little Paraiso Privado -- YOUR Private Paradise. If we couldn't find the perfect condo with a view, we wanted the perfect condo with privacy. WOW. We found it. No one peering at you from lanai to lanai, nor do you have frequent passersby walking past the unit. It faces tropical foliage and swaying palms. OH and those fruit trees! That's what convinced my husband, Miguel, that this was the right condo for us, that and the fact that its location, location, (did I say location?) is adjacent to every type of service and amenity to make your stay enjoyable.
What makes this Condo unique
I love that we can sit out on the lanai and read or meditate and not be bothered. Yet, if we step out the front door, we can socialize and interact with visitors from around the world. If you're into bird-watching, you will be amazed at the various colorful, tropical birds that frequent the area! OK, yes we do have the noisy Francolins and their famous wake-up call, but if you get a chance to videotape them, you'll really have something interesting to show the folks back home. Then there's our awesome geckos and lizards to amuse you! The geckos are lime green and have the pink polka dots on their backs, and the color-changing lizards will entrance you as they periodically inflate and deflate their throats. Really something to see! Convenience is a key factor here. Gas station, ABC store, shops, services, restaurants are all within WALKING distance! Shaved ice, souvenirs, cafes are all at your feet, not to mention THE BEACH is across the street. And of course, so are those famous sunsets! Despite its diminutive size, this condo has HUGE appeal, and lots to offer. It is a gem and quite the find! We love it, and we know that you will as well!

Absolute perfection, and Yolanda is a true gem!!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay in Yolanda’s and Miguel’s condo! Yolanda had coffee, OJ for our little guy, the absolute BEST home made chocolate banana walnut bread, and fruit basket awaiting our arrival. We instantly felt right at home and Yolanda was always available to answer questions and give recommendations. The condo is equipped with everything you need to feel at home and to be prepared for the beach. It is tucked away with a private, lush patio which is super quiet but still steps away from the bustling S Kihei ‘strip’. Everything you need is within walking distance (even with a jet lagged 4 year old 😉) and with a car you are in the ideal location to adventure around the whole island. We will be back as soon as we can and wouldn’t even consider renting anywhere else. Hands down the best dream vacation we could have asked for! Thanks for everything Yolanda!
Great vacation rental!
Yolanda was very responsive and made sure our stay was straightforward and enjoyable. The condo was lovely with all the amenities we needed. Would love to stay again!
Will, mahalo for your review. Your immediate responses to my inquires allowed me to handle everything via long distance, since I was off island during your stay. I look forward to hosting you and Leslie once again in the future, and just maybe, we'll get a chance to meet! Malama pono, (take care) Yolanda
Awesome location and unit
Awesome unit, with a location within minutes of all the local activities. Owners go to great measures to assure you have everything you need. Unit is at the very back of the complex, so you don't hear the street noise at night. I would have no hesitance to stay in this unit again.
Aloha, Mark and Mechele! Mahalo so much for taking the time to write this review. I am so hau'oli (happy!) that everything was to your satisfaction. I do try to touch base with our guests during their stay to ensure that all is going well, so I appreciated your quick replies and "thumbs up" reassurance. It was a joy hosting you at our Paraiso Privado.! I do hope that you do return to Maui in the near future. When you do, YOUR Private Paradise will definitely be awaiting. Mahalo so much, Mark!
Quiet stay; across the street from the beach
Condo is well-appointed, quiet (for the most part - there's a pesky rooster that starts his day at 4:15am some mornings). Really accessible to the beach, restaurants, coffee shops. Complex is clean and well -maintained. Not a lot of shade at the pool though. The condo owners, Yolanda and Miguel, were very nice and stayed in close contact to see if we needed anything.
Aloha, Nicole! Thank you so much for allowing us to host your stay in paradise. It was our pleasure. Happy Holidays!
All you need in a condo!
I second all the great reviews! This condo has everything that you will need. Fully stocked kitchen (even a rice cooker!), tons of towels, beach gear, 3 different coolers... you name it! We never used the AC, the breeze that ran through the condo was perfect. Yolanda had coffee and banana bread waiting for us on arrival, which made for a relaxing first morning. The location of the condo complex is great, tons of good places to eat nearby. We would love to stay here again! Thanks for making our stay so easy Yolanda! Lauren and Mark
Lauren: It was so much fun interacting with you through the entire planning process. Am so pleased that you enjoyed the fruit, bread and other goodies that we left for you. I empathize with guests booked on late arrivals, so I try to provide a few miscellaneous snacks, so that there is no need to rush out and shop the next day. Maui mornings are meant to be leisurely! We would love to have you return to our little private paradise! A hui hou -- until we meet again, Lauren! Yolanda and Miguel
Yolanda is such a thoughtful host!
We so enjoyed our time at Paraiso Privado. Yolanda is far and away the best VRBO host we have ever had. She was in contact before our visit to make sure she would have everything we needed, and even got a highchair for our toddler! She left treats, including some amazing homemade chocolate banana bread. The condo has beach chairs, towels, and an umbrella all ready for you. The lanai is very private, being at the end of the building, and we saw the local rooster daily. Yolanda also checked in during our stay to make sure we were doing well. I can't say enough about her!
Dear Lynn and family:
Mahalo so much for your kind review. To say that I am flattered is an understatement. I can never take for granted how special it is to live on island, and if I can provide a comfortable and serene home-like environment for my guests, I will go out of my way to do so. After a day of island exploration, I want my guests to look forward to heading "back home" to their private paradise. I love that you embraced Paraiso Privado as your home. Mi casa es su casa! You will always have a home here. Mahalo once again. Yolanda
