About Bill McBlaine
We're outdoor fanatics and love to share our passion for the mountains with others. Whether it's skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, or hiking and backpacking in the summer, Mammoth is one of our favorite places in the world. We've also fallen in love with the spirit of the Mammoth Lakes community, and are fortunate to volunteer for the Disabled Sports Program. We hope you'll check out DSES online or when you visit. It's an incredible organization.
Bill McBlaine purchased this Townhome in 2014
Why Bill McBlaine chose Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort
We both grew up backpacking in the Eastern Sierra in the 1960s, a pretty unusual background and one of the things that immediately drew us together. Buying a place in Mammoth, where we both spend so much time, was a no-brainer. But finding the right unit took some time. We had strict criteria, and knew that this was our mountain home the minute it came on the market. It's south-facing (lots of light!), can accommodate a group of family or friends without feeling crowded, we loved the soaring cathedral ceilings and picture windows, and the complex has a "campus like" feel. In addition, it's within walking distance to old Mammoth, and doesn't require us to ride up a big hill when we finish a day of cycling!

Loved our time in the condo. Just perfect!
My husband and kids and I had a great time. The condo is very spacious, comfortable, and clean. You can tell the owners actually stay at their condo because Its stocked very well, which we really appreciated. (The food items in the pantry were actually in date and not just old, gross stuff left behind by visitors.) Beds and furniture are comfy. Overall great place. (My kids wanted to move in.)
Bill and Margy were easy to deal with and Bill provided us with various day trip itineraries, which was very thoughtful. We’d definitely stay there again.
We truly appreciated the attention to detail and homey feel of Margy & Bill’s condo. It was plenty big with nice separation between 3 floors, with plenty of communal space to enjoy conversation and games near the warmth of the pellet stove. The condo had all of the modern conveniences of home including hi speed WiFi, cable, new appliances etc. The pellet stove kept the mid and upper floors plenty warm and we didn’t really have to use the electric wall heaters at all. Downstairs was a bit chilly but if you keep the bedroom door shut with the heat set to 65 it is very comfortable and bring the space heater into the bathroom to warm it up 10 minutes prior to showering you’re all good. The owners provide a plethora of advice and recommendations on local activities and dining. I am inspired by their appreciation of the area - it’s absolutely beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back regularly!
Great Location, Great Stay!
Stayed here with my daughter over spring break, and had a fantastic time! The condo is centrally located and close to town, shopping, and restaurants. It was immaculately maintained, and had everything we needed during our stay, and the owners were great to work with. Fireplace and TV with soundbar were a nice bonus. We would definitely come back!
So glad you had some great daddy-daughter time. Both of our dads introduced us to Mammoth when we were kids - some of our best childhood memories!
Great condo and awesome location!
The condo and location was perfect for us. Definitely would come stay again.
We look forward to your return visit!
Awesome condo but TV/Internet Issues
This place is great for a couple or a couple with 2-3 kids! The location is OUTSTANDING and the condo was clean and stocked with everything. We had a MASSIVE snow storm before we arrived, and while we where there. Yes that was super cool, however the terrible cable/internet company could not restore service before and while we were there. No internet and no TV....They said the cable box was buried in snow and couldn't get to it. It was a HORRIBLE burden since my husband and I both brought work to do. We decided to leave the kids at home to ski and work, well with no internet and snowing on Saturday, we didn't accomplish much. I must say, Bill, the owner was upset by this as well. He took so many actions to try to resolve the issue. He sent many many emails not only apologizing but offering solutions. Again, not his fault and he was such a gentleman to respond to all my silly emails. All and all the trip was great, you won't be disappointed in this place. We'll probably return (but the drive from Vegas to Mammoth is HAIRY!) The images on the website represent well, no surprises, very easy to park and enter. One suggestion to the owner, tile the bathrooms, carpet is not very sanitary. Five star all the way, thank you for having us! Jeanne & Aaron
Thanks Jeanne, for understanding that we didn't have control over the situation, and for recognizing all of our efforts to remedy the situation. We're really sorry that the back to back storms knocked out internet and cable service during your stay. Thanks also for your suggestions about the bathroom. We have an ongoing debate about which is better - tile makes more sense for much of the year, though it's very cold underfoot during the winter months. But we're planning to remodel the bathrooms over the next couple of years, so it's likely that you'll see something different when you come back!
