Located in a Historic District on the Slope above Downtown San Diego, this beautiful Queen Ann Victorian accommodates up to 5 guests. This unit is completely private with a separate entry, living space, 2 bedrooms and kitchen. No expense was spared in the design of this highly upgraded unit which features an exterior deck with BBQ and views of the ocean, Coronado Bridge and the islands off the coast. The living area features a full size leather sofa bed, LED smart TV, dining table and chairs and ceiling fan. The kitchen is beautifully upgraded complete with everything you will need to cook your own meals during your stay with us. The bathroom is brand new, separate from the bedrooms and equipped with plenty of plush towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a blow dryer. There is a Queen bed in the Master bedroom and Full size bed in the second bedroom. Both beds have memory foam mattresses which are very comfortable and each has a ceiling fan and air conditioner. The unit also features a large storage space containing boogie boards, beach towels and chairs, make-up mirror, a high chair for the little ones and an iron and board. An additional LED smart TV is located in the Master bedroom with cable access and streaming capability. Both televisions also come with free Netflix access. The unit is beautifully decorated in a modern classic design. Our property is located 5 minutes driving distance to the Convention Center, Gas Lamp district, Ball Park, Coronado Island, the Airport, Balboa Park and the Zoo. Freeway access is located around the corner and bus stop transits to and from downtown can be found within a block. All local beaches are within easy driving distance of the property. Some of Golden Hill’s most popular spots such as the Turf Club, Panchitas Bakery, Krakatoa Coffee Shop, Luigi's Pizza and Golden Hill Park are all within easy walking distance. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and Coronado Bay Bridge views from the patio table and chairs provided on the front porch. There is an on-site coin operated laundry so check for the coins, laundry detergent and fabric softener tissues we provide in the unit as a complimentary gift and our way of saying thank you. Instant Booking - This unit has a Queen size bed in the large bedroom and a Full size bed in the second bedroom. Both beds have memory foam mattresses. There is additionally a Full size pull out sofa bed in the living area with an airbed mattress. While this unit is designed to accommodate 5 Guests, it could be a bit challenging if they are all adults. We want to be sure this arrangement will be comfortably accommodate your group.

About John Reardon

I grew up in Northampton Massachusetts, a town with countless beautiful old homes and lots of woods. I spent countless days in my youth building tree forts never knowing that those 2 dynamics would intersect at this point. Upon arriving in San Diego with an interest in building and purchasing real estate, I became immediately interested in the largely neglected Victorian buildings in this area of town. This property became a labor of love for me many years ago and I hope that legacy will be carried forward by my 3 sons. My wife if Japanese, so our family often divides our time between 2 very different worlds, both with much to offer.

Notes:
This is a multi-unit Victorian with completely private and self contained units similar to condominiums. We will be installing a gazebo with table in chairs and lights as well as a fire pit in the rear yard. As that is a work in progress, we have reduced the reservation price to reflect that reality in an effort to be fair to our guests. There are no noise issues affecting our Guests due ongoing upgrades.

Excellent! Very clean.

The unit was conveniently located to everything San Diego - we took Uber's to Balboa Park, the zoo and downtown. The beds were comfortable. Loved that there were enough towels for our stay as well as coffee and tea for our use.

Apartment was very clean and kitchen well appointed for how small it is.

Couch needs to be replaced as cushions are quite worn.

Neighborhood is urban and loud at night.

Owner's Response: A recent Guest damaged the couch cushions on a virtually new couch that was purchased to specifically fit this unit. This particular model is no longer available so we have been actively looking for a replacement model which has been challenging.

Great accomodations and host

We really enjoyed our stay at John’s property. It was very bright, clean and well laid out. John was very quick to respond to any questions I had and his recommendations for places to visit and dine at were spot on. Our family really enjoyed the pizza at pizzeria Luigi just down the street. I inquired about which beach to visit and John promptly responded with 2 different itineraries of places we may enjoy exploring. We followed one of them and were very pleased with the day we had including his suggestions for meals! I would very much recommend this rental to anyone visiting San Diego in the future!

Cute lol cottage

We had a great time here. It was a bit smaller than expected but it worked for our lil stay. The area seemed a bit sketchy but it was all good. The location was close to everything we wanted to do and John, the owner, was extremely easy to get a hold of and really nice.

Owner's Response: Just wanted to offer that we have owned this property for nearly 25 years and have never experienced a crime related issue. Prices in this area are now extremely expensive based on its proximity to Downtown San Diego and its excellent livability. Our young children have been at our property countless times over the years and we have never felt unsafe in any way at any time.
