We had such an amazing stay! The home was beautiful and fully equipped for a perfect getaway. We loved taking the kayaks out on the lake and exploring the area, especially the garlic festival nearby. What truly stood out was the hosts’ kindness and hospitality. When I accidentally dropped my phone in the lake, they personally came by to check on us and make sure we were still enjoying our stay. Their thoughtful communication and genuine care made us feel so welcome. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts and can’t wait to return!
The house is perfect!! It has everything you could need during a get away! We were able to enjoy the kayaks and the different games during rainy days. It is ideal for big families.
The property worked great for us. There were 4 adults and 2 children. Nice location in the Kingston area. Will definitely consider staying there again next time we visit with family. Kids had fun playing on the river. Plenty of space in the home. Owner was friendly and readily available when needed.

We had a wonderful time staying here. The weather was clear so we were able to enjoy the kayaking and swimming off the dock. Quiet property and had a lovely time.

Beth and her family were excellent guests! We would not hesitate to recommend them to other hosts. They are welcome back to Cozy Valley Escape anytime!
We are seven friends in town for a wedding. The house surpassed our expectations- clean, comfortable and warmly decorated with so many unexpected extras. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful.
Wish we could have stayed longer!

It was a pleasure meeting some of you while you were in town for a wedding at the Senate Garage. If you should ever return to the area, you are welcome to stay in our home!
Close enough to rhinebeck (20min) to pick up family members from NYC. Great for outdoor activities such as light kayaking, biking on rail trails and over the hudson, walking around Opus 40 and plenty of antiquing and brewery stops
We rented for a month and this property was exactly as described. It felt like a very well cared for home. Kathy was available to us, from recommendations for restaurants to walking trails.
The river access and water “toys” made this the perfect vacation for people of all ages. I would definitely recommend this property.
The property was just as described with so many extras. It was very peaceful and quiet but so much to do. We used the kayaks several times and the tubes on the water. Played corn hole a lot! Host we very responsive in a very positive manner. Was just a GREAT "staycation". Will go back again.

Opening your home to strangers is always a worry, but hosting Kim and her family
is what makes it so gratifying. They were wonderful guests in every way; respectful, pleasant and friendly!
We hope they come back to our (and now their) Cozy Valley Escape!
Stayed here for a few nights for a family get together with my siblings. We're all grown, but still kids at heart, so it was very fun to find this place stocked with board games and kayaks and all sorts of things to do. The hostesses, Kathy and Sue, had all sorts of helpful information in a guide book. It was very sweet, I could tell that they really cared about making us feel welcome. I feel like my family and I stayed at a home and I couldn't have asked for more!
What a lovely place! Kathy was so welcoming and added some thoughtful touches to our visit, including delicious cinnamon bread from Bread Alone bakery. Delish! We loved taking the kayaks on the Esophus for a paddle. The porch was a perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!

It was lovely to meet Kate and family. We do hope to have the opportunity to host them again as they were wonderful guests!
The hosts really thought of everything to make guests comfortable. My kids loved being on the water and having access to the paddle boat especially. We adults appreciated all of the thoughtfulness the hosts put into our stay (comfortable beds, updated linens, toys and games available, fresh eggs in the fridge, etc). We also appreciated that they included recommendations for local restaurants and activities. Overall, a cozy and well-appointed house! Would love to come back!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home. We do hope your family has the opportunity to return!
We came up from TN for our nephew's wedding & this house was in the perfect spot for our stay. We had 1 small issue with the door lock which was addressed within minutes by Kathy. The only thing I was upset about was I forgot my fishing gear! If we ever get back to this area this will be the 1st place we look for.

It was a pleasure hosting your family. Come back anytime! -Kathy
This was wonderful! The back yard was manicured and huge, big enough to play Bocci. The peddle boat was fun, and the kids fished from the dock. The house has foosball and lots of games to keep kids happy. The house isn't air conditioned (there are window units in the bedrooms) but we didn't need it even though it was 89 one day. The house is comfortable and kid friendly. There's so much available to do, although we stayed close because of the pandemic. We did hike and there are lots of options. We will definitely go back!!

We are so glad your family enjoyed our home. We do hope you have the opportunity to return!
We just stayed at Kathy and Sue’s house and it was the perfect antidote to the pandemic. We had space and nature and went boating and hiking every day (there are three kayaks and a canoe). The house was immaculate and well-appointed, with toiletries and signs on everything. My almost 10 year old son loved sitting on the dock, looking out at the water.
My favorite spot in the house was the sun porch. It is enclosed and very bright, allowing me to work or take calls, while looking at the creek.
We grilled at night and ate meals outside. We were enjoying the house so much that I texted Kathy to stay an additional night - I’ve never done that! We look forward to visiting again!

Thank you for your kind words about our home. You and your family were excellent guests. I truly appreciate the exceptional care you took of our home. Your the type of guest that makes my job as a host so pleasant. You’re welcome to return anytime!
I stayed here for a few days with friends and their two tweens - the adults had some work to do (wedding planning!) and the kids are bottomless wells of creativity and energy, and we allll love food- Kathy's lovely family home had exactly what we needed! The kids cycled through water sports, fishing, RC boats (thank you for that!), badminton, board games and more while we adults joined for the occasional kayak.
We preferred the excellent grill to the elderly electric stove for meals. The kitchen was well equipped with good pans, grill tools, anything we needed. We were met with a welcome gift of the most delicious cinnamon bread... ever?
The entire place was spotless! It's an older property right on a lake, though, and i think a couple of air purifiers would help with some mustiness in a few places where even the most diligent cleaning can't reach.
Beds were comfy, nights were quiet except for crickets, and it was cool enough that we could just keep the windows open for the lovely breeze. We slept well, enjoyed our days (that sunporch is a dream) and would love to stay again.
Where to begin. My sister-in-law and I (both seniors) were so pleasantly surprised with this lovely home. Lake Katrine was like a vacation at home, away from home. The house sits on a beautiful lake and our hostess was the best. There was a loaf of cinnamon bread and a dozen eggs waiting for us when we arrived. There is pretty much everything you could need at the house for any age group. The kitchen is well stock with anything you could need to cook there. Appliances, pots, pans and dishware. There are board games, hula hoops, a foosball game, canoes, kayaks and a peddle boat (life jackets are provided). There was a crib and highchair, books for all ages along with games for toddlers to adults. The location is 1/2 mile in from the main road on a dead end street so there is a lot of privacy. So much to do in the area. We found great local towns to visit (Woodstock, Kingston and Saugerties), wineries and antique shops. A highlight was dinner at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Reservations are a must. Kathy, our hostess, was available when needed but not at all intrusive. It was one of the very best vacation spots we have had the fortune to visit.
