Enjoy the sound of the Waterfall right off the back deck

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-11)

This dramatic custom designed home is situated at above 3000 feet elevation, it overlooks a rushing creek, and a small waterfall, both situated on the property. You can access the creek from the stairs cut into the hillside, or just sit on the terrace above the falls. The large back deck is situated above the road, and gives a panoramic view of the treetops. The firepit is perfect for an evening marshmellow roast. The creek is suitable for wading, and the melody of the rushing water provides for many a relaxing afternoon. There is an area suitable for swimming and sliding less than 2 miles from the house.

The back deck is ideal for outdoor dining, or just relaxing after a busy day. Our guests often comment that while we are a little out of the way, the peace and quiet and serenity at the end of the day is well worth it.

The home is ideally situated. We are 7 miles off of the Smokey Mountain Expressway, which provides easy access to many attractions. Some local attractions include Nantahala Rafting, Zip lining, Deep Creek Tubing, Great Smoky Mountain RR, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Lake Fontana, Bryson City, Cherokee, Dillsboro, Sylva, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley. Other destinations within 1 to 2 hours drive, including Pigeon Forge, TN, Gatilinburg, TN, and Ashville, NC.

About Linda Carter

We are Kenny and Linda Carter from Crawfordville, Florida. We love to travel whenever we get the chance.

Linda Carter purchased this house in 2005

Why Linda Carter chose Smoky Mountains

The sound of the waterfall is what sold us on this vacation home, It is quiet & secluded, and the melody of the water can be heard in the bedrooms,

The Bryson City location is central to many activities.

What makes this house unique

This home was a custom designed home. It has slate floors in the foyer & kitchen, tile floors in the baths. There is rustic wood paneling and catherdral ceilings in the livingroom. Most of our guests comment on how restful it is, and everyone enjoys the creek & falls.

Wonderful place up on the mountain

  • 4 of 5

This is very peaceful and pleasant place to spend some time. We only stayed for a few days and wish we had longer. Although smaller than expected the babbling creek on property is nice. Waterfall sound was lovely at night as you can hear it from bedroom with doors open The house has everything needed to feel at home. It is very spacious and could easily house more people comfortably but also was nice and cozy for just the two of us and our dog. We only used master bed , kitchen , living room and outside porches Not utilizing the other bedroom or large den area. This house could easily be big enough for six adults. We really enjoyed deck, yard, cooking out on charcoal grill and hopping rocks in creek which I was able to enjoy with my dog. It is nice to have a pet friendly rental. Area very close to things once you come down the mountain...It is a good ways about 20 min to get up to cabin from turn off. We explored Bryson City, Cherokee and surrounding areas in daytime and made sure we were back up to cabin by dark because I prefer not to drive mountainous roads at night. Very quite except for occasional cars riding up the mountain past the house. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in area and don't mind a scenic drive home everyday.

Wonderful & Fabulous! Loved the creek & water falls!!

  • 5 of 5

A slice of heaven! Private. Away from town, up the mountain! Fabulous creek and waterfalls! Wonderful deck to enjoy the mountain air! The home is stocked with household items needed and as described. We loved our stay... didn't want to leave!! This property is about 20 minutes away from town, up the mountain, exactly what we wanted. The roads getting to the property are fine for any car, suv, truck. We Loved It!!

Relaxing family getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is clean and cozy, not overly fancy. All the necessities are provided, along with some extras, like condiments in the fridge, coffee, and shampoo. It was very comfortable for 6 people. It can sleep more on the pullout couches if needed. Bring some charcoal if you want to grill. It is a pretty area, but know that it's 15 minutes to the grocery store. It's not close to all the touristy places, but there is tubing, kayaking, ziplining, etc. close by. The creek and waterfall are lovely. The kids and dog enjoyed splashing around. We wanted a quiet, relaxing vacation, so this was perfect!

All the comforts of home enveloped by the sights and sounds of mountain nature.

Felt at home immediately upon entering and that sense of comfort never left us. Loved the sound of the rushing creek especially at night as it lulled us to peaceful slumber. Looking forward to another visit to Falls Melody!

A great place to relax and spend quality family time.

  • 5 of 5

We were excited to spend some time away from the Florida heat and this vacation rental exceeded our expectations. The creek/water fall was so relaxing that we chose to spend most of our time at the house. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed which was a pleasant surprise since it appeared to have a queen. The family room is huge and the kitchen is well stocked. The house was very clean with an abundance of linens. Thank you Linda for allowing our 2 German Shepherds! They loved the creek and the weather as much as we did. We will be back.

Very comfortable house and location. A little ways out from town but well worth the drive!

  • 5 of 5

This property was very clean, very accessible from the road, and well-maintained. Even though it was a little far from town, once you got used to it it was not bad to drive. It is well located to visit Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee, and the surrounding area. Very beautiful view and location. There is no cell phone service at the house but there is a Phone for use. I would highly recommend at this property. It rained the whole time I while I was there but certainly that's not the owners fault!
