'FALLS MELODY'

This dramatic custom designed home is situated at above 3000 feet elevation, it overlooks a rushing creek, and a small waterfall, both situated on the property. You can access the creek from the stairs cut into the hillside, or just sit on the terrace above the falls. The large back deck is situated above the road, and gives a panoramic view of the treetops. The firepit is perfect for an evening marshmellow roast. The creek is suitable for wading, and the melody of the rushing water provides for many a relaxing afternoon. There is an area suitable for swimming and sliding less than 2 miles from the house.

The back deck is ideal for outdoor dining, or just relaxing after a busy day. Our guests often comment that while we are a little out of the way, the peace and quiet and serenity at the end of the day is well worth it.

The home is ideally situated. We are 7 miles off of the Smokey Mountain Expressway, which provides easy access to many attractions. Some local attractions include Nantahala Rafting, Zip lining, Deep Creek Tubing, Great Smoky Mountain RR, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Lake Fontana, Bryson City, Cherokee, Dillsboro, Sylva, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley. Other destinations within 1 to 2 hours drive, including Pigeon Forge, TN, Gatilinburg, TN, and Ashville, NC.

About Linda Carter

We are Kenny and Linda Carter from Crawfordville, Florida. We love to travel whenever we get the chance.

Linda Carter purchased this house in 2005

Why Linda Carter chose Smoky Mountains

The sound of the waterfall is what sold us on this vacation home, It is quiet & secluded, and the melody of the water can be heard in the bedrooms,

The Bryson City location is central to many activities.

What makes this house unique

This home was a custom designed home. It has slate floors in the foyer & kitchen, tile floors in the baths. There is rustic wood paneling and catherdral ceilings in the livingroom. Most of our guests comment on how restful it is, and everyone enjoys the creek & falls.

All the comforts of home enveloped by the sights and sounds of mountain nature.

Felt at home immediately upon entering and that sense of comfort never left us. Loved the sound of the rushing creek especially at night as it lulled us to peaceful slumber. Looking forward to another visit to Falls Melody!

A great place to relax and spend quality family time.

  • 5 of 5

We were excited to spend some time away from the Florida heat and this vacation rental exceeded our expectations. The creek/water fall was so relaxing that we chose to spend most of our time at the house. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed which was a pleasant surprise since it appeared to have a queen. The family room is huge and the kitchen is well stocked. The house was very clean with an abundance of linens. Thank you Linda for allowing our 2 German Shepherds! They loved the creek and the weather as much as we did. We will be back.

Very comfortable house and location. A little ways out from town but well worth the drive!

  • 5 of 5

This property was very clean, very accessible from the road, and well-maintained. Even though it was a little far from town, once you got used to it it was not bad to drive. It is well located to visit Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee, and the surrounding area. Very beautiful view and location. There is no cell phone service at the house but there is a Phone for use. I would highly recommend at this property. It rained the whole time I while I was there but certainly that's not the owners fault!

All the arrangements were great...the only problem we faced was dumping the trash...as the dump yard was far off and was closed till 1 pm the sunday.

Quiet and Charming!

  • 5 of 5

We were lucky enough to visit in October, and the leaves were gorgeous! The waterfall was simply charming. We are frequent travelers, and found this property to be incredibly well-stocked. From linens to condiments to kitchen equipment, everything was ready and waiting. Thanks for the hospitality!

A great place for a vacation in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with the cabin. It was comfortable, clean, well-furnished and just what we had been looking for. There were no surprises as the listing description was very accurate. The deck across the back and the screened porch on the front allowed us to spend many hours enjoying the outside. The falls provided a constant melody that was soothing to the soul. At first it seemed rather far from Bryson City and other destinations, but soon we discovered we enjoyed the drive to and from the cabin and being in the woods away from it all. We would definitely enjoy returning to this cabin another time.
