We had a great stay at the Firehouse! It was a perfect location for our group and very well kept inside. Kim was very accommodating and responsive! We did a wine tour with Stompin’ Good Times around Seneca Lake and then came back to the house to hang out for a bit and have dinner. The location was key becusss we were able to safely walk to some breweries/bars that night! We hope to be back again soon!
Great place centrally located
Great place to stay but needs to disclose there are 25 steps that you need to master first. had a 78 year old guest with us that thank God was in good shape. Also would be good to have a place to unpack your close to (maybe a dresser)
This is the perfect location for a group of girls to hang out, very roomy and clean. I would book again for my high school friends. If you want privacy (couples) you won't really have it here, very open concept. My only problem was lack of towels, only one bath towel was left out for each guest, no hand towels or wash clothes. I would suggest that you bring your own towels and of course anything else you'll need as far as toiletries. We only stayed one night so we didn't use much of the kitchen supplies. Walking distance to Main Street Canandaigua and other locations. Kim was helpful and responsive. Remember you are walking up 25 or so stairs to get to the loft, no big deal for us but may be for some.
Great girls weekend!
We had a lovely girls’ weekend at this property. It is right off the main drag in downtown Canandaigua and easily walkable to tons of shops and restaurants. The home was exactly as described. Kitchen and living areas were well appointed and beds were very comfortable with linens and towels provided. Check in and check out instructions were clear and a breeze. Host was communicative via text and replied quickly. Would recommend and stay again. There are stairs to access the loft, so this rental is not ADA accessible, but the stairwell is safe with railings.
Very Enjoyable Stay!!
Overall this was a great experience for 4 old college friends coming together to play some golf over a 4 day period. We had done the same gathering three years ago as the Rochester area is centrally located to the homes of the guys in our group (Boston, Cleveland, Wilmington DE, and Albany), but we stayed last time at a hotel nearer to I-90. This was definitely a better choice in terms of space and convenience to the golf courses we wanted to play. Kim was very nice and responsive to any of our questions about check-in and parking etc... The Firehouse was plenty big enough for our size group and the location was centrally located (15 to 25 minutes) to 3 great golf courses that we played at each day. We walked most nights to dinner as the main street of Canandaigua was right around the corner with some interesting shops and restaurants. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous you can walk down to the northern tip of Lake Canandaigua which is a little over a mile straight down Main St. (we got some ice cream from Abbot's and enjoyed the view of the lake from the park across the street). As noted by other reviewers the restored space has open lofted sleeping areas except for one bedroom that is closed off, so if you have some snoring guests or need more privacy, you will want to take that into consideration. I would suggest one minor improvement (and maybe this is a guy thing).....although there were three nice size flat screen TVs (one in the living room and one each in the two downstairs bedrooms), the cable package on these was the bare minimum basic service you can get (local stations and a few others.....no ESPN, CNN etc.....). I'm not suggesting an elaborate package with movie channels etc..., but watching Sports Center or a Yankee/Red Sox game on ESPN (as we wanted to do)..... and few other channels that you would find at a basic hotel would suffice.
Overall we had a great time and we would definitely stay here again if our get together returns to this area.
I can't say enough-clean and beautiful space, great location
