Sandy Shores 205 Gulf Front Corner Condo

205 is a one bedroom/one bathroom gulf front condo located in Sandy Shores on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico in Madeira Beach, Florida. This condo has a large dining and living room area with tile floors that open out to the private balcony where the view of the beach and gulf is spectacular. A large flat screen TV is in the living room along with free internet and WiFi.

The kitchen is equipped with updated appliances and cabinets filled with dishes, cookware and utensils. The bedroom has two queen beds, large dresser, flat screen TV and walk- in closet.

Bed linens and bath towels are provided for up to 4 guests in the condo.

Coin operated laundry is available on each floor.

Come and enjoy the beautiful beach and the attractions which include John's Pass Village and Boardwalk with its many shops, cafes, restaurants, fishing charters directly across the street from our condos, via a protected crosswalk. This is a non smoking accommodation.

There is one assigned parking spot available for this unit.

This property is right on the beach and a very short walk to John’s Pass Village. The unit itself has cold AC, hot water, and the kitchen/living room is very inviting and functional. However, all of the furniture is extremely old and uncomfortable and the bedroom/beds are very subpar. I would recommend bringing an air mattress to set up in the living room and definitely bring your own linens/towels. The view from the balcony is amazing and bringing a few items from home will definitely make a more comfortable stay.

The location and view are awesome. Pool and beach are great and very convenient. The condo is nice but is in need of updating. The living room blinds were broken and bathroom shower curtain rod/hooks are rusty. A deep cleaning and a few inexpensive updates would make this a much better condo. Property management responsiveness needs improvement.

No kitchen towels, minimal amount of cookware, note to push freezer door after opening fridge. Beach view great but none of blinds worked. Bath clogged sink, mildew on shower curtain, no vent, toilet kept running until wiggled handle. Dust thick on chain and wire for bedroom fan. Water marks on ceiling. Tried 3 times to see property manager during their working hours but office doors locked. Great location, though!

Awesome views

Fabulous!!!!! Wish we could have checked out later but thank goodness we could stay at the pool! This has been the best scenic views by far from all of the places we have stayed. The location is fabulous everything within walking or trolley. I always get a rental car which makes it twice as nice. Thank you guys for offering such a wonderful place to stay!!!!

Friends beach vacation

The view was incredible. It was a corner unit directly facing the gulf. It was nice to have an ice maker in the freezer. I would definitely book this unit again.

Good experience

The condo was nice, as was the pool & beach area. It's an older building but the unit has clearly been renovated & maintained. There were some cleaning misses, but that's on the cleaning service, not the host. I'd stay there again.

Beautiful view

Condo was as shown in listing. Door was warped, so after it was unlocked it needed to be lifted to open. Spent most of the time on the balcony enjoying the view!

This room has very serious issues. The entire unit smells musty & will affect your breathing because it has black mold in the vents. The bathroom sink clogs quickly & barely drains. The blinds in the living room are severely broken in more ways than 1 and the broken slats are laying behind the couch. Lamps in the living room are broken. HUGE stain on the bedroom closet ceiling, looks to be mildew. Terrible conditions especially for the amount of money. Host was contacted twice and photos were sent, never received a reply. Sad that a unit with a nice view is in such terrible condition. This place has been severely neglected and is going to make someone very ill. Had planned on leaving and sleeping somewhere else, but the weather changed so was able to turn AC off and open patio door to get fresh air in and slept on the couch to get away from the moldy air vents.

Mold on bathroom air vent.
Patio blinds when closed. Missing several slats, which are located on floor behind couch.

Great location

The view is amazing being able to sit on balcony for sunset is so worth it the condo is starting to date itself a little the kitchen is up graded and a new dishwasher was put in while we were there there was alot of dust on things that the cleaning staff missed but overall it was great i would not hesitate to go here at all its not the top of the line but the location is amd views are worth it i was skeptical after reading some reviews but i am glad i stuck with it the beach is right at your doorstep and the grounds are well taken care of

Just okay

The on line photos were spot on what the property looked like and the sunset views over the Gulf are amazing. However, the condo is very outdated (blinds in living room are broke and can’t be used, new lighting, beds, and bathroom much needed). The fact that no beach gear or towels are provided is very inconvenient for those who fly. No broom provided to sweep up sand that is tracked in through the week. Overall, the condo is okay just needs many updates.

Badly in need of maintenance

Never received email or text for codes to enter the property and room. I had to call John's pass at 4:30 PM to get information on how to enter the condo.Condo smelt like mold and mildew. Handle on sliding balcony door broken.Floors were very dirty.Blinds in living room, we're broken.Carpet in bedroom Was old and nasty when you walked on the carpet, it made a crunching sound. The beds/ mattresses had big dips in the middle, hard to sleep on. Furniture in living room was old and dirty.Very unhappy with my stay place was disgusting.

Christmas getaway

Location is fantastic. Spectacular sunset and beach views. Unit was not very clean. Stove did not work and was not fixed during our stay. Toaster did not work. D/W did not clean. Limited kitchen utensils and cooking gear. Area around unit, pool, pool deck, garage were kept very nice and tended to everyday.

Review 205

Excellent location with a beautiful view of the Gulf. Overall the condo was nice but it needs a few things addressed. It’s definitely time for new mattresses and the blinds are in rough shape and pretty much inoperable which prior reviews indicated. The floors were definitely not that clean and there’s no vacuum in the unit. Also the toilet seat is ancient and needs to be replaced. That being said I would definitely stay there again even without the much needed changes.

John's Pass 2024

Was not impressed. The photos are very old. The entry door was very hard to get in and out of. It has to be lifted in order to clear the threshold. The slider door only has an inside handle, so you had to leave door partially open to get back in. The air did not work properly. The mattress needed to be changed. Furniture was very comfortable and the the unit was clean. It would be helpful to have some kind of tv listing for the tv. Necessities were very well provided. Will not be staying in this unit again.

Wish it were bug and dust free! The views were awesome!

There was dust on pictures walls even the ceiling almost like staying in an authentic haunted house without the ghost. There were ants so bad that even after wiping down the counters if you place anything on the counter within seconds there would be tiny little ants all over your item. We ended up eating out every meal so we didn’t have to use the kitchen or chance ants getting in our foods. The beach is really close and the views from the balcony are fantastic! Do not chance turning the ceiling fan on it’s about ready to fall out of the ceiling. I wish someone would’ve took more care of the place because with just a little clean up and pest control this would’ve been a fantastic place to stay!

Just ok. Not great.

So my wife and I stayed here for a week in early August 2022. I'll start with the good stuff and move on to the not so good. Pros. The location is perfect. Right across the street from John's Pass, you really have everything you need/want right here The view from the condo was awesome and access to the beach was great. The condo itself has much to be improved on. The air conditioning work well and the shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. The pool area was really nice too.. That pretty much sums up the good unfortunately. Cons. The beds were very uncomfortable. From the mattress to the sheets and pillows, it was pretty bad. The bath towels were pretty much sandpaper. The toilet paper they supplied almost dissolved upon application, not cool. The water pipes made a terrible noise the entire stay and the toilet had problems and needs new internals I opened the utility closet and the air filter was so dirty I removed it. Gross. No hand soap, paper towels or dish soap was provided. There was one tablet for the dishwasher provided. Now to the living room. First off, the furniture in the entire place was ols and in poor condition. The couch, recliner and love seat were so gross we actually put a sheet over them so we could sit down. The TV was probably one of the first foat screens ever made. It was small, not a smart TV. No DVDs or movies could be watched. Pretty crappy. All In all the location and views were great, but the condo itself was not.

View is best feature

The view from this corner unit is great but the unit itself is very worn. The vertical blinds in the living area are completely damaged and missing pieces but we were able to gently move them by hand. Unit was clean at check in but no basics were provided - no dish soap or hand soap in bath, a few remaining paper towels on a roll. Plenty of toilet paper. Only 3 bath towels provided for a family of 4. The toilet ran constantly but flush was ok. Chain got stuck once. Refrigerator is noisy as were water pipes in the walls. Light fixtures rusted. Only occupied for 2 nights so just made do. Pool area has plenty of seating and some nice shade areas, pool bath had no toilet paper. I have rented VRBO properties for the past 10 years and this unit does not make the grade. I would suggest looking for a different unit in this complex.
