3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 8
Favored by Fortune is aptly named. As you gaze out from the 3-bedroom log cabin toward the Great Smoky Mountains you’ll feel privileged to be surrounded by such natural splendor. But the spectacular setting is only one reason Favored by Fortune is such a glorious place to make your home away from home. The spacious lodge is beautifully furnished and offers such luxuries as an outdoor hot tub, an indoor jetted tub, air hockey, and in the summer, free access to a nearby swimming pool.
Favored by Fortune has a bathroom and a bedroom on each of its 3 floors. The spacious master suite, which makes up the entire loft level, is nothing short of stunning. Along with a king-size bed and a TV, it has a sitting area and a desk, ideal for catching up on emails or surfing the web via the free WiFi to plan your next day’s adventures. And wait till you see the view you’ll wake up to, courtesy of the panoramic windows! The en-suite bathroom boasts a jetted tub, which you’ll especially appreciate when you return from a day of hiking, skiing, or white water rafting.
The other 2 bedrooms each have a queen-size bed, a TV, and like the rest of the cabin, lustrous wood-planked walls, floors, and ceilings. If you have additional guests, the daybed in the downstairs game room includes a trundle bed, so that 2 more people can sleep there; Favored by Fortune can accommodate 8 guests in all. And given that the game room has an air-hockey table, its own TV, and a kitchenette complete with mini fridge, sleeping there is far from a hardship!
While the game room has its own dining area, a larger dining table is on the main floor. Up to 6 people can sit here, in chairs so comfortably padded you’ll want to linger long after dessert is over. The main floor also has the advantage of oversize windows that enable you to savor the beauty of the mountains and woodlands while you dine or kick back in the living area. The living area’s sofa and armchairs are as comfy as they are elegant—perfect for watching a movie on the flat-panel TV, playing charades, or enjoying an après-ski drink by the fireplace.
Along with 3 floors, Favored by Fortune has 3 decks that span the width of the cabin. There’s plenty of seating for savoring the fresh mountain breeze and the sight of falcons and eagles soaring through the seemingly endless skies. You can dine at the deck’s patio table too, as well as cook alfresco on the charcoal grill. Mmm, barbecue!
The hot tub on the lower deck, however, might become your favorite spot for soaking up the sights and sounds of the Smoky Mountains. It’s especially magical at night, as crickets and owls serenade you in the moonlight.
Favored by Fortune is so restful, you may find it tough to pry yourself away. But you’ll definitely want to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park while you’re here—and it’s only minutes away. There you can hike among waterfalls, fish for trout (perfect for cooking on the grill!), go biking or horseback riding… why you could easily spend every day exploring the park! But then you’d be missing out on the attractions and amusements of downtown Gatlinburg (just a 10-minute drive away!), golf, Dollywood, Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park & Ski Area, and in the summer, the free community swimming pool.
When you stay here, you really will feel favored by fortune. Go ahead, book your stay today; we’re looking forward to seeing you!

Great cabin, not so great owner
We arrived to the cabin on a Sunday afternoon. It was beautiful. The views are breathtaking. We loved it! On Monday, I got a call making sure we had settled in and didn't need anything. That was very nice. On Tuesday, I got another call.. this time it was to tell us that we were going to have to move cabins because of the water situation. What water situation, I asked. We hadn't been at the cabin since around 9 that morning, we were hiking... apparently the owner decided not to pay the water bill and there was no water at the cabin.
Needless to say, them telling me we had to move in the middle of our vacation, didn't set well.
After a few hours and countless phone calls from Jackson Mountain Homes, all the while we are still hiking..... and me letting them know that I wouldn't be moving without compensation of them interrupting my family's vacation, they decided to pay the water bill and have the water turned back on. It was VERY unprofessional of the company and don't even get me started on the owner not paying her bill. Then we remembered that we had actually read about this happening to another person back in December 2017. I definitely won't rent through this company again and wouldn't advise anyone to stay at this cabin for the simple fact that you may have to move during your stay. It is not worth the headache is caused me having to deal with them calling me every 30 minutes, plus worrying over having to pack everything we had unpacked and move 30 minutes away in the rain and snow!
Thank you Beth for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to share. Your input, as well as all our guest feedback is vitally important as we want all guests expectations to be met upon arrival. We are happy that you found the cabin beautiful and you enjoyed the breathtaking views. We sincerely apologize to you for an isolated incident where the HOA of this cabin turned the water off for issues beyond our control at Jackson Mountain Homes. It is never by choice we move guests during the middle of their stay. Jackson Mountain Homes very professionally and proactively made arrangements to move you to another cabin should there be a need. We are pleased we were able to swiftly resolve the issue and we did not have to move you. We hope the remainder of your stay was a pleasant one enjoying the area and more hiking. We hope you will stay with us again on your next trip to the Smokies, giving Jackson Mountain Homes the chance to exceed your expectations.
We had the best time at favored by fortune. We had 3 couples come together for a two-night stay, and this cabin was the perfect fit. Each couple not only had their own bedroom, but our own floors, with plenty of space to enjoy meals, the views, and board games together. We even skipped going out to downtown Gatlinburg to stay in and enjoy the cabin. I am still in awe of the view we had from each balcony - regardless of the weather it was absolutely beautiful. Definitely highly suggested for similar groups or families, and we are looking forward to coming back in the future!
I would just suggest following the directions exactly from the website, because our GPS and google maps took us to the wrong (and a little creepy) address the first time.
Brian, thank you for choosing to stay with us. We are pleased you found Favored by Fortune...absolutely perfect. We look forward to having you stay with us again on your next trip to the Smokies.
Changed our cabin and treated us terribly
It was a nightmare. We were told, as we were pulling into gatlinburg from 6 hours away with three children (2 twin infants and a toddler) that our cabin had no water and they hoped to have it fixed 3 hours later. One hour after settling into the cabin we were moved. We were given 3 choices- one was vetoed off the bat because it didn’t sleep enough people for our party. The other two were Angels View (over 30 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg with no cell service) and Bears Corner. Rebecca insisted Angels View was closer than it looked on the map- 10-15 minutes max from downtown. Skeptical, we headed that way. 37 minutes later (and with no service) i went inside to check it out. Shabby furniture, which she did warn us about, bugs, and since it was pet friendly it wasn’t going to work for our group. (Allergies). She insisted the cleaning crew got all “pet fur” but i told her it was the dander that was the issue. When we finally got back to town and cell service, i called to tell her Angels View wouldn’t work. She said we would have to do bears corner but it didn’t have a View. I asked her if there was anything else at all, our party had been planning this trip since July and we looked at many cabins before choosing the truly amazing views at favored by Fortune. She said there weren’t that slept as many as we needed, and that we could either pay more for the trip or take our chances with no water at the original cabin. What?! I told her i was frustrated because we had three screaming kids, i needed to get the babies down, it was getting dark, and my daughter was seriously freaked out asking if we had a place to stay. Rebecca then told me she was frustrated too because she had to pay $60 in daycare overages for her daughter because she was trying to fix this for us. She said we were lucky because the owner of Angels View discounted the cabin for us. I told her we needed something comparable to our original cabin and a View was important to us, and she said she had given us options but i just didn’t “like them enough”. We got disconnected (mountains!) and when i called back 2 min later, she’d left. That’s right, she had left the office and we did not have a place to stay. After a friend of mine who is coming in later for the trip called home away, we got the access code to Bears corner and were able to go there for the night. It was comparable in size, but did not have an air hockey table, or any kind of a view
Ashley, thank you for taking the time to share your review. Your input, as well as all our guest feedback is vitally important as we want all guests expectations to be met upon arrival. Moving a guest from a cabin they had booked to another accommodation is never anything we want to do and is only done in extreme circumstances, as in this case. There was a water break in the resort community that Favored by Fortune is located in and was nothing that our 24/7 on call service department could work on. When a guests accommodations are moved, it can be a time involved process searching through what units are available, comparable, and within price range. From your review, it sounds like Rebecca did what she was supposed to do, by continuing to work with you and she did not leave until she knew you had someplace to stay for the night. She ended her work day in good conscious knowing you had approved Angel’s View. Whoever would have answered the phone at the Gatlinburg office, after Rebecca had gone home for the evening, could have easily followed the notes in your guest portfolio. When Home Away was contacted, they called us here in Gatlinburg and it was our local agent who provided the code and move to Bear’s Corner. The water at Favored by Fortune was ready the next morning and the records show that when you were contacted with this news, you chose to stay at Bear’s Corner. You were compensated for the inconvenience the water outage caused. Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to having you stay with us on your next trip to the Smokies, giving us the opportunity to exceed all expectations.
Top notch. Very nice
Nicest cabin we have stayed in over 30 years of coming to the smokies. Our family of 8 had plenty of room. The master br is humongous. But the view, unbelievable, from all 3 floors and can see gatlinburg. All 3 floors have covered porches in which last night during a rain sat on the porch and enjoyed the view. It's only 7 minutes to 331 and 12 minutes to the first light in gatlinburg. We loved it completely.
Mark, thank you for choosing to stay with us. we are glad you enjoyed your stay and...the views!
Very nice cabin with an incredible view
Favored by Fortune is a beautiful cabin on the top of a mountain. The view is spectacular. We stayed on a Monday through Saturday. Everything was fine except once our water went out. We called and a repairman was sent right away and fixed the proble.m. I think we were only out of water for a couple of hours.
Great place to stay. Not far from Gatlinburg, but isolated without the crowds of Gatlinburg
Anthony, we are happy you enjoyed your stay at Favored by Fortune. Thank you for choosing to stay with us.
Scary at night
All windows can not be covered at night, so any body is outside can see rvery thing inside. Overall, the cbin is nice and has agreat view during the day.
Thank you Badran for taking the time to share your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. If one hasn't slept in a building with large window it can seem a little uncomfortable at first. However, with the nature of the decks large roof overhangs and the property being perched on the side of a hill, it would be difficult for anyone out side your party to see into any of the uncovered windows. We look forward to having you stay with us again on your next trip to the Smokies.
