This home has views you will remember forever. You will enjoy a direct view of Grandfather Mountain, the Hound Ears golf course and lake while feeling you are living in a tree house. Watch the clouds glide in between the mountains and wonder if you are looking down from heaven. All this from the large porch that seats 12 outside and inside an additional 12.
The house is at the end of a cul de sac with lots of paking and a covered area too. The home is two levels. Upstairs the house has cathedral wood ceilings and is completely open to enjoy the view. A beautiful stone fireplace with doors that open to that great view are prevalent as soon as you walk in. There is a half guest bath. The kitchen has a large bar around it and two sinks. There are 4 ceiling fans upstairs and of course central air and heat. One master is upstairs with a king size bed accented with a pottery barn quilt. The bath has 2 sinks and a easy to step in shower. Lay on the bed and look through the sliding glass doors to the beautiful view or watch the logs sparkle in the rock fireplace. Pick your favorite book to relax.
Downstairs there are 3 more bedrooms and a family room with a couch that pulls out to a queen bed with its own private door. There are two granite and marble full baths. One with a jacuzzi bath and the other an easy to step in shower. In the family room there s a wet bar, refrigerator, microwave as well as a full size washer and dryer. A wonderful engulfing screened porch with ceiling fans are just a few steps out of the family room and all 3 bedrooms. The sliding doors provide floor to ceiling views. Sit out on the porch swing or chairs and read, talk, or bring out the bridge table and play cards. The bedrooms boosts one with two twin beds, one with a queen, and the last has a king and don't forget about the family room with a pull out queen.
There is so much to do I feel I could type 4 pages. Or just stay in the home and relax. You are close to Blowing Rock, Boone, ASU, Foscoe, Banner Elk, Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather mountain. Blowing rock is a quaint town that has upscale shopping and a fun park with tennis and playgrounds galore. Try to catch Art in the Park once a month on a Saturday. The best ice cream is across the street. Cone Park is right off 221 that has a beautiful lake and is fun to walk around. Also catch the Shops on the Parkway for discount shopping. Boone is larger with ASU and even Walmart. Grandfather Mountain is a HUGE park with a small zoo and hiking galore. Go to the top for incredible views of all the surrounding states. If you love to ski there is Beech, Sugar, Applacian and you can see Seven Devils. Must have 4 wheel drive with chains to reach home in winter months due to Hound Ears steep roads.

We stayed at this house for our Christmas vacation. The house has a wonderful floor plan and the beds are so comfortable!!
I can't say enough about the view!! It is absolutely beautiful! We even got a little snow Christmas eve which made everything perfect!
We love Hound Ears and we love this house! Pam is so gracious and was so helpful with everything that we needed!
We definitely will stay here again!!
Home is spacious. Great views of Grandfather Mountain. We had everything we needed. Owner was quick to respond to any questions we had.
Would stay here again
The home was very clean and comfortable. The views from the deck were especially beautiful. If you're looking for a place to relax and just hang around, this is it. I could sit on the deck with that view for hours! Plenty of space for the family to gather together or to move off into their own space for a bit. Parking is sheltered which is nice in the rain. The kitchen is well stocked with pot, pans and utensils. The owners are very responsive, and checked in with us to make sure our stay was comfortable.
Unbelievable deck with view
Great place. Very spacious and well kept.
Great location and view
Location and view cannot be beat.... close to Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and all of the mountains for skiing and hiking.
The house is very large so can accomodate large families, it is however dated. Kitchen is nice and open but the cabinets are badly in need of an upgrade. The carpet throughout the upstairs does have stains so my recommendations would be to remove and replace with laminate because the owners do allow pets and that is pretty durable for pets. It would also update the look. I don't think that the maids do a really good job of cleaning the bathrooms and the stove in the kitchen. For those with dogs.... there is no area to just let them roam around (no flat yard) so walking is a necessity and not much of a grassy area for them to go. With updates it could really be beautiful.
Just spent the weekend with friends for the homecoming game and to celebrate 10 years as friends. This house is amazing. It's at the end of the road so fitting multiple cars is easy. Perfect view of grandfather mountain. Giant windows so you have a breathtaking view of the mountains in every room. 2 porches, 3 fireplaces, and alot of beds. The house is well stocked with pots/pans, glasses and shampoo. The security at the gate couldn't have been more friendly. The homeowner is super friendly and very easy to get in touch with. I would highly recommend this house!
Tweetsie Railroad is great for kids. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 5 miles away on Shulls Mill Road. Lots to do there-canoeing, fishing, hiking, waterfalls, beautiful scenic drive too. Gem mining, and trout farms that smoke your catch and are great for kids fishing too.
