Why Lori chose Colorado Springs

I bought this property as my primary residence in 2004. Fairly new to Colorado Springs I wanted to be downtown close to all the amenities: shopping, restaurants, recreational activites and cultural events. I enjoyed living here so much that when relocated I thought it would make a great place for visitors to the Springs and put it on VRBO. I frequently get repeat guests and the house is ideal for couples or small families looking for a comfortable, affordable, and convenient place to enjoy their vacation and extended stays.

What makes this house unique

Centrally located only 3 blocks from the Interstate 25. Two blocks from Tejon Street- Colorado Springs main downtown street. Very close to Colorado College, Fine Arts Center, Convention and Visitors Bureau, shops, restaurants, night clubs.

Cute little house just southwest of downtown Colorado Springs. Kept very clean. Well equipped kitchen... we cooked our big Thanksgiving meal there. Good beds. Nice big TV. Cool to have view of Pikes Peak from the front porch. Super-easy access to I-25 and west-bound US-24 to Old Colorado City and into the mountains. Downtown and many restaurants around Tejon Street, Visitors Bureau, and Old County Courthouse (now a museum) are within walking distance. At first you wonder about the neighborhood but everyone we saw said hello and we had no problems. We really enjoyed our visit and plan on staying here again!

The house was just what we needed to get away but feel like we were at home. Great food and drinks within walking distance . Lots of extras in the house if needed. However we chose to only use the coffee pot and microwave . Would come back and stay !

Great location, great place, just like staying at home!

  • 5 of 5

I have been using Homeaway, VRBO and AirBnB for a couple of years now. I have used these sites for small nights away with my husband to places that accommodate family reunions. Lori was just like family, with her flexibility, ability to communicate details (the weird billing of Homeaway...!), friendliness, and of course her house! We needed a place to stay for one night that could accommodate a quick happy hour of friends before an off-site business meeting and she was so helpful with suggestion about places to meet (a school that has been turned into a bar?!!!) and her house was perfect for a quick gathering place. Lori and her house are the epitome of the home-away concept...a place, like home, that is welcoming, intimate, and makes you feel like you are in a safe place in an unfamiliar location. Lori couldn't have been more friendlier or helpful, her house more welcoming, and the location more convenient. Thank you for a wonderful time!!! All of your extra touches were so appreciated!!!

Perfectly adorable and centrally located home with very thoughtful host!

I absolutely loved staying at Lori’s charming “Victorian cottage” as did my kids. We were getting to The Springs later than I thought and she OFFERRED us a late check out. I also mentioned needed to find a place for my morning run and she left a map with her personal recommendations and there was and cold water in the fridge on our arrival and coffee for the morning. The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated- I adore the antique window décor!. I saw the previous two reviews and I honestly don't know what they were referring to. We found the character of the house bright, inviting, very clean and well maintained. My daughter enjoyed the books and toys and my son was able to access wifi easily. There was everything in the kitchen I needed to make meals for my picky eaters but found a couple restaurants around the corner for me. :-).

The house is also really close to all the attractions we wanted to see. I highly recommend this property to a family or couple visiting to Colorado Springs. Next time we come through for a couple days we know the perfect affordable place!

Very clean

  • 4 of 5

I appreciate honest reviews, so here's mine. Driving up to the house was a little disappointing because the neighborhood is not something to be desired. Once inside the house, it was super clean and organized. Plenty of towels too, always a plus! There's not much to walk to, but a short drive takes you to Walmart and fast food. It's very close to Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, etc. The location is great if you can overlook the neighborhood. The owner was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. She can't change where the house is located, but she does a great job making it a nice stay.
