  • Great Setup!

"Two families (4 adults and 7 kids 14 and under) enjoyed a long weekend at this wonderful Lake Lure home. Our kids spent countless hours on top of the boat house leaping into the lake, while the adults chilled in the adirondack chairs lake side. Dinner was enjoyed on the deck with our beautiful view of the mountain-lake setting. Picture are extremely accurate. The homesite is one of the best on the lake in my opinion. House is a lakehouse. Nothing fancy, but purely adequate. Cons: Wifi goes in and out, kitchen is tight but has everything you need. No central air, but you don't need it 50 weeks of the year! For runners/hikers, we went on a great trail run at the Buffalo Springs (?) park, just 10 minutes from the house. Overall, great experience and we would recommend to friends and/or return."

  • Beyond our expectations

"We were two families (3 adults, 3 young adults) and the house was just perfect. It was roomy, clean, and included everything we needed. The pictures don't do it justice. The setting on a lake is scenic and we used the resort amenities (pool, walking trail, golf range, movie rentals, spa). We cooked every meal in the house's large well stocked kitchen. We brought groceries ahead of time although a full-size grocery story was only about 10 minutes away. We grilled, played games, watched movies, used the hot tub, read in the evenings. Chimney Rock was a fun trip as was Ashville tacked onto the end. It was very relaxing and quiet. We absolutely loved this place and highly recommend it. The owner was a pleasure to work with."

  • Beautiful cabin with outstanding view!

"We had eight adults and four children when we stayed for a week recently. The accommodations were very comfortable, well maintained, and very nicely equipped. The view from the wrap-around deck is outstanding! The fog was spread throughout the mountains on our first day-it beat anything we have seen in the Smoky Mountains! The sunsets were beautiful each night! Yes, the drive up and down Young's Mountain was a challenge the first day, but we got used to it quickly and met only two cars going the other way during the week. I tapped lightly on my horn as I went around some of the hairpin turns. We drove a small SUV-new tires and enough power for the trip up. Asheville, The Biltmore House, Chimney Rock State Park, and Lake Lure were close enough and very enjoyable."

  • Lovely setup for multigenerational family

"This property was perfect for our 3-generation family of 6. The home is right on the lake, with a lakeside deck. We particularly liked the gathering spaces - sofa and chairs around the fireplace and an open area overlooking the lake. There's a large master suite as well as two smaller rooms with double beds. There is not a large dining area - there's a bar setup and a smallish bar-height table - which might have been more of a problem if we were all trying to sit down for formal meals. The owners responded quickly to our questions, even on Thanksgiving. The stairs down to the entry could be tricky for less agile guests to negotiate. The street is almost at roof level of the house. Like most properties in the area, there is a fairly long staircase down to the main entrance, and there are some uneven spots. Overall, a lovely space with pretty much everything we needed!"
