Our beautiful condo here at Papakea Ocean Front Resort sits on some of the largest acreage with the fewest number units of any resort in Kaanapali. The grounds consist of almost 14 acres of open grass area, tropical gardens, bamboo, palm trees, koi ponds with water fountains lit with tiki torches and sidewalk lighting. We have 2 large pools(1 heated), 2 large jacuzzis-almost 30 person capacity, 2 - 12 hole putting greens, 2 shuffleboards and 3 lighted tennis courts along with other amenities.
We have ON-ISLAND management available to take care of you throughout the duration of your vacation if anything needed related to our condo.
Papakea Resort is adjacent to Kaanapali Beach and a short ride to the harbor town of Lahaina. There are wonderful eateries, restaurants and shops within walking distance and in nearby Lahaina, which has many art galleries and live music. We have local farmers markets a few blocks north AND another a mile south off the highway with wonderful fruits, veggies and other great foods. A fresh fish market in the neighborhood a few blocks from the resort as well.
There are NO Check-in or Resort Fees with us and parking is FREE. If you mention that you saw us on VRBO we will discount the checkout cleaning fee to just $85.00 for a 7 nights or more stay!

Perfect for a family on a budget

I took my family of five (2 boys 18 and 16, and a 12 year old girl) to this unit and we were all happy with it The architecture/look is a bit dated, but it was clean. We did not have daily maid service and did the day-to-day cleaning ourselves. The key factor was the price, which was low enough that we were able to stay for several more days on our budget. We wound up staying for two weeks. The grounds were well-kept and the pools had several BBQ's around them for public use. There is a supermarket nearby and, yes, groceries are more expensive than on the mainland. But it is still the most economical way to go. And the kids really appreciated the home-cooked meals every now then. 10 - 15 minute drive to great snorkel spots on the north end. Short drives to Kanapali and Lahaina for shopping and dining. And a pool and hot tub if you don't want to drive. We jumped in the pool before bed nearly every night. Beautiful sunsets from your lanai or the seawall on the property. The resort does really not have a beach, but you can walk south a few minutes and find a nice sandy beach to lie on and waves to play in. Only one bathroom for five people, made it kind of tight, but the bathroom has a pocket door between the sink and the shower so two people can use at the same time and still have privacy. The shower fixtures looked pretty new and worked well. Wouldn't recommend this unit for elderly or frail because: 1) the toilet rocked a little and you could lose your balance, 2) the stairway to the loft is steep and narrow. It is a 4th floor unit, but there is an elevator, so you can avoid the stairs if you wish. All in all a great value and that allowed us to stay and enjoy Maui longer.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children.
