A friend and I stayed in the Farmhouse's main floor for the Christmas holiday. We found it to be as shown and described, very clean, and clear instructions for all the basics. The main (downstairs) floor is spacious with a separate entry, living room with fireplace, dining, kitchen and bath. The large kitchen is fully equipped with everything in easy reach. All the rooms are comfortably furnished and we loved the soft "Christmas" tree.lights in the living room--very welcoming. The bedroom is a traditional standout on its own! In total, we felt very special and at home in this elegant farmhouse. For indoor diversions, there are puzzles, games, a great radio, and DVD/VHS tape player. Outdoors, the two main beach entries in Seaview and Long Beach are close-by for walking, kite flying and beach combing. At low tide, try clam digging with the locals. From the house, it's a short walk to Sid's IGA grocery store and the Visitors' Center where the staff are super helpful. We were glad they talked-up the short drive to Disappointment State Park to explore that area and learn more about Lewis and Clark. Finally, we had a declious dinner at the 42nd Cafe across the street. I'm still thinking about their amaziing house-made peppermint ice cream. Thanks, Terry and Roger, for provididng such a great get-away!
Owner response:Thank you Janice for your patronage and enjoyment of the Farmhouse. You rented the downstairs of the Farmhouse only and it is perfect for two people with plenty of room to move around. It is very convenient to most everything without having to use your car. I would be happy to have you back as a guest. Thank you.

This was my third visit to the Farmhouse: this time my Mother of 84 years came with. She was knocked out by how lovely and enchanting it was....as I ALWAYS am. She fancied it the perfect home to retire in... home, mind you---not hotel room. From spices, to first pressed olive oils, to wine glasses, plates, pans, full kitchen----to the absolutely lovely antique furnishings throughout the whole farm house. We didn't rent the upstairs, but because it was empty this particular weekend, went up to take a look.... From Katherine's Room to the double bedroom, bathroom and working room with a peek a boo lookout, it was in perfect sync with the area below where we stayed. Our room, off the kitchen, filled with vanity table; armoire, lace curtains and brass bed with a gorgeous quilt and comfy bedding... was luscious. The full bath was an added luxury, and luckily-- the owners: Terry Heiman and Roger Aase, appreciate the "holiday experience" they provide for their guests, where there was ample shampoo, conditioner and body soap--as Mom and I managed to get out our door from home without it. We feasted from a shop by a near by local market, and dined like Queens at the lovely table with a grace far exceeding that where you would normally rent a room with a bed. The fireplace provided an effect of coziness and warmth. Pressed coffee in the morning was a welcomed surprise, though you also have a choice of drip. We can't say enough about this place. It's enchanting beyond; delightful, welcoming and the owners provide you an experience you will never forget. All you have to bring is your joy and sense of adventure with a love for the sea. Not a bad trade off.... Go and experience it....... You'll love it; I guarantee!!
Owner response:As this repeat guests indicates how satisfied they have been with staying at this property and what charm it has to vring them back time and time again. Thank you so much for your patronage and enjoyment.

Well, I could say the same thing everybody else does; cute, charming, convenient, and then you would think this home is just like the rest. Well, let me say it is all those things and much more. The home is quiet, comfortable, spacious and easy to find. The bed here is more comfortable than my own. The kitchen is fully stocked. I was even surprised to find a French press, best coffee you can have while traveling. There are antiques all over, of which many seem to want to tell a story. The comforters are beautiful and one is a limited edition. You can really tell the owners enjoyed decorating and putting the place together. There is a beautiful garden around back that was starting to bloom with a quiet running water feature. The location is right off downtown Long beach, just far enough to avoid all the noise. Less that 100 yards from the Shelburne restaurant and pub. One of the areas oldest and my favorite spots. Say hi to Dave. Laurie’s Homestead Breakfast, one of the best and busiest breakfast restaurants is a three-minute walk and Sid’s market so you can stock the kitchen. Who would enjoy staying here? Newlyweds, families, foodies, B&B hoppers, cyclist, anyone that would enjoy the relaxing nature of this home. Who wouldn’t like it, probably smelly fishermen, but then, you never really know do you. One last thing. During our stay we called Barb the house keeper to ask if they had a blow drier. Barb explained that they didn’t. I received a call less than an hour later with Barb asking if we would like one. When we returned to the cottage there it was. I highly recommend staying here…
