We had a great time at this property! The lake is beautiful and excellent for boating. We really liked the layout of the cabin and the great view. The house is two-level and has plenty of space. Reservation was easy and the owners provided all necessary information about the house, as well as directions. What a great experience!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

This cabin is just what you are looking for if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax at your own private getaway. The lakefront property is quiet and secluded. The lake is beautiful. There were no mosquitoes! The boats were fun and although it was a bit late in the year to go swimming, we could see how inviting the lake would be in warmer weather during the summer. The interior of the cabin is cozy and just right for family gathering. We kind of wished it had been cooler so we could have built a fire in the fireplace. This would be an ideal vacation spot all year long. We felt right at home, and with all the amenities of home provided, about all you need to arrive with is your luggage. There are plenty of stores within a few miles. Florence is a wonderful town and is fun to explore. The ocean is just a couple of miles away, so if the beach is your thing, then it's relatively close. Come discover what our family did - that staying here was just like coming home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We're preparing to leave Collard Lake and the sun is shining perfectly through the kitchen window. Time goes by so quickly once you get away from the daily routine. We enjoyed the weekend at the lake. The place was perfect for our family and we look forward to returning in the summer months.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had so much fun as always, canoeing and boating, swimming, playing in the sand, hiking, and going to "Tattoine" 2 lakes over. Two of our kids caught their first fish! This is a perfect family vacation spot! We couldn't talk the kids into going to the beach!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: We built this cabin in 1971 to use as a family vacation home. We used to come here a lot with our five children during the summer months. The kids would have so much fun swimming in the lake and hanging out on the dock catching salamanders. Now our children are all grown and married, with children of their own. They love to bring their families here and enjoy the same experiences with their children that they remember from their childhood. After our retirement, we decided to do some missionary work for our church and were considering selling the cabin. Our children begged us to keep it and let them rent it out to help pay expenses. We have been renting it out for about 6 years now and we love sharing our humble cabin with families who are looking for a place to spend time together and enjoy nature. We hope you love it as much as we do!
Why the Owner Chose Florence:
We love the Oregon Coast!! It's great year round. We love the Summer months because we can swim in the lake and head over to the beach to play in the surf and sand. We love the winter months because we can snuggle up by the fire with a good book or go to the ocean and watch the crashing waves.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our property is right on the beautiful and peaceful Collard Lake. It's great for swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing.
