Welcome to "Hale Pili Aloha" the "House of Close Friends". Our lovely cottage exudes the sense of warmth and calm that travelers to Kauai return time and again to experience. Situated between Turtle Cove (at Whalers Cove) and Baby Beach, our home is located in a small friendly neighborhood that runs along the southernmost coast of Poipu. It has a lovely garden, bicycles, boogie boards, snorkel and beach gear for your enjoyment.

The interior is bright and newly decorated in a casually elegant style with Asian antiques and Hawaiian decorative items. The kitchen and baths are updated and contain all the modern conveniences. The beds are very high quality as are the linens. The six sets of French doors allow the bird songs, trade winds and fragrant ocean breezes to filter through the home. There is a peek of the ocean from the living/dining room area.

The cottage is within walking distance or a very short drive to all the wonders of the Poipu area. Our location is the perfect combination of privacy (away from the denser vacation areas) and access to all the sun and fun. In the immediate area you will find terrific dining, superb snorkeling, the best beaches, and sunrise/sunset giant turtle watching. Take an envigorating morning walk along the coast after that first cup of island coffee!

The home is a perfect romantic retreat for a couple yet is large enough for two couples or a small family. Allow us to welcome you to our "House of Close Friends"...you will love your stay!

  • When we started looking for places to stay for our wedding and honeymoon in Kauai, we knew we wanted to rent a house. A friend told us about VRBO and we came across this lovely cottage. We instantly fell in love just from the pictures. When we arrived we were even more surprised, the house was beautiful! The house is in a convenient location and very close to everything we wanted to do. It was short drive to beautiful hikes in Waimea Canyon, close to all the shops in Lihue and a nice drive to the North side. The house had everything we needed; snorkeling gear, boogie boards, bikes and a surf board. We didn’t have a rent a thing. We fell in love with Kauai and the beautiful cottage. We can’t wait to go back!

  • We stayed in the cottage in August 2009 for 10 days, and had a great time. The cottage is very spacious, has generously high ceilings, is all painted in white, is very well equipped (incl beach gear, dishes and cooking gear)and very conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood with some permanent residents. The house is extremely well maintained and clean, and feels more like a "home" than a "rental". Generous deck with table and deck chairs and BBQ in the nice garden. By far the best accomodation we ever had on the island. Our highest recommendations !

  • My wife and I stayed in this well appointed cottage the third week of May and it was beautiful! The location was perfect - near great snorkeling beaches, delicious restaurants, and so much more. If we owned a place in Kauai, it would be in this neighborhood. Mahalo Wolfgang and Leal for a memorable holiday!

  • It's been difficult to enter a comment about this vacation cottage...after all, who would want to give away what might possibly be the best kept secret on the island of Kauai? Having never rented a vacation home online before, we weren't sure what to expect. The pictures of the house looked great, but we knew that looks could be deceiving. Well, in this case this little home was so much better than its pictures! When we stepped inside the cottage, we stepped into a paradise that was very hard to leave. Every part of the interior could have been an ad for "Pottery Barn-Hawaii"! We were equipped with every comfort that we needed from a wonderful king-sized bed in an air-conditioned beautiful master bedroom and bath, privacy, peace, and beauty inside and out. It was a short and easy stroll to Baby Beach which was wonderful for snorkling, sunbathing, our three little grandsons, wave watching, surfers and beautiful Hawaiian sunsets. For us, this diamond-by-the-sea was FLAWLESS!
