I, along with the group I was with, had a wonderful long weekend at the Woodland Chalet. It came exactly as advertised and met all of our expectations. 8 adults and a 10 month old were very comfortable in the house for the weekend. It is equipped with just about anything you would need on a daily basis, including a fully stocked kitchen. The fireplace not only provided some nice heat but gave the house a very homey feel. And it was nice to wake up and see all the snow covered trees outside the many large windows. It is very convenient to the village but still far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. We skied at Attitash and it only took about 10 minutes to get there from the house. On top of all of this it was very affordable, especially for a normally bustling holiday weekend in North Conway. It is unfortunate that we had to watch the Patriots lose to the Jets on our last night there but we will not let that take away from the fun we had! I would highly recommend this home to anyone interested in staying in North Conway.
Owner response:We too love to look out the windows at the trees laden with snow, enjoying the feeling of being deep in the woods when we are only minutes from the village and the slopes.

Hello Jo Ann and Fred, Thank you so much for the perfect "first trip to New Hampshire" experience. We just loved everything about the Woodland Chalet---from morning coffee out on the deck to happy hour in the late afternoon in the same place (!!!!), to the "forest" views from all the big, big windows, to the central location and easy access to everything we needed--resturants, groceries store, etc. We had so much fun during our week at Woodland Chalet and the White Mtns. We hiked almost every day---even made it to the top of Kersarge Mtn. to see the fire tower at the top. Wow, what a view from there!!!! Did some day trips to include sightseeing (Mt. Washington is amazing!!!!), hiking and picnics. Had to "take it easy" one afternoon and go to the outlet mall which was just a few minutes away. Got some great bargains there!! You sure thought of everything in the chalet, right down to a wine bottle opener!! The kitchen had everything we needed, and then some. So peaceful and quiet there, slept great in the king size bed and loved waking up to the sound of the birds in the woods. We didn't travel with any children, but would be a great place for a family to stay--plenty for the kids to do with the basketball hoop, woods, and their own space downstairs (including video games and their own t.v.). Also, loved having a washer and dryer. That's one of the first things I look for when we travel. I would highly recommend your house to others, and hope we get to "re-visit" one day soon and finish doing ALL the things we didn't get to do on this trip!!!! The White Mtns. are a "must see" and your place is a great place to do it from.......Many thanks, Jan & Paul
Owner response:We too enjoy sleeping in the king bed and hearing the birds in the morning. North Conway is the most relaxing place to be after the stress of city life. We feel as if we are lost in the woods at our house, but then we can easily get to excellent restaurants, outlet stores and ski mountains.

Thanksgiving Get Away

Our family, six adults and two children, was looking for a central meeting place that wouldn’t burden any of us with the extra chores Thanksgiving can bring, so we could enjoy our special time together. New England is home and North Conway is the center of New England. We all came from Texas, Maine and Connecticut anticipating the magic of the season and were not surprised to find it at the Chalet. There is always anxiety when renting without first seeing it, but the Woodland Chalet achieved a five-star rating from everyone. Accommodations on two floors provided more than enough space for privacy. The large, open living room with surrounding windows and comfortable furniture provided us a place to catch up from the daily activities of shopping and hiking and even a Polar Express train ride downtown. Late one afternoon during an early storm, the wind whistled through the pine trees outside as we huddled in front of the cozy fireplace, red-cheeked, while the fire crackled and the smell of hot chocolate wafted in from the kitchen. The eclectic blend of stores and restaurants on “the strip” also beckoned us to early Christmas shopping and sightseeing. If you want a destination for skiing, holidays or just getting away for awhile, we highly recommend the Woodland Chalet. Easily secured through the internet, it was fast, uncomplicated and we would definitely go there again.
Owner response:As the homeowners, we feel the same way our guests do about our house. The moment we arrive we start to relax, and like our guests, we love sitting by the fire and looking out at the woods, especially when the snow is falling.

Stayed at Woodland Chalet for 3 nights (3/5/09 - 3/7/09) The place was everything as specified..and it was as clean as everyone has mentioned. :) The owners were very good to deal with and made making arrangements a pleasure. The two levels is perfect for groups with children as the kids have there own hang out space with TV and games. Also..very close to Cranmore..(just down the back road) and close to downtown North Conway. Perfect for everyone!..thanks for a great stay!!

My wife and I, along with two other couples, vacationed at the Woodland Chalet from 11/27 through 11/30.... the Woodland Chalet is everything one could hope for in a quiet, secluded New Hampshire retreat. It is truly nestled among the pine and white birch trees which provide picturesque views from every interior window within the chalet. We simply could not resist keeping the wood-burning fireplace burning morning to night... what a setting! To top it all off... we, as Woodland Chalet renters, were granted full access to an indoor swimming pool and hot tub located literally minutes from the chalet at the Crown Ridge Resort. The 85 degree pool was a fantastic way to spend a few afternoon hours...with mountain views from inside the glassed-in pool enclosure, it was simply "FANTASTIC". I spoke to the pool maintenance person and was informed that the roof of the enclosure was retractable, making summer swimming as just appealing as winter. I also noticed a number of picnic tables located just outside the enclosure which made it easy to imagine having lunch while taking in the breathtaking mountain views. All in all, our stay at the Woodland Chalet was just what the doctor ordered and I would be willing to bet the house that we will be returning to this "gem of a property" in the very near future! A special thanks to the Walthers for sharing their time and property with us, the whole experience was very enjoyable and hassle-free.... Thanks Jo Ann!.... Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, your husband and entire family... take care!

JoAnn, I just wanted to thank you for renting your home to Ada and me once again. Your attention to details like tissues and bathroom drinking cups are well appreciated. Also, your cookware is top notch and kept in new condition (not always the case as I have rented many houses/condos over the years). We admired your recently added vintage Cranmore ski picture in the dining area! These things and more, create a seamless transition from our home to yours. We have come to feel that Woodland Chalet is our "home away from home." We will definitely be contacting you again for future vacations! Thanks again, Mike & Ada

Fantasic! For 11+ years my group & I have rented homes and condos at different ski areas for our annual ski trip and this home - by far - met and exceeded all of our expectations! Spotlessly clean, well stocked with utensils and wood, comfortable and relaxing. What more can we say? I would highly recommend the Walther's home. Not only are the accommodations delightful, but the Walther's are very thorough in making sure the home meets all your needs. WONDERFUL place, wonderful landlords. Thank you!! :-)
