Charm and Value on Lake Burton
Year Purchased: 2001
Why the Owner Chose Lake Burton
After searching the area, we selected Lake Burton because it is by far the most beautiful lake in the S.E. with its mountain setting and pristine water. Our cove has very little boat or car traffic and is ideal for swimming and relaxing.
The house is close to many beautiful and historic sites and within 2 hr. driving distance to Atlanta.
All four seasons on the lake are wonderful, but the spectacular Fourth of July fireworks on the lake which are shot off just outside our cove are not to be missed. Even on peak holiday weekends it is not overly crowded.
The Unique Benefits at this House
To be able to capture the ambiance of the house we had a virtual tour video of the property made. Please see bottom of VRBO 233753 site for link to virtual tour and web site for the home.

Our family recently made a first visit to Lake Burton, and we look forward to many more. This home was perfect for us, we found it to be very spacious, and extremely cozy at the same time. This was our 4th time in selecting a VRBO home, all have been very enjoyable and have met our needs, this one however, seemed to go above and beyond. We literally had every comfort of home. As mentioned in one of the other reviews, the master bed is even more comfortable than our own. Our children are 7 & 8, they were able to explore the grounds and loved fishing from the boat house. We also found the location to be excellent, we ventured out to all the surrounding towns, we highly recommend Tallulah River Gorge, as well as Sunburst Stables for horseback riding and their zip line. The owners have provided a great book with information of the surrounding areas in the home. We miss waking up in the morning to the sunlight streaming in and the amazing views of the lake...this gracious home is a wonderful memory for us, thank you for allowing us to stay!
Owner response:Our entire experience with your stay at our home was a piece of cake. Conscience about every detail, right down to following our departure instructions, you were ideal tenants. We hope you'll come again; you and your family are certainly welcome any time! Thanks again; Sam and Carlotta

Lake Burton Vacation

A beautiful retreat from the busy hustle-bustle of everyday life. The house had all the comforts of home, plus the boat house with a deck where we could relax, sunbathe, read or have a picnic as the deck had a table and chairs. The downstairs (ground level) had an entertainment center and comfortable seating. On the ground level there was a beautiful master bedroom with master bath so that with children present it afforded privacy. There was also a guest bedroom with bath on the same floor. The loft area provided a king size bed as well as twin beds also with its own bath. We had a wonderful time and have made arrangements to return as soon as possible, and we would positively recommend it for your vacation.
Owner response:We are very pleased that your stay and overall experience was satisfactory. I remember our conversation regarding you reservation and your eagerness to see Lake Burton for the first time. I can only hope that you came away with the same sense of awe and wonderment of the lake's beauty that we have. If I recall, you wanted to rent again this summer. If so, just let us know and we will make home available once again. Thanks again for your interest in our home; Sam

Stayed at this house on Burton with my wife and 15 month old for a cold weekend in early November. Really enjoyed our stay. The house itself is very nice -- very comfortable bed. Beautiful in the morning as the sun rises over the mountains and pours over the deck into the house. We cooked our meals in the kitchen, which had all the stuff we needed (pots/pans/etc.). Also, it's not far from Helen if you're up for that -- and also Tallulah Gorge isn't far off either. Though it was too cold to make use of the deck or the lake, would be great to go back and take advantage of these features -- there's a great screen in porch (with a grill) there, too. That said, I think we will head back there soon.

I recently stayed at this custom designed lake home and cannot wait to return. I've visited in both the summer and fall and love both seasons. In the summer, my favorite time is eating meals on the side porch. It's spacious enough for a large group to gather, and the view it offers of the lake is beautiful. Second to relaxing on the porch is sunbathing on the rooftop of the dock. In the fall, I love cozying up to the fireplace and reading on the couch or hanging out with family. Cooking is a social event because of the open floorplan, allowing everyone to be comfortable conversing whether you're part of the preparation or sitting at the bar. Life at this lake house is perfect for relaxing or having a full house of activity. Can't wait to get back!
