My wife and I stayed here when we were in town for a wedding. It was right downtown and walkable to pretty much everything. The place itself was great - had everything we needed and was very clean. Lots of character too! If I was ever coming back to Bedford, this would be the first place I would try to stay.

Owner response: Thanks so much, Chris, and I do hope you all will come back when you can stay longer...we never got to talk about Decatur!

We had an excellent stay here. Loft was very quaint and comfortable. Great for romantic get-a-way or short stay for business. Accommodates 3 easily and 4 in pinch. Innkeeper was very gracious and easy to work with. Coffee shop next door very pleasant. My dog was happy here too!

Owner response: It was a genuine pleasure having you all stay with us, and I hope you, and your fine dog, can make your way back to the Blue Ridge Mtns. to stay with us again real soon.

I spent the first week of July at the loft and had a WONDERFUL experience! I was traveling from Georgia to Virginia to attend classes at Liberty University and the loft was a great alternative to a hotel. I had about a 25 min drive to Lynchburg every morning but hit zero traffic! Wish I was able to have stayed longer and gotten to enjoy the cute little town more! I did; however, take a thirty minute drive out to the lake one day which was also beautiful! I will definitely be back again!

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Owner response: Thank you very much for your very favorable review of the Loft, Allison. A number of our guests have been students or teachers at Lynchburgs Liberty University, and, like you, they found the Loft, in nearby Bedford, to be a unique and affordable alternative to Lynchburg hotels. We certainly hope you will be able to make your way back up from Georgia soon, and hey, you now qualify for our most favored guest discounts!

The Loft was perfect for us...3 adults and a dog. Enough room and everything we needed to feel at home. Bedford is a quiet little town. Very peaceful. The coffee shop downstairs is great. Everyone is so nice. We rode from there every day into the hills, or down towards the lake. Roanoke and Lynchburg are a short drive. And the Peaks of Otter is worth the trip. We had a great stay. We'll be back.

We arrived over the Easter weekend, and found the Loft to look even better than the pictures that had been posted on this site. There was plenty of room for two adults and three children. We didn't want to leave. Great craftsmanship and detail throughout. New appliances, beautiful floors, and it just seems like they took there time and didn't skimp on any of the Lofts features. Really enjoyed the claw tub and the weekend was just a great little get away. Plenty to walk to in the immediate area, and great local food. Warm, welcoming, and better than I had anticipated. We hope to come back and visit again soon.

Owner response: We're very glad that so many of our guests appreciate the craftsmanship that went into the Loft. Some of Bedford's finest tradesmen gave their very best efforts to make this small space efficient and functional, but also very warm and romantic. We're also glad that our friends from Stafford enjoyed their stay in Bedford, long known as the "World's Best Little Town". Hope they'll come back soon!

My husband and I (and our dog) wanted a quiet and restful getaway where we could browse some shops and eat, but moreover, rest in a comfortable home that wasn't our own. That's when we found The Loft. Our stay was without flaw! We are photographers, so we tend to want our accommodations to have a creative aesthetic. The two bedroom loft is artfully and intentionally designed without sacrificing coziness or comfort. Though quaint, we never felt overcrowded. There are lots of windows filling the unit with natural light, an equipped kitchen, interesting art and furniture, and comfortable linens. It was clean and put together but was still inviting and begging you to settle in. Downtown Bedford is small and The Loft is in a great location. There is a grocery store around the corner and many good restaurants and landmarks all within a short walking distance. Additionally, we felt very safe and secure the entire time. Parking was a breeze; free and right in front of the unit. The folks next door at Cup-a-Joe were kind and helpful, and treated us to complimentary tea and coffee. Later, we walked down to the hardware to meet the owner Bill who had taken such good care of us. Bill made the reservation so carefree and simple yet still provided is with all of our needs, answered our questions, checked in on us via email during our stay. The only thing I would add is that the upstairs lofted bedroom may not be suitable for young children. While we do not yet have children, I'd suspect that due to the narrowness of the staircase and the openings between each step, a little person could possible injure themselves. However, for older children (or adults like me who wanted to pretend like I had my own TV equipped fort) it is perfect! We have told all of our friends about The Loft, and would encourage any vacationer to take advantage of it! We were sad we had to leave and are looking forward to our next trip!

Owner response: Thanks!! It's always a pleasure to be appreciated, and we in turn appreciate you all being such great guests!

The Loft on Lawyers row is a great rental! It's such a gem in Bedford. The owners have provided every necessity for renters, whether staying for a day or a month. The Loft is very tastefully decorated with great architectural features and quaint details. Both beds are supremely comfortable and have nice linens. The second half bath is a nice feature as is the fireplace, though it was too hot to use it during our stay. I would absolutely recommend the Loft on Lawyers row!

My husband and I rented the loft for a few nights while our daughters were at a camp in West Virginia. The loft was completely comfortable and we enjoyed walking to a few local restaurants. Kathy was a doll to deal with and was so helpful in planning our daily activities. The D-Day Memorial was absolutely beautiful. We had a super fun time at Otters Peak Winery followed by a hike at Falling Rocks along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We took a day trip down to Chateau Morrisette in Floyd and it was well worth the drive. The winery and restaurant were top notch and the drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your adorable loft with us. We can't wait to return!

It's particularly gratifying to know that they found our new manager so helpful...we're very pleased to have Kathy handling the day-to-day business of the Loft.

The Loft on Lawyers row was beautiful! The time and love that went into making it a home away from home really shows. From the claw foot tub to the peppermint candy the decor has the perfect balance of whimsy and class. Everything was in great shape. My husband and I took the master bedroom while my brother had the loft bedroom and we were all very happy with our stay. We had a great time exploring downtown Bedford too. A stop at the D-Day memorial is a must and there's a great art gallery on the second floor of the Bedford Hardware store. We would definitely recommend the Loft on Lawyers row to anyone staying in the Bedford area. We felt more at home than we ever would have in any of the hotels nearby.
