Lodging in downtown Bedford
Lodging in downtown Bedford
The owner was very nice and helpful. Accommodations were great for our short stay and matched the description. Everytthing was clean and we had everything we needed. The loft is in a renovated old building and has lots of character! We enjoyed staying there. It is on 2nd floor with no elevator so not good for those with mobility issues.

Exactly what I was looking for... A place with character, with all the modern conveniences AND moderately close to Liberty University. Our stay was flawless. We were grateful we found this place and it was available. Cannot thank you enough, Bill!

This is a charming, convenient, and comfortable place to stay while in Bedford. We were traveling through on our way to North Carolina and stayed a couple of nights with our dog. So nice to find a place that accepts dogs and doesn't charge more for them! It is right in downtown so you can walk everywhere. Our favorite place to eat was "The Social Club." The food and the ambience were outstanding. The owner, Lauren, took really good care of us. We sat out back on their porch so our dog could join us. Love it! Bill, the owner/manager of The Loft is such a nice person to work with. Something to think or prepare for: If you like a dark room for sleeping, bring something to cover your eyes. The windows are only partially covered. The bed is a little hard, but better than many. They really thought of everything. It's all there for you. The pictures are accurate so that is what you can expect. It was so nice having two bathrooms, too! We would recommend this property and hope to return again someday. The people of Bedford are some of the friendliest we have ever encountered! We really enjoyed this small town in a lovely setting.

Nice place ...as advertised, clean, well-outfitted, and historic. Went to a surprise birthday party at the Avendale, and was able to walk to and from. Just wish I had more time.

Owner response: Thanks so much, Alan. I'm very glad we could accommodate you at the last minute, and that you appreciated our proximity to so many great places in Bedford. Hope to see you back again soon.
We needed to spend a couple of days in a quiet, friendly place as we celebrated 40 years of marriage. We found that and more at the Loft on Lawyers' Row. The beauty of the antique and the modern were blended in a thoughtful and efficient way, allowing for a comfortable stay with a feel for the past without loss of the conveniences of modern technology. The pictures and descriptions were quite accurate, and the loft was very clean. Bill, you (and your town) made us feel very welcome. The D-Day Memorial and the beauty of the nearby mountains are not to be missed. We want to visit again the beautiful little town with the great restaurants - several of which are within walking distance. Two of our favorite: Liberty Station (salt & pepper catfish and the bread) and Forks Country Restaurant (best "mac and cheese" and wonderful biscuits.) Can't wait to come for a return stay! Owner response: Thanks so much,Carol...privacy is what makes us different from a number of great B&Bs in the area. Hope to see you again!
My wife and I stayed here when we were in town for a wedding. It was right downtown and walkable to pretty much everything. The place itself was great - had everything we needed and was very clean. Lots of character too! If I was ever coming back to Bedford, this would be the first place I would try to stay.

We had an excellent stay here. Loft was very quaint and comfortable. Great for romantic get-a-way or short stay for business. Accommodates 3 easily and 4 in pinch. Innkeeper was very gracious and easy to work with. Coffee shop next door very pleasant. My dog was happy here too!

I spent the first week of July at the loft and had a WONDERFUL experience! I was traveling from Georgia to Virginia to attend classes at Liberty University and the loft was a great alternative to a hotel. I had about a 25 min drive to Lynchburg every morning but hit zero traffic! Wish I was able to have stayed longer and gotten to enjoy the cute little town more! I did; however, take a thirty minute drive out to the lake one day which was also beautiful! I will definitely be back again!

Owner response: Thank you very much for your very favorable review of the Loft, Allison. A number of our guests have been students or teachers at Lynchburgs Liberty University, and, like you, they found the Loft, in nearby Bedford, to be a unique and affordable alternative to Lynchburg hotels. We certainly hope you will be able to make your way back up from Georgia soon, and hey, you now qualify for our most favored guest discounts!
The Loft was perfect for us...3 adults and a dog. Enough room and everything we needed to feel at home. Bedford is a quiet little town. Very peaceful. The coffee shop downstairs is great. Everyone is so nice. We rode from there every day into the hills, or down towards the lake. Roanoke and Lynchburg are a short drive. And the Peaks of Otter is worth the trip. We had a great stay. We'll be back.
