The Hula Breeze is a licensed vacation rental located on a secluded road, only a few short blocks from Kailua beach and minutes from Lanikai Beach. Nestled among tropical gardens, we have taken care to create a refuge of comfort that is designed to meet all your needs.
The Pineapple Suite is spacious and clean. It has a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, sink, microwave, hot-plate dishes and cutlery. We also offer a BBQ.
We provide you with fresh local fruit and coffee for your first morning, but you may want to stock up on fresh produce at the local farmers market (Thursday mornings from 9 am -10 am) just a 5 minute walk from us.
You will be lulled to sleep by the gentle tropical breeze. You will awaken refreshed after sleeping between luxurious sheets of 400 thread count. After savoring a breakfast of local fruit and Kona coffee, enjoy sitting by the sparkling pool on the lanai while listening to exotic bird songs.
Help yourself to a boogie board, beach chair and towel and take a seven minute stroll through a residential neighborhood, protected from traffic and crowds, as you make your way to Kailua Beach.
Rated among one of the best beaches in the US, here you will be welcomed by warm ocean breezes, turquoise blue waters and white sand that is soft and warm. Remember how it felt to be a carefree kid on summer break? Here you can relive those memories.
Go ahead and rent a kayak, surf board, paddle board, bike, kite board or windsurfing gear…all just 10 minutes from your guest suite. The ocean is your playground. Shopping, tennis and golf are also nearby!
Stop off at the famous Kalapawai Market where they can make you a delicious deli sandwich for a picnic lunch or serve up a latte just the way you like it.
Once you return to your home away from home at the Hula Breeze, rinse off in the outdoor shower, hang your wet things out to dry and perhaps take a nice nap before heading out to the charming town of Kailua. You’ll be surprised to find many restaurants to choose from in all price ranges.
You will be eager to return to your spacious suite where you may lounge on your comfy bed and perhaps enjoy some pineapple/coconut ice cream….sure to give you the sweetest of dreams.
If you choose to venture out to explore, Kailua is the perfect get-anywhere location. The island of Oahu is only 40 miles tip-to-tip, so you can explore it all quite easily. Honolulu and Waikiki are just a half-hour away. As your on-site hosts, we will help you discover and enjoy our beautiful island.
Sven and Allison live on site and we are happy to help you with any questions and to provide you with our local knowledge. We have a dog on-site...Ellie. She is a very friendly Bernese Mt. dog who is wondering how she ended up in Hawaii.
We welcome you to come stay at the Hula Breeze and enjoy all the wonderful delights that Hawaii and Kailua have to offer!

Why the Owner Chose Kailua
We have lived in many spectacular places, but Kailua offers us the ideal location to pursue all our passions. One of the most beautiful beaches in the world is just a few blocks away. Hiking, biking, golfing, kayaking, windsurfing, kite-boarding and more are available just a few minutes from our home. We can walk to the quaint town of Kailua or take a 30 minute drive to Honolulu for world class cuisine. The tropical weather allows us to enjoy water sports all year long! Not to mention the warmth and kindness of our Hawaiian neighbors. We have found one of the greatest places on earth!
Owner's Map of Kailua
We love to travel and we love our Hawaiian home. In 1998 we took a year off to visit 17 different countries. Our travel experience gives us first-hand knowledge of what makes a simple room a “second home." Sven speaks fluent German. Allison is a counselor who listens well in any language. Ellie is our friendly Bernese Mt. Dog who wonders how she ended up in Hawaii. We are happy to share our “local” perspective on activities, sites to visit and restaurants.

We love our stay at the Hula Breeze! Such a peaceful, quiet neighborhood; we can't imagine staying in one of those massive and busy hotels. It was like coming home every night by driving through the neighborhood, pulling in the driveway and walking right into our suite. Forget parking garages, elevators, walking through the lobby to find your tower and an endless walk down a hallway, this is much better. Having the kitchenette and laundry availability was a lifesaver!!! Allison and Sven were exceptional hosts!!

Thank you Allison and Sven--You made us feel very comfortable. We loved being in a quiet neighborhood and being able to walk to the beach (one of the most incedible beaches in the world), and to town for dinner and shopping. Driving to Honolulu was easily accomplished over the Pali. We also loved driving to the North Shore on the quieter roads on the east side of Oha'u. You were very helpful in answering all of our questions and I will highly recommend your B&B to my friends and family. We hope we are able to stay again in the future.

With the help of Allison's Hula Breeze web site, we were able to pick a great spot for our stay in Oahu. Allison welcomed us and was available if we needed any info. We found her recommendations on hikes, restaurants, etc. fit our taste. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely do it again.

Had an exquisite, relaxing visit -- easy walking to beach, coffee at Kalawapai Market, snacks at Buzz's. Appreciated the neighborhood vibe and the non-invasive hospitality of our hosts. Great launching location for east side and north shore beach exploration. And close enough to Honolulu for downtown action :)

Allison and Sven supplied lots of advice and every possible convenience to make easily confused travelers like us comfortable. They included a map with landmarks inked in to keep us from getting lost and restaurant reviews, as well as pool and beach supplies. They are so nice, it's like staying with good friends. The room and pool are really lovely. We hope to stay with them again.

We stayed in this cottage for almost 2 weeks and we felt right at home. The neighborhood is quiet, the house is darling, and the pool and grounds are lovely. We loved walking down to Kailua Beach in the morning to watch the sun come up. In the evening, we often would walk to Kailua Town for dinner. We will definitely stay there again!

My husband and I stayed at the Pineapple Suite, May 2010, and enjoyed our stay immensely. The room is "as advertised." It is very nice and comfortable. The surroundings are very safe, as well. The beach is within walking distance of the house. Kailua is a very beautiful area (where the Pineapple Suite is located.) The beaches are amazing. Allison and Sven were very helpful with recommendations of restaurants and so forth. Ellie, their dog was sweet, too. I would highly recommend this rental unit to everyone. This unit is close to shopping, restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores. Thanks Allison! You helped make our first trip to Hawaii memorable. We will definitely be back to stay in the Pineapple Suite.

We had the best vacation ever and Allison and Sven will always be a part of that wonderful memory! They are the most helpful and friendliest couple you will ever meet. We loved The Pineapple Suite and how convienent it was to the beach, Kawapalei Market, kayak rentals, restaurants - all within easy walking distance from the room. The Pineapple Suite is situated in a nice, safe neighborhood. Their grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Allison and Sven create such a layed back and welcoming sense about The Pineapple Suite that anyone would enjoy and find as the perfect retreat in Hawaii!
