For those who want the finest of furnishings and total privacy, Bohemian Rhapsody is perfect.
This lovely, secluded two bedroom, one bath cabin is surrounded by only redwood trees, and overlooks Dutchbill creek. It's only a few minutes drive to either downtown Monte Rio's river beach & boat rental, movie theater, and dining, or downtown Occidental.
House:
"Is this the real life or is this just fantasy?" Bohemian Rhapsody (~1244sf) is a traditional river home with wood paneling and hardwood floors, updated with oriental rugs and original art.
The living room has a unique barreled ceiling, and features a wood burning fireplace, TV with DVD, and comfortable seating. Off the living room, there's a formal dining room with window walls that offer a great view of the surrounding forest.
Off the living and dining rooms, there's a large, multi-level deck overlooking the creek. The kitchen is modern, with every convenience. Sleeping 4, each bedroom has a queen bed, one of which has a luxurious duxiana mattress, and both rooms have forest views.
The bathroom is newly remodeled with a tub/shower. For those who want to stay connected, there's wireless high-speed Internet access.
Grounds:
The entire ½ acre incorporates a grove of redwood trees and is securely fenced. There is no other house in the vicinity -- this is one of our most secluded homes. The creek is year-round, although it may slow to a trickle in the fall before the rains start.
In the winter and spring, it is a major creek, with lots of flow and clear, sparkling water. The expansive decks have three levels with sunny areas and lots of patio furniture. There is a set of steps up to the front porch.
From the living and dining rooms, there's a deck with a dining set and gas grill. A few steps down lead to a deck with a hot tub. A few more steps down lead to another deck with loungers, overlooking the creek. And for great fun, there is a bocce ball court!
