We wanted to get out of Washington DC for the weekend and go skiing in Snowshoe. This cabin was perfect for our needs - very well maintained and outfitted for our needs, exceptionally clean, and a great peaceful location in the woods. Would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Although our trip from MD was slowed by icy, snow-covered roads, we had no problem reaching this secluded hide-away. This cabin was exactly what we needed and better than we anticipated. Very well outfitted with kitchen needs, comfortable furnishings, a selection of reading material, and movies. Standing on the front porch, one couldn't help to notice how incredibly quiet and peaceful the area is. Spruce Knob could be seen through the trees. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit on New Year Eve with a clear view of the star-lit West Virginia sky. The worst part of the trip was having to leave. We have stayed in several VRBO rentals, this was a very nice HOME and our best find yet. Thank you to the owners for sharing.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This rental is perfect for a couple get away. It's secluded but still within 15 minutes of a mini-mart & gas station. The Gateway Restaurant is just down the hill about 5 minutes, which means no one has to do any cooking. If you love being in the mountains this is the place for your holiday. The cabin was exceptionally clean. Outside there was a round built-for-two lounge that my husband & I used to star gaze while sitting by the fire pit. Absolutely romantic. We were also lucky enough to be there during the beautiful fall colors of the trees. We enjoyed Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks & Caverns, along with just driving around looking at the scenery.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.

We stayed here for four nights on our honeymoon, and loved it! The kitchen was wonderfully stocked and ready for cooking, the place was comfortable and clean, and the owners were quite available. Close enough to Seneca, but far away from neighbors. Very secluded! The Monongahela Nat'l Forest is right next door, and stunningly beautiful. (There's a hiking guide in the cabin.) We greatly enjoyed the porch, grill, and firepit, and would definitely come back again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent Christmas at this cabin, and had a great time. This place allows you to get away from it all, and spend some time around the fireplace. It has a great location backed up against Spruce Knob forest with plenty of outdoor opportunities for outdoor activities: hiking in Spruce Knob/Seneca Rocks/Dolly Sods/Roaring Plains, skiing in Canaan Valley, canoeing/kayaking on the North Fork. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. Also a great view for sunset over a valley was nice. We would definitely come back in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

We have stayed in this cabin several times and will keep going back. It is in a secluded, forested area but is still near all of the local attractions. We like sitting on the porch and watch the deer. The rooms are spacious. We love it!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: We are University professionals that were looking for a mountain retreat away from the city. At first sight we fell in love with the cabin and the area. We love the outdoors, privacy and all that it offers, so this place was perfect for us. We can hike, fish, bike, kayak, ski all within a short drive or walk right out our door. We still have so much more to explore in the area and the people here are all so friendly. It is truley Almost Heaven!
Why the Owner Chose Seneca Rocks:
My husband was born in WV and we wanted to give back to the Mountain State! WV has so much natural beauty and wild life and yet with a short drive you can be in a small town or upbeat city.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our cabin offers the chance for total relaxation, away from cell phones and computers as it is in the Quiet Zone. But we also offer all the modern facilities that you will need to enjoy your mountain get away.
