Why Cheryl Green chose Tahoe City
We fell in love with the location. This cabin has watched my 3 children grow up and now it has become a favorite destination for my grand children. My late husband and I shared many weekends at the cabin, creating many wonderful memories. My hope is that others will walk away, after a stay at this cabin, with memories that will last a lifetime.
What makes this Cabin unique
There is something about looking out a window and seeing a mother bear and her cubs, that makes your heart skip a beat with wonder and excitement. Sitting quietly in the hot tub, catching snowflakes on your tongue as the steam surrounds you. Hiking through the empty woods for hours and then relaxing in front of a warm fire with a good book. Walking or taking a snow mobile into town, just to reassure myself that I am not the only human being left on earth.

Wonderful cabin feel with sophisticated and comfortable touches throughout. Great for 2-3 family's
Thumbs up from our family. The fireplace in the main room was the highlight for me. Location was good. But not it's not walking distance to downtown Tahoe City. A short drive though. Highly recommended.
Great place, but WiFi did not work.
Location: Great location. Very close to Tahoe shops and restaurants, ski resorts and freeway.
Cabin: The cabin doesn’t disappoint in terms of decorations. There are more bears than you can count, antler decorations, Christmas lights and wonderful communal areas. The house is both for groups to come together and peel off to do their own thing, with many floors and sections. The hot tub is also wonderful, just steps from the cabin!
One warning: The Bed on the very bottom floor near to where you park your car is very hard. We only had four people in the house for several days but considered putting two people in one bedroom as a result, which was kind of silly because the house is so large. It feels as though the memory foam has gotten old or petrified.
A small nit: The stove was only half working, even when we tried to relight the burners. But we made out fine as there were five to work with.
Host Communication:Cheryl responded when we called her the first night but didn’t take action when we told her the internet wasn’t working. As this was over Christmas it might have been understandable but she actually knew it wasn’t working prior to us arriving, which was troubling because part of the reason we choose Bear cabin was for the hot tub and proximity to things, but the other reason was it’s advertised strong wifi.
Internet access was a key criteria in booking over the holidays. Had we known ahead of time that there would be no internet access (as well as practically no cell service), we would have wanted to discuss a plan of action or modification of the rental terms prior to leaving the Bay Area. Unfortunately, the lack of internet access meant that we have had to go home a day early to accommodate work needs, which we had planned to take care of in Tahoe.
Great location in Tahoe City with tons of character
This is the cabin we were hoping to find near Tahoe City. The location is very private, backing up to a forest with no houses directly visible from the main viewing windows / rear deck, yet still located within easy walking distance to nearby attractions. Very cozy with lots of character; it's obvious that a lot of thought and pride went into making the house what it is today. The sort of place that you can relax on the couch and admire the surroundings/craftsmanship for hours.
The owner was very responsive and a pleasure to speak with over the phone. We did not have experience any issues during our stay, but I feel confident that she would have taken care of anything that came up. Looking forward to returning many more times in the future.
Beautiful home! Amazing location! Had an incredible time and definitely plan to return. Thank you!
Thank you for letting us stay at your cozy Tahoe cabin! We had an incredible time and can't wait for round two.
Great Location, Great House, Great Experience
This house has an easily accessible location in Tahoe City near Tahoe City and the surrounding area's necessities. You are never too far from anything one would desire.
The house too has all you need including a fire pit, hot tub, and all the fixings to stay at the house and cook and relax.
We would definitely recommend the Bear Cabin to anyone looking for a Tahoe getaway.
Great Tahoe Getaway!
We had a wonderful time in the Bear Cabin! The place is very well appointed. Both spacious and cozy all at the same time. We hit the slopes and recovered in the hot tub afterwards. Couldn't ask for more.
