About John Lyons

The owners are Northern California natives and have been spending time in Tahoe all their lives. The house is operated under professional property management.

Why John Lyons chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

There's a saying, "The West Shore is the Best Shore". Tahoma is perfectly situated in the some of the least developed shoreline of Tahoe, yet is centrally located. In winter, the house is 5 minutes from Homewood, 20 minutes from Squaw/Alpine, and 45 minutes from Heavenly. You can ski the entire Tahoe area. In summer, there are vast expanses of state park and national forest land, accessible within a 5 minute walk from the front door. Hiking and mountain biking options are great, & there are trails not widely known or crowded. There are great beaches in the area - Chambers Landing, Meeks Bay & DL Bliss are close. Tahoe City is a 12 minute drive. Stateline and the casinos are about 40 minutes away.

Comfortable beds, great hot tub. Nice upstairs area for the kids and a nice great room on the main floor for evenings at home. Would definitely book again!

Great vacation property

  • 5 of 5

We visited and stayed at this property during thanksgiving as a group of 6 adults and 2 kids and had a great time! The house is warm, cozy, clean and the decor lends a somewhat rustic feel to it. The living room and kitchen has an open floor plan so everyone can hang out in the same area without crowding it. The backyard is of decent size, although we couldn't explore much due to the snow and it also houses a nice hot tub big enough to seat 4 adults easily. It is not too far from the lake, although I wouldn't say it is walking distance (atleast we didn't see any trail leading up to the lake). PDQ market is a very short drive (or even a walk) away in case you need any last minute grocery/quick bite.

If you reserve, John will call you personally and explain the checkin procedure, answer any questions you may have. The staff at the property management is also super friendly and available by phone in case you need any help during the stay.

Would definitely like to visit again.

Amazing house

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was delightful. The house was very spacious for two families. The kids loved the room with the bunk beds. This room lacked window screens unlike other bedrooms. Furnishings were well appointed and exceptionally clean. Beds were very comfortable. This was our first visit to Tahoe in the summer and we had a very enjoyable stay.

Loved it so much! Talking about return for Thanksgiving or Christmas family celebration

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and her cousins exclaimed "wow!" when they saw the bunk bed room. The next morning they were excited that they could see the stars at night through the skylight while lying in bed. This is a perfect house for families. We LOVED the "en suite" bathrooms - not something other houses I looked at had. The hot tub was a HUGE hit for all ages in our party. We also loved the backyard with the hammock and bench swing. The yard is quite private compared to other cabins I've been in. The kitchen was stocked with all the equipment we could ask for and we loved seeing kids' plates. Our multi generation family had an absolute blast here. We are already talking about coming back. It'd be a great place for us to gather the family for Thanksgiving or Christmas. There was something for everyone - quiet relaxation to active pursuits and great location.

Beautiful home, a perfect Tahoe get-away

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect get-away vacation home for our family. We spent 4 days here with our two kids under the age of 10 and loved the home! The house is warmly decorated with many alpine touches and the A-line vaulted ceilings with skylights everywhere make the entire house very well-lit and spacious. There are also many bathrooms in this home which is perfect for families.

My kids loved the kids room - and really enjoyed the bunk beds and the large areas for reading, and playing. The kitchen is very well-stocked with everything you can imagine to make a meal or entertain. We were also pleasantly surprised to find kid-friendly cups, plates and silverware. The hot tub area is lovely, with a nice, private backyard area. We used the hot tub every day.

The location of the home was convenient to Meeks Bay and local hiking trails as well as Emerald Bay and Tahoe City. The convenience of the home made it easy for us to plan each day and do many activities with our kids both at the house and in the area. We had a great time here! The kids are already asking when we can come back!!!
