About The Owner

We purchased this house in 1998 after getting married earlier that year. We lived in this home for 12 years, raised our children and created some of our most special memories. Our family has deep roots in Tahoe. We are 4th and 5th generations that have resided in the Tahoma and Homewood areas of the West Shore. We love the West Shore and could not imagine living anywhere else.

The Owner purchased this house in 1998

Why The Owner chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

The Timber Wolf House is located on a quiet street in a wonderful neighborhood.

What makes this house unique

Because this was our personal home for 12 years, we added a lot of personal home features which make it more than just a bare vacation rental. The home is also located in a quiet neighborhood and street where you do not have to worry about traffic noise. It is a walk to Chamber's Landing Beach & Bar and 2 miles from Homewood Ski Resort.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. From the fireplace to games with lots of space to enjoy, we had a delightful time. It's convenient to Homewood skiing - and Lake Tahoe - and the restaurants! The lake is always such a draw even if it is just to look at! Such beauty. The kitchen is great to work in - gourmet with top of the line appliances. We had an issue with the washer and they responded so quickly! I'd highly recommend it - very nice!

Beautiful house, perfectly equiped and in a very nice location!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with some friend in July 2017, and the experience was perfect! We received a perfectly cleaned house, with all the necessary equipment for a great stay. We enjoyed its beautiful backyard, bbq area and hot tub, as well as its comfortable common areas and rooms. I totally recommend this place!

Weekend skiing and sightseeing

  • 5 of 5

Four adults and four teenagers had a wonderful time at this home. Clean, spacious, well equipped, comfortable and very cosy. Someone put a lot of love into this home. Pictures do not do it justice. Our 5' 6" teen had plenty of room in the "toddler" bed and the room without a door is downstairs which separates it out, especially with the provided screen, although sound does travel. Remote controlled fireplace had bodies curled in front of it all weekend. Beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was a lot of fun to cook in and the large dining table accommodated our group. Joanne was very responsive and helpful. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Comfortable home for 6 adults and 2 small children

  • 4 of 5

First of all, the property manager was extremely responsive and attentive, which was wonderful. Secondly, this home is very comfortable and clean. The hot tub was a nice treat after a long day of skiing at nearby Homewood. I have no complaints, only a few suggestions for anyone else looking to stay here.

This home is best suited for up to 6 adults and 2 small children. We had planned on having a 7 year old and a 12 year old sleep in the "kids" room, but the 12 year old was way too big for the bed (not sure they were actually twin beds). We also had 4 kids sleeping in the downstairs room. However, there was only one thin blanket provided for the second futon bed. We had to use 2 small throw blankets from the living room to keep the kids warm. If the futon is being advertised as an actual bed, there really should be a comforter for this bed. And more blankets would be nice for those cold Tahoe nights.

We would stay here again if we didn't have quite as many people. 10 was a bit too many in my opinion. We still had fun, though! Thank you!

Comfortable home, accommodating host, and perfect location to north or south lake.

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I were so pleased with our weekend at Joanne's home. We were able to get to Homewood (North/West Lake), Heavenly, and Kirkwood (south Lake) relatively quickly. The kitchen was great for us to prepare meals for a larger party (7 people). We all slept comfortably and truly enjoyed our stay. I recommend this home to anyone traveling in the area.

Short ski trip to Tahoe. Great location and experience

  • 5 of 5

We rent up in Tahoe a decent amount and this property was one of our better experiences. The property itself is really well maintained and location was great. Our group was 3 adults and 2 kids (5 and 2 yr old) and the layout of the house worked really well for us as my mother-in-law and our kids could safely navigate the house without issue. Being only ~2 miles to Homewood and ~1 mile to Obexer's General Store also made things really convenient. Hot tub is always a plus on these trips and it was clean and ready to go upon arrival. However, it was snowing a ton so we didn't use it as much as we normally would have.

Property management was awesome as Joanne was very responsive and helpful. While there in early January a few feet of snow fell which could have created some issues. However, our street and driveway were plowed everyday and the generator immediately kicked on when I guess the normal power went out. No compaints here and we would definitely like to rent this property again.

Family Snow Trip

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for a family get away to the snow. Upon arrival, the phone rang and we answered it and we received a call from the manager of the property asking us if we needed anything and to give us information on local restaurants in the area. After we got settled we contacted her because of the snow storm we were unable to get the cable to work on the TV. She did everything you could to help us get it working in even offered to pay for movies when it did come on..We have been to the snow before so we understood this kind of stuff happens during it snow storm. See even called us and notified us when the weather looks like it was turning for the worst and gave us tips and pointers on our departure. We really enjoyed the house and would definitely rent it again. My only suggestion would be for more sitting available in the family room since it does sleep 10 people we only had 7 and we did have people sitting on the floor.

It was clean and well stocked for our stay and when the power went out from the storm, the generator started up and kept everything going.

We truly had a great family getaway, even with the storm.

Looking forward to another trip up there this year.
