About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)

Parkside Escape is one of the very few cabins on property which actually adjoins the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Located in prestigious Chalet Village, Parkside Escape is just a five minute drive from Ober Gatlinburgs ski slopes, minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, and a short twenty minute drive from Pigeon Forge.

While taking advantage of Parkside Escape's private, high-altitude setting, however, guests quickly forget the proximity of both cities. The perimeter Park Trail is literally twenty-five feet away from the back porch, allowing guests easy access to the beauty of the Park. For our less adventurous guests, our cabin features 1200 sq ft. of covered deck space, perfect for entertaining, enjoying the mountain views, or simply relaxing in the hot tub.

Parkside Escape is tastefully decorated in antiques, and quality furnishings. The large master bath includes a custom-crafted sauna and a slate shower with dual shower heads. A sleeper sofa allows this cabin to accommodate four people overnight without being cramped or uncomfortable.

The kitchen is fully equipped with Calphalon cookware, and along with the dining room, provides a spacious area for guests to entertain. Guests may choose to take advantage of the slate pool table or simply gather around the gas fireplace.

Whether taking advantage of Parkside Escape's privacy and luxury for a romantic getaway, or entertaining your favorite skiing partners, we believe our cabin will provide guests with the perfect access to the beauty and excitement of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Best cabin in Gatlinburg

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was great! Had everything you could want or need. Wonderfully decorated! Owner spared no expense on this one. Loved the pool table being downstairs in the main living area. Great wraparound porch! The driveway was a little tricky getting into, especially if you have a very large vehicle, but, otherwise, beautiful cabin and grounds and very, very clean.

Beautiful well appointed cabin!

  • 4 of 5

First of all let me say that we had an outstanding overall trip to Gatlinburg. We're from Michigan and just wanted to get away and we did. This cabin fit the bill - we loved the decor and comfort and enjoyed the deck and hot tub. We didn't use the sauna on this trip but it's very nice and well designed. Our only real issue with the cabin is very weak water pressure in the shower. Now - as to getting to the cabin..... We made what I consider to be a mistake by driving our large Chevy Silverado truck into the mountains. The roads leading up to the cabin are steep and narrow with sheer drop offs. Very intimidating for city folk! The driveway is also very very steep and narrow. I think if we had driven our Subaru Outback we would not have been nearly as stressed out over the drive. As it was we were only willing to go down and back up once per day - just didn't want to face that drive in the truck. I think it would be good to let folks know to leave the bigger vehicle at home. In many places I just would have been terribly uncomfortable trying to get two vehicles past one another - fortunately we never were faced with that! The cabin was so nice that I think we would face the drive again up and down the mountain again to stay there - but we would definitely leave the bigger vehicle home!!

Great place.

  • 5 of 5

Property was extremely clean. Very nice. Had everything that one would need. Road was a little tricky but what was expected . Best if you bring food up on your trip you don't like driving mtn. Roads. Really would have been rough if it had snowed. Didn't see bears but did have a raccoon show up. Enjoyed theJacuzzi and hammock. Will visit again. Hoping for a spring trip.

Weekend getaway

  • 3 of 5

The cabin was lovely. However, if you run the sauna, the upstairs quickly transforms into the face of the sun. We couldn't sleep well the first night, it was so hot. We opened all the upstairs windows vent and had to turn the air on too. The first night, the hot tub didn't heat up. It was on 76 when we arrived around 4:30, we moved it to 104 and by 10pm it was still only 97. That was disappointing. And there were no extra blankets in the cabin at all. Just what was on the bed. We had to use the king size quilt from upstairs to snuggle on the couch. All in all, it was a little pricey for what the value of our experience was. We love to travel and this was not our favorite trip.
