Travel through magnificent redwood groves or up the spectacular Pacific Coast Highway to this ultra-private getaway. Nestled in a secluded canyon among a forest of fir trees, you'll feel like you're perched high in a tree-house with views of the Pacific Ocean and Point Arena Lighthouse.
Eco-friendly finishes and calming color scheme. King and Queen custom beds.
Slate and hardwood floors make this a pet-friendly environment. This is a great place to get away from it all, relax and unwind.
Fabulous restaurants in nearby Elk and Mendocino. Private beach nearby provides endless hours of relaxation.
This place was great. I'm definitely already thinking about when to go back. I'm pretty much in love with the kitchen; I'd go back just for that. The house is nicely secluded, surrounded by trees, which make a nice backdrop for relaxing in the hot tub, or sitting on the patio with a mug of tea. Just seeing so much greenery is soothing. I like that you can hear the ocean from the house too even though it is right on the beach. The little pellet stove is super easy to use, and they have nice labels and instructions on things (although the upstairs shower was a bit intimidating.) It was supposed to rain all weekend, but we did get some clear weather on Saturday and went down to the private access beach, which was very nice with some dramatic rock formations and lots of driftwood for photography or building forts. I grew up going to the coast in Oregon over the summers, so a bit of grey and overcast on the beach is right up my alley, and makes for better photos than a nice clear day anyway. I had brought up some of my own cooking stuff since I didn't know what all they would have, but it wasn't necessary. They have pretty much everything - even a large stockpot if you want to make a big batch of soup or chili. They have a wine opener too - very important. We were not sure if there was a separate bin for recycling, but other than that everything is super easy and the stay went smoothly. At night you can even see some stars from the skylight windows in the bedroom. Once I sort through the literally thousands of photos I took maybe I will put some on instagram with the house's tag.
The house was beautiful. The forest surrounding the house was just fantastic. The hot tub was a bit small for four adults (mostly foot room)... but we made it work. I have to say the only thing that I would critique would be the lack of a garbage service. Oh and we would have cleaned up a bit more but the vaccume was horrible and spit more out than it sucked up. I can't remember if it was written in the ammenties but you could mention the size of the refrigerator. It is very small. It was fine for a long weekend but if you have folks staying longer... you may note it. Other than that WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF OUR STAY!!!
Had a great time , beautiful views, great house, was better than expected!
Great location. House is great. Plenty to explore in surrounding areas.
The property was extraordinarily beautiful and comfortable. The area was spectacular. We look forward to returning someday.
Our 5 days at Casa Canon were lovely... the setting is gorgeous and it's a great place to spend some quality time totally disconnected from the hubbub of regular life. We enjoyed exploring the nearby beach, the Point Arena Lighthouse, and exploring the coast. The kitchen was stocked with a good mix of pans and tools, so cooking nice meals was easy. We hope to return soon!
Wine-tasting in pristine Anderson Valley (20 plus wineries to choose from with award-winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel varietals). Historic Point Arena Lighthouse just five miles south. Deep-sea fishing trips available at nearby Fort Bragg
