Because you will love your visit to Driftwood!
Comfortable, convenient and private with it's own private beach access.
My husband and I had a great stay at Driftwood with our two little girls. There was a spacious front and backyard for the kids to play in. The owner was easy to work with and made it a breeze. Everything in the home was easy to find and well labeled. The water filter in the kitchen was a bonus, as we did not need bottled water during our visit. The girls loved the rope swing and tetherball in the front yard. There was plenty for them to do at the house without bringing anything from home. Although the caretaker lives on the property we never saw her once so it felt very private. We only did the trip to the beach once as the walk was pretty long, and the climb over the driftwood to get the beach itself was a bit much for us. With that said the beaches in the area were really fun as there is a ton of driftwood on every beach in the area, and our kids had a blast building at every beach we explored during our visit. We went to Manchester Beach, Irish Beach, the Point Arena lighthouse, and some other places with coastal access. We checked out the towns in both directions. We did laundry once at the Wash House in Anchor Bay. Our favorite spot for dinner was Bridget Dolan's Pub in Elk. The Elk Store makes great sandwiches, and we did a few picnics with those. The breakfast we had at Circa 62 in Little River was well worth the drive. We went into Fort Bragg and had fish and chips and chowder at Sea Pal Cove. Manchester seems to have more fog that some of the surrounding areas, but we had a great time staying here. Although we prefer a property with easier/closer beach access, I have to say the view from the property was amazing. Overall, a wonderful vacation house that I would definitely recommend to others..
Driftwood has everything on my wish list for a beach front vacation in Mendocino area. The location is ideal. We explored Mendocino and Fort Bragg. But our favorite adventure actually did not need a car at all. It is the private path to the beach. The ocean view was amazing. We were there in early July and the wild flowers on the hill along the path were quite spectacular, very colorful. The interior was very clean and comfortable. Everything was well labeled and easy to find. Except food, I had everything I need in the kitchen. Kids were having fun playing board games. We were so relaxed and happy. Our family of 5 plus 2 dogs had a great weekend at Driftwood.
Our family had a great time in the house, spacious room warm fireplace, kids toys and DVD, hot tub with ocean view and telescope to watch the star, I can't name more...Owner is extremely helpful and friendly. If I am going there again I will definitely stay there again. Thank you so much , Doug.
We really enjoyed our stay at Driftwood and will be back! We love having a trail to walk our dog down to the beach and enjoying the views of the ocean and sunsets! We also enjoyed having the extra goodies for our dog and having a fenced in yard. Being a short drive from the market was also nice for picking up food.
My husband and I rented this wonderful vacation home for 4 days. If you want to be off the beaten track and enjoy a peaceful, quiet and relaxing time this is the place to go. You can still go for a fun drive to Point Arena Lighthouse and Museum for the day or drive over to the wharf. We even had breakfast in Elk one morning at Queenie's Roadhouse. It was very good. Oh and our dog loved it as well!!!!!
S and B Market just 2 1/2 miles south of Driftwood, S and B Market is a complete grocery and hardware store for unbeatable convenience on the Mendocino Coast.
