We were very impressed with the overall property. They had everything you needed on the site. We definitely enjoyed our time really enjoyed playing ping-pong, and the outdoors was beautiful, especially the wildlife in the yard every day.
Without a doubt the nicest place we’ve had the pleasure to stay in! Beautiful time of year with the leaves changing and crisp weather. We will certainly be back!
This property is appropriately named, as we saw deer grazing and wondering through almost every day. The description accurately describes the home, features, and views. And the drive up through the Pisgah Forest subdivision!!It's remote and secluded, but worth the journey!!
Our family had a fabulous time at this home. It is in outstanding condition and so clean. There were so many games and toys for my grandchildren plus all of the outside games that are available. The kitchen had everything you could possible need along with some great surprise items. The creek and the large backyard are added bonuses and its location so close to Dupont State Forest and Brevard is another plus. Would love to stay here again.

We had an amazing time staying at Deer Path! Our kids loved playing in the creek and seeing the deer and bunnies in the backyard at dusk/dawn. A close drive (20 minutes) to Brevard for fun restaurants and entertainment, Pisgah National Forest for beautiful hikes, and more. The property was very clean, well stocked with cleaning supplies, dish and laundry soap, cooking/utensils, firewood for fire pit (we did not partake but saw the supply), games, and internet was nice for tv or calls when we were indoors. The management team was very responsive in helping us and got back to us promptly with any questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Thank you for your review. Ken and I spoke concerning these issues. We were certainly not aware of any hot water issues from any of our dozens of previous guests. We've made arrangements to have someone check the plumbing as well as clean the jetted tub.
Thanks again for your valuable input!
This home has become a "usual" getaway for us when we want to escape to the mountains. The location is perfect for outdoor activities with Dupont State Park and Pisgah National Forest just a few minutes away. We love riding our bikes in Dupont and it's super close. The home is well stocked and has everything we need for a comfortable stay. Some days, we just love hanging out at the house. The peaceful setting makes it extremely relaxing when you just want to curl up with a book or have a movie marathon. The kitchen is well designed to make delicious meals to enjoy as you watch the sunset. I think the master bedroom has a new bed, which was a little too firm for me, but my husband loves it! I think this is our 4th or 5th stay, and we plan on going back as much as possible.
This was one of the nicest places we stayed. The house was extremely clean and in excellent condition. The road up the mountain was one of the easiest we've been on. It was paved and wide enough for two cars to get by without having to look for a place for someone to pull off. The property was very quiet. It was only about 15 minutes to DuPont and about 20 to Brevard and Pisgah. We didn't spend mich time at the house, but it did have some dvd's, games, puzzles, a ping pong table, and cornhole for guest use. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had.
Lovely place, clean, well stocked., nicely decorated.... But really, a queen bed of extreme height is not a good choice for a vaca rental; it was wrong for us and truly lacks universal appeal. It was not only too small for two average - not large - adults, but just felt unsafe. We did not sleep well the whole week. Speaking of unsafe: we walked the property, including the sloping driveway, which looked fine to the naked eye but was in places covered by algae/fungi/some kind of growth that turned out to be horribly slippery. In an instant, I fell hard on my backside and am still injured. Not a happy ending to a fairly nice stay, except for the bed issue.
Exactly what we were looking for. Great place to get away, yet close enough to attractions, such as Waterfalls, Brevard, and Pretty Place. Very well equipped with everything you need. Enjoyed greatly.
The property was beautiful! It has everything needed for a short term vacation. We loved the quiet and seclusion of the house. If that's what you're looking for near the beautiful town of Brevard, this is the place!
Lovely, comfortable houses with nice views and all the conveniences of home. Close to both the conveniences and charm of Brevard and endless natural wonders, including Pisgah National Forest, the waterfalls of DuPont State Park, and the Blue Ridge Parkway/Mountains.
Really enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and perfect for a getaway in the mountains. We especially enjoyed the herd of deer running and playing in the backyard - didn't know that deer can get the "zoomies" like dogs do. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Jeff, Thank you for the five star review. Love that you got to enjoy the deer playing.

This is a beautiful home in the perfect spot for all the outdoor fun offered in western NC. We were minutes away from Dupont State park (we actually rode our bikes there and back). The Blue Ridge Pkwy is about 50 minutes away, and Pisgah National Forest about 45 minutes. The house itself is extremely well stocked with everything you need. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a VRBO home. It was comfortable and private with beautiful sunsets. The sound of the nearby creek was a perfect backdrop to reading a book on the screened back porch. I can't say enough about this place. We loved it, and we will go back!
This place was just beyond our expectations. Our kids enjoyed playing at the creek. This house felt like home where every corner had a nice detail. If we come back to NC we will definitely come back to this house!
Very clean and comfortable house with a great mountain view. The whole family enjoyed the screened in porch, the deck and playing badminton in the backyard. Great beds, well-stocked kitchen and plenty of games, books and outdoor toys.
Great view, comfortable home, very accommodating host!

About the host
Hosted by Darlene Witham or Ron Mashburn
We vacationed at this beautiful home several years before purchasing it in November 2023. The proximity to all the outdoor adventures we love is what brought us here over and over again. It became our favorite vacation spot! Now that it is our home, we want to share it with others who have similar interests in the outdoors. Bring your family or friends, toys, your sense of adventure and make some of your best memories, here at Deer Path. David and Lynda Ward, Owners
Why they chose this property
Cycling is our favorite outdoor activity and our home is in the middle of more trails, forests, and roads than you can imagine. Nearby Brevard is called the Land of Waterfalls, so if hiking is on your list, you will literally find hundreds of hiking trails in this area. The Davidson and French Broad rivers are within minutes of the house for extraordinary fly fishing and kayaking.
What makes this property unique
While our home is situated in a serene and tranquil location, it is convenient to Brevard and Hendersonville for shopping and all the attractions these towns have to offer.
