The home is charming, spotless, and very “Napa.” We loved the décor, the layout, and the beautiful backyard. The owners were responsive, and the space was comfortable overall. Future guests should note that many wineries are far from Kenwood, so plan for extra travel time or transportation costs. The outdoor deck is also extremely slippery, which is clearly posted, but families with children may want to be cautious.Be sure to read the house rules closely. Our group ended up with five guests instead of four, and although the home sleeps six, the owners required full names for everyone and immediately charged the extra guest fee. While the fee is stated, the interaction felt stricter than expected. Also, the “no smoking” rule applies both indoors and outdoors, which isn’t clearly explained.During our stay, the owners entered the property to fix landscape lighting without notifying us beforehand, despite the rules stating they would reach out first. While the repair was appreciated, the lack of notice made us uncomfortable. After this visit, I received an email stating that a bag of trash was left outside and that smoking was not permitted. It felt like we were in trouble or something. As a group of working professionals, it put us off.Overall, the home is lovely and will work well for many travelers, but the strict rules and interactions with the owners left us feeling less welcome than we hoped.

Great 2BR cottage for a wine country getaway! Excellent, well-stocked kitchen with modern appliances. Great patio and garden area out back. Comfortable beds and high quality linens. Very quiet at night! The seating in the living room was very comfortable and the fireplace provided nice warmth on the cool evenings. The homeowners are very responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at the Kenwood house! The property was perfect for a girl weekend with 4 guests - we didn’t want to leave. The backyard is so charming and quiet - great for reading, relaxing in the hot tub, or enjoying a meal in the backyard. The hosts were so thoughtful and responsive. There are a few shops and restaurants in walking distance, but it was also super easy to get an uber to explore most of Sonoma county. I can’t recommend the kenwood house enough!

Oasis in The Park

The Kenwood House was exactly everything we hoped it would be. A country cottage with all the modern touches to make our visit comfy, cozy and convenient. Hiked in Jack London park, headed over the mountain one day to visit Napa area, then up to Healdsburg the second day for a wonderful wine tasting at Stonestreet Winery. Enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings. We recommend The Kenwood House to anyone looking for a country home away from home

Little bit of heaven

Thai cottage is even nicer than the pics and the hosts make it a remarkable experience. It’s close to great restaurants and wineries. The backyard is an oasis and the cottage feels at home the minute you walk in. The bed linens are lovely and Don and Amy know the little items that make it feel like home. Will be back next year…

Fairytale Cottage

We had a lovely experience staying at the Kenwood Cottage. It was very comfortable, had everything we needed and more! Our hosts were responsive and invested in us having an awesome experience. Perfect for the Weekend

My husband and I traveled to Kenwood with my childhood best friend to attend the BottleRock Festival in Napa. The Kenwood House was perfect for us and our stay. Our only disappointment was that we weren't able to enjoy the house amenities because of the busy festival schedule. We will definitely stay there again!

Little Slice of Heaven

The Kenwood House is so quaint, peaceful and beautiful! The location is perfect! Don and Amy are incredible hosts. We walked into the house to find gentle music playing, great bottle of wine and assortment of cheese in the fridge. Box of crackers on the counter and a personalized welcome letter. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s before but this way by far the best. They even had bottled water, eggs, milk in the fridge so we didn’t have to run right out to the grocery store. You can tell this is much more than a VRBO property to them. The location is perfect, you can walk to restaurants and a great winery. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!

Amy, a retired office manager and Don, a local landscape architect are long time residents of Sonoma County. The Kenwood House was purchased in 1971 by Don’s mom where he has lived off and on for 50 years. Amy moved to Santa Rosa as a little girl with her family in 1962. We met in 1994 and were married in 1998. We raised our blended family in Santa Rosa. During this time, the Kenwood House was established as one of the original vacation rentals in the Kenwood area. We ran this business continuously for 13 years providing a unique visitor experience and a high level of hospitality. In 2010 we decided to move to the Kenwood House to enjoy this special place ourselves. Now with an expanding extended family, we have moved on. Once again the Kenwood House is available for guests to enjoy during their visit to Sonoma County.

When we began this venture, one of our goals was to offer visitors from around the world a unique place to stay while experiencing and enjoying wine country in Kenwood, the heart of Sonoma Valley. It gives up great pleasure to share our home and offer the opportunity for our guests to make their own memories of their stay here.
