Benton Harbor stay

This place is very eclectic with a rustic vibe. It is more suited for adults and older kids. It is within 15 minutes of St. Joe, soneasy to get to restaurants and beaches.

Quaint stay

Lovely and unique collection of antiques and bathroom fixtures. Loved our stay. Spacious, enough room for 6. Keep in mind there are two bathrooms but only one shower so if you all need showers, keep in mind. Amenities included coffee, creamer and coffee flavoring. Grill and hot tub. Brought my own 8x10 pan and glad as no baking pans that I found. Easy in and out!

Hi Jill, We hope we made your holiday weekend more memorable with your stay at the Caretaker’s Cottage! The home has a spa like walk in shower with body jets being continuously fed with a softened water workhorse tankless water heater. There is an endless supply of crystal blue hot water for guest - even if they choose the soaking tub in the primary bath as well. The full size kitchen pantry cabinet is great for storage; items have their own space where glass cake pan and metal cooking trays can be found within its doors. All the best, Richlie

Cute Home, But Health & Cleanliness Issues Ruined Our Stay

We stayed at this property over Memorial Day weekend. While the home is charming and in a nice location, our experience was deeply disappointing and disturbing.Shortly after arrival, we noticed the house wasn’t very clean. By the next morning, ants had gotten into our breakfast—which we politely overlooked, hoping to still enjoy our trip.Unfortunately, things got much worse. Several members of our family developed bites and rashes, which have persisted even two weeks later. As a healthcare provider, I can confidently say these were bed bug bites. The idea that we were unknowingly ravished by bed bugs is absolutely mortifying.Out of courtesy for the next guest, we informed the host—not to ask for a refund, but to help prevent others from having the same experience. We were told the rashes were from the hot tub, which we supposedly weren’t allowed to use—despite having text messages from the host inviting us to enjoy it. Not only was our concern dismissed, but I felt insulted by the response and lack of accountability.We’ve stayed in many rentals and have never been so grossed out or disappointed. No one should leave a vacation still itching weeks later and feeling disrespected after trying to do the right thing. This property may look nice, but cleanliness, pest control, and professional communication were sorely lacking.
