Great family get away...
We had an amazing family vacation at this property. Every year we stay at a local property for the weekend and this one did not disappoint. We had the entire beach to ourselves and the property was so much fun with the main house and two cabins. Each couple was able to have there own space after eating dinner and played games together, then we walked to our cabins. Great property!! Thank you, Diane

The property is spectacular. The photos don't do it justice. Probably the best stocked VRBO kitchen I've ever rented.

Great family time
My family of 13, had a wonderful time at this house .it is beautiful and the views are unbelievable. My biggest complaint with the house are the stairs. The stairs climbing down to the swimming pool -the fire pit – the stairs going down to the master bedroom. This presented a problem for me and my husband because of our age and our bad knees .

Wonderful week long getaway
We just spent the week at Whidbey Island for a group reunion trip. We rented both the large house and the two smaller cabins. The property was great- very clean, plenty of space, and the views were truly incredible. We went hiking in Olympic National Park one day and on coming back to the house, saw the best view of the day from the top of the driveway. The hosts are very responsive and easy to get into contact with. Very friendly and great to communicate with. The house is ideally located between the ferry onto the island at Clinton and off the island to any neighboring areas through Coupeville or Anacortes. Our group enjoyed day trips to Port Townsend, Olympic National Park, Langley, Deception Pass, and Orcas Island. Honestly, you could make an entire trip out of sitting on the porch or in the hot tub or by the fire pit. What a terrific house! Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Highly recommend this property.

Beyond our wildest expectations
Fabulous property, house, grounds, accommodations, supplies. Property manager quick to respond to any questions. We didn't know what to expect from the 2 extra cottages/bedrooms but they were perfect for our couples without children. The main house bedrooms were great for the families, the master bedroom was great. View from every room spectacular! Everything was marvelous.

Dramatic views, perfect for large get-together
We stayed in early November, and I felt like this was a great place to stay in any season. Obviously the waterside pool is closed outside of summer, but it looked spectacular. We had 5 couples, two with kids, and the set-up was great for that. Couples who may want some privacy can stay in one of the detached bungalows, both which have bathrooms. The master bedroom is well insulated from sound; I'm not 100% sure if any of the bedrooms shared walls. Finally, the open floor plan of the kitchen and living room was perfect for a group of people cooking and socializing, and had amazing views.

Feels Like Home
Hard to say anything bad about this place. Beautiful views from nearly every part of the property, well-stocked facilities, wide range of entertainment options, and an a great value for the daily rate. Wish we could have seen it on a sunnier set of days, but all the more reason to come back some day :)

Outstandingly beautiful house and location
Fantastic views across Admiralty Inlet and hikes on the beach when the rain stopped. A great kitchen and dining set-up for an extended family Thanksgiving gathering -- ages 1 to 80 enjoyed it all. Comfy beds; soothing hot tub after football game; views everywhere. Thank you for sharing your home.

Amazing high end facility. Beautiful location
This was a perfect spot to share with our 5 children, their spouses and the new grandchildren. Plenty to enjoy, hiking, campfires, swimming, and hot tub. Kitchen was wonderfully stocked. We used produce from farmers market and convenient grocery store to cook great meals. Loved the separate cabins also. Dream vacation for families.

Lovely
This is a lovely house, extremely well equipped. The steep stairs to the house at the beach and to the Eagle's Nest, however, were a challenge for our group of seniors. Not as much exploring along the water line as we'd hoped.

Perfect WA getaway!
A group a friends booked the Whidbey house for a mom's weekend. Would highly recommend for family or group getaways. The upper floor has a beautiful view and is perfect for hanging out, cooking group meals or reading in the sunroom. The beach access and fire pit are all icing. Lovely home, highly responsive owners and all round amazing vacation - thanks!

Thank you Toni for a great time for our knitters group to gather in such a beautiful setting. Many in the group have stayed before and loved the remodel in the kitchen. Gorgeous views and easy access to runs, hikes and beach walks were the best. Thanks again

A Review for the Right and/or Left Brained
Right-Brained Review Day One: Post-card ready scenes including warm greetings, eagles fishing, otters romping, fish jumping, seals basking, porpoises playing, bunnies bounding, herons wading, deer visiting, hawks soaring, waves lapping, fiery sunsets, gentle moon rises, bedazzling meteor showers, and silent dawns. Days Two Through Eight: Re-view. Relax. Repeat. Left-Brained Review 1. All was as advertised. 2. Communications from the owner and property manager were timely and informative. 3. The pool was about five degrees warmer in the afternoon than in the morning. 4. The central location made for short (15-45 minute) trips to Coupevdlle, Langley, Oak Harbor, and Deception Pass. 5. Many options with sleeping arrangements for our three-generation family of fourteen. 6. The two cabins provided the opportunity for independent living in a world apart. 7. Everything was clean and functional. 8. There was a treasure trove of toys in the room under the lower cabin. 9. Having two dishwashers was a real bonus. 10. I'd suggest portable fans for the main house on warm (70 degrees or more) days. 11. Though well-lighted, some of the steps to the beach were in need of repair. 12. The steps to and from the beach might take a toll on people not used to climbing them, but with a four-wheel drive vehicle it's possible to drive to and from the beach, avoiding the steps entirely. 13. There were abundant books, games, DVDs, CDs for the multiple audio-video systems. 14. Staying here was like living in a private resort. 15. We'll be back!

GORGEOUS house in a peaceful setting
I rented this house and poolside cottage for my bridal party during my wedding weekend on Whidbey Island. The house is a PERFECT set up for a group of friends or a large family gathering. The great, well stocked kitchen and grill on a fabulous deck made it easy to cook meals for the group. You can't beat the views and the peaceful setting on beautiful Whidbey Island. We also used the house as our spot for getting ready for the wedding, which was perfect as well. We used the very spacious master bedroom for hair and makeup and enjoyed the fabulous views while we got ready. The pictures are fantastic! I am looking forward to returning some time during beach/pool season for a little getaway from Seattle!

Perfect work retreat
This Whidbey home was perfect for our work retreat. We cooked for a large group and found the kitchen had everything we needed. The views were beautiful, and all the beds were comfy. Not much more you could ask for.

The perfect retreat.
Simply put, the Whidbey Island beachfront compound is perfect. Every detail in the house is top notch - kitchen, electronics, showers, hot tub, seating (plentiful), beach access, views. The extra cabins are great additions and provide some privacy. Access to great hikes. We will 100% be coming back.

SMPS National Board of Directors Retreat - WE LOVED IT!!
Nancy, our board members and spouses - 10 of us in total - loved staying at your beach front retreat. With a main house and two cabins, there was plenty of room and privacy for everyone. We all gathered in the main house for our meals (great chef's kitchen, but bring extra ice). On Saturday afternoon we sat by the campfire and ate fresh Dungeness Crab under the shelter on the beach while enjoying the sunshine and uncommonly warm February weather. Our only complaint: we had to leave on Sunday to go back to our own homes. As the only one from Seattle, my guests from Columbus, Tulsa, Omaha and Houston were so envious because I can come back! I want to thank you again for sharing your piece of paradise with those of us who can only dream of living on the beach.

Striking inside and out
I will share the note I sent to Nancy after our stay - I wanted to thank you for creating and sustaining and sharing the beautiful home on Whidbey. The place itself became part of our celebration, both the built environment and the stunning glory of the tree tops, the shimmering water, the expanse of view, the eagles, seal lions, seals, whales, flocks of small birds. It held us so well. My brother and sister were there with me, and we all said - we would love to return here, with our extended family. A special gift - we saw whales 3 times! Even though I grew up in Seattle, I”ve never seen whales in the wild. So it was even more glorious for me.

Outstanding!
Nancy, I couldn't wait to post what a wonderful time our group had thanks to your beautiful home. Our group of girlfriends has been doing this for 18 years and we all agreed this was the best place ever. The location was ideal, the set up was perfect for a large group. The pictures you post are exactly like the property but still can't reflect just how gorgeous everything is! I would highly recommend this place and again, thanks for everything.

Wonderful family reunion getaway
Our family of 12 (ages 2-75) celebrated 4th of July at this gorgeous property on Whidbey. This was our second time back to this property. We loved it even more the second time around. Watching the orange sunsets over the Puget Sound through the tall evergreen trees -- from the "floating" deck -- was one of my favorite things to do. My kids loved swimming - regardless of the weather. Our family enjoyed volleyball for the first time together - passing many hours down by the beach - while the littlest ones played with their trucks in the sand. The fire pit and covered picnic table are great assets. The main house is decorated to top standards. The other houses feel very much like beach houses. We had enough space for everyone to have a bed and good night's rest. Whidbey has wonderful local fresh food to discover as well - and the kitchen is fully equipped for big family meals together.

This is such an amazing home!
I couldn't have asked for a more perfect getaway spot for our family reunion. Plenty of gorgeous beach property, the house is perfectly modern and comfortable with all the amenities needed for a group event. The owners were very available and easy to work with.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I looked for Whidbey Island real estate for 2 years before purchasing this property on Whidbey's westside. It is truly the best beach location on Whidbey, and we bought it for the incredible views, sandy beach and SW facing aspect. Over the past 10 years, we have done extensive remodeling to bring the structures to luxury standards and enjoy sharing our 'Kennedy compound' (as friends have termed it!) with newer guests as well as families who return year after year. We donated most of our profits to environmental and women's health charities, with well over $60,000 donated over the past 5 years. We have used VRBO to introduce the property to new guests for over 8 years now.
