Private Mountain Guest Suite with Hot Tub + Fire Pit - 14 miles to Asheville
We invite you to get away from the hustle and bustle and unwind in our “Little Piece of Heaven,” surrounded by acres of woods, fields, lawns, gardens, a pond, and beautiful mountain views.
Enjoy a private driveway and parking area leading to the lower level of our home, where you’ll have a private 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment. The space includes two queen bedrooms (each with keyed entry and TV), plus a cozy den with a desk and futon (full, suitable for one).
The kitchenette is thoughtfully stocked with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, electric fry pan, toaster, coffee maker (with coffee, tea, and creamer), as well as a starter breakfast with oatmeal packets and snacks. Dishes, mugs, cutlery, and glassware (including wine glasses) are all provided. An additional mini fridge in the Blue Room closet offers extra storage if needed.
A laundry/utility room is available for washing dishes or doing laundry during your stay.
Step outside to the patio—perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. You can relax in the hot tub while taking in the peaceful surroundings, or unwind in the hammock or cushioned seating area. The space also features a Weber grill, fire pit, outdoor lighting, and dining area. Deer often visit the side yard at dusk, adding to the charm of the setting.
We share our property with our friendly Australian Shepherd, Callie. She takes her “herding duties” seriously at times, but a firm “no” will send her on her way. Please let us know if she becomes bothersome. You may also be greeted by one or more of our free-range chickens during the day—they enjoy the occasional visit!
Pet Policy: We allow one dog (25 lbs or under). Pets must be crated when not supervised and are not permitted on beds or furniture.
20 minutes to downtown Asheville 14 miles to Hatley Pointe Ski Resort 10 minutes to Weaverville (galleries, shops, bakery, and restaurants)
Our area also offers abundant outdoor activities, including hiking trails with waterfalls, scenic views, rafting, and zip-lining.
We’ve been hosting for over 8 years on another platform, maintaining a consistent 5-star rating and Superhost status since our early days.
To help us maintain the quality of the home and hot tub for all guests, Vrbo will place a fully refundable $250 damage deposit hold prior to your stay. It is promptly returned after checkout as long as everything is in good condition and no excessive cleaning of hot tub is needed.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Kristen it was a pleasure hosting you, thank you for treating our home with respect as well as observing Quiet Hours and hot tub guidelines. You are welcome back any time.
Overall, it was a wonderful trip, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. The host was amazing. They were very friendly and welcoming. I would very much recommend staying here
Just the relaxing weekend that we were seeking! The unit, outdoor space and views were incredible. Everything was clean. Hilary and Dan were super friendly and respectful of our space. This was my first stay where the owners lived on-site. Due to modesty, my traveling companion did not feel comfortable using the hot tub since the owners were near. This is not a bad reflection on the stay though.

Hilary and Dan were incredibly gracious hosts and really made my stay top-notch. They both went out of their way to provide one-of-a-kind hospitality, from Hilary's initial introduction and home-baked banana bread to Dan waking up early and clearing the snow off of our cars! This stay is on an absolutely breathtaking property with two of the best hosts I have ever had. I could not recommend this highly enough!

Jennis we so appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for being 'top notch' guests. We'd welcome you back any time! 😊
Very friendly and informative host. Dan even took our two grandkids for a tour of the property on his 4 wheeler. Very comfortable bedrooms and living room. A TV in each space. The patio was the best part with a wonderful view. The kitchenette was limited but we only warmed up food and coffee so it was ok. It felt like we were in a mountain retreat.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Dan had a great time showing your grandkids around the property—it’s always a joy to share the space with guests who appreciate the land as much as we do.
I’m glad the bedrooms, living areas, and patio view helped make your visit comfortable and relaxing. The kitchenette is intentionally simple, but I’m happy to hear it worked well for your needs.
It means a lot that the property felt like a mountain retreat to you—that’s exactly the experience we hope to provide. We’d love to welcome you back anytime!
Hillary and Dan were so welcoming. Their home and gardens are a delight! The bedrooms and patio are thoughtfully and beautifully equipped. Ever so many amenities were provided. A truly wonderful stay…. We hope to return!

Robert we’re so thankful that you were pleased with your stay with us. It is our aim to create a space for guests to relax and feel at home and enjoy some extra touches you may not have otherwise! Hope you can visit us again!
My husband Dan and I are retired. We have lived in our home for 34 years. He is originally from Upstate NY and I am originally from NE PA with a detour to Cape Town, SA before settling in Western North Carolina. We love where we live and once our girls went out on their own and we retired we wanted to continue to share our beautiful home and surrounding area with others. We love to meet new folks, make sure they are comfortable and that they enjoy their 'home away from home'. Each guest is treated like family but given all the space and privacy they desire. We have an Australian Shepherd, Callie and free range chickens. They may even come up to the patio and say hi! Dan loves to play golf so we have a chipping course on the side yard if you'd like to practice. In the summer we have a great garden and share our produce with our guests. Help yourself if you see something ready for picking. Also, let us know if you would like some free range fresh eggs.
Why they chose this property
This property is tucked away in a 6 home community, quiet, peaceful with very little traffic or activity. The patio offers an outdoor space to read, relax and enjoy the mountain views, a soak in the hot tub or watch for deer, fox, turkey that meander by in the early morning or evening. It’s a place to reset from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
What makes this property unique
Beautiful surroundings yet not far from Asheville or Weaverville. Sometimes it’s so quiet that you strain to hear 'something'. Well maintained paved roads all the way from the highway into the driveway of the property. Each season carries with it its own beauty.
