About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Over 1000 square feet of relaxing, well-equipped perfection nestled at the base of the steps leading up to Pike Place Market, across the street from the Seattle waterfront, the Aquarium, and Pier 62. Finished in a décor reminiscent of Seattle’s early days, with red-bricked wall, dark wood floors, and subway-tiled bathroom. Be greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine.

Start the day sipping a fresh cup of French pressed coffee on the terrace while gazing upon Seattle’s waterfront as it comes alive. Take the stairs (or the elevator) up to Pike Place Market, the nation’s oldest continuously operated public farmers’ market, to take in the fascinating commotion of open-air commerce. Sample fresh-baked bread, pastries or piroshky; sample locally produced cheeses; or peruse an unmatched selection of fresh seafood.

This property is family owned and run by my husband and I. Our mission is to redefine your vacation rental experience. Your satisfaction, as our guest, is our goal. Why pay more to stay at an ordinary hotel when you can relax in a central location while enjoying modern comforts and amenities in a slightly nostalgic Old Seattle setting. The local waterfront national chain hotel's rates start at $255/night and parking is also additional.

Outdoor Features: Comfortable Private Terrace, with Dining table & Chairs, viewing the Water, Seattle Aquarium, The Ferris Wheel and Pier 62!

As of 2016, we now have a Portable AC Vent located in the Living Room for our Portable Air Conditioner. One of the positive points to having the building exterior re-done! (Almost NO Buildings, Less than 5% in Seattle have Central Air Conditioning) So, we are one of the Lucky Ones!

Also be aware that this is an urban environment. In any Urban Core, you can expect to hear street noise, often late into the evening. If a silent outdoor environment is important to you, downtown Seattle (or any big city for that matter) may not be the best place for you to stay. Any questions about this, ask! We want our guests to be happy.

About Property Owner

We have had a personal love for the city of Seattle for over 20 years. We enjoy this waterfront condo not only because of the location and views, but also because of the serenity. This is our in-city retreat to hang out with our Family and Friends, see a Mariners game, watch the Seahawks play, Enjoy great Shopping, Eat wonderful food, Stroll around Pike Street Market or just kick back and Relax!

Property Owner purchased this condo in 2014

Why Property Owner chose Seattle

We chose this location to be closer to the water as well as to provide an in-city retreat for our family and friends... This is Our Home Away From Home!

What makes this condo unique

We love to get up in the morning and walk the 80 steps to Pike Place Market and watch the market open for the day! We have been going there for decades and Never get tired of it. I am definitely a frequent customer to the Seattle Antique Market only 1 block away as well. Some of the touches I have added to this condo are from this same market. This location has also been a great starting point for our Seattle Seahawk games as well as our University of Washington games. The Seahawk stadium is 8 blocks away and the shuttle to the University of Washington takes about 20 minutes.

We also love to walk to the Ferry docks (6 blocks) and catch the ferry to Bainbridge Island to spend the day. Where else could you hop a ferry to an island, have a gourmet Northwest dinner and be back in Seattle the same evening? My favorite end to the day is to have a couple pints at Kell's Irish Pub up at the Pike Market's Post alley location. Where else can you imbibe with both locals and Seattle visitors, listen to live Irish music, eat a bowl of Irish stew and sing some lyrics? Nothing better to end the day with!

This place is absolutely perfect. From booking to leaving, I could not imagine a better experience. The apartment is located directly in between Pike Place Market and the waterfront, has a very charming feel to it, and the kitchen is the most well-stocked (extensively stocked) kitchen of any place I have stayed. Master bed was comfortable and the closet is walk in--plenty of room for clothes and our 2 big suitcases. Our son used the fold-out bed and it was very comfortable; and did not take up so much space as to make the living area unusable. Jeri will give you her phone number, and will email you a fantastic list of suggestions for restaurants (if you don't feel like cooking), places to check out in the Market, things to do, and places to go. After speaking with her for 30 minutes, I was more excited about our stopover in Seattle than I was for the cruise we were ultimately headed for. When we arrived, she buzzed us in, and then "walked" us through the apartment by phone. She does have someone local to help if necessary, but we did not need anything. We did not rent a car, so can't comment on the parking situation. Unfortunately, 4 days was not long enough to make a proper dent in her list of suggestions, so we will have to come back. I can't think of any reason we would stay anywhere else on a future trip.

An Absolute Gem

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully appointed condo in a perfect location to which we were welcomed by a hostess (Jeri) who could give lessons in customer service. From the moment of arrival, Jeri walked us through everything designed to provide generously for our comfort and security. Seattle has some great restaurants and we enjoy good food, but bringing 'home' ingredients from Pike's Market to prepare in this extremely well-equipped kitchen was nearly always our first choice. From beginning to the end of our stay, this is for us a Home Away From Home. Future holidays in Seattle may well depend on when this condo is available to us.

Amazing Fall Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This condo is absolutely amazing! My husband & I couldn't have asked for a better location for our fall get away to Seattle. The condo is perfectly located in the heart of everything you would want to do. Pike Place was straight up the stairs, the waterfront is across the street with easy access to the waterfront trails, which we ran and gives amazing views. You are able to walk EVERYWHERE from here. We walked from the Space Needle back to the condo as well as to Centurylink Field for the Seahawks game. We even walked to the ferry and spent an afternoon on Bainbridge Island, thanks to the suggestions of Jeri and different information she provided within the condo. Being right off of Alaskan Way, it is easy get to and from the airport as well as drive up to the different neighborhoods, such as Ballard, Freemont and the University District.

The best part of all, after a day of sightseeing and activities, you truly feel like you are coming home. It is so warm and inviting. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pans, etc. We purchased food from Pike Place Market and enjoyed homemade appetizers with wine and relaxed. The building was extremely quiet and having a parking space was convenient.

I can't even put into words how amazing this place is. We will be back and would recommend this condo to everyone we know!

It was a wonderful experience & close to everything. We have a very small dog & it was easy for us to take him outside for his walks. thanks for allowing us to bring him along.

I am sure that we will come back again, it was just what anyone would want in a rental close to everything. Thanks Jeri for making so comfortable. Ron & Kathy - Juneau, AK

Amazing location and gorgeous condo

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 had a fantastic stay in this beautiful condo. The location can't be beat - both the waterfront (i.e the Aquarium, Miner's Landing, Ferris wheel, etc.) and Pike Place Market are minutes away by foot. Earlier reviews mentioned the noise from the Alaska Way viaduct - and yes, you can hear the traffic but bear in mind you are right in the middle of a big city. If proximity to the action is more important to you than peaceful seclusion, this is the place to stay. (And I only really noticed the traffic if the patio door was open).

The furnishings, the appliances, the kitchen equipment and especially the master bed are all top notch. The decor is tasteful and the natural brick makes you feel like you are in a cool, vintage Seattle building (even though the condo is new with all the mod cons). And everything is immaculate.

You can pick up fantastic, fresh food at the market and cook a gourmet meal - accompanied by the bottle of wine the owner generously provides. Or you can try one of the amazing restaurants recommended by the owner - every suggestion we tried was superb. There are so many places to eat nearby that it really helped to get some guidance.

The parking spot is quite tight so don't even think of getting your Honda Odyssey in there (we parked a smaller SUV but it took some careful manoeuvring.) . Check with the owner in advance and let her know what you're driving to confirm if you'll fit. The owner is extremely helpful and accommodating about everything.

We'll definitely return next time we visit Seattle!

Relaxing, Cozy and Comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

This review is slightly overdue. My husband and I have been travelling a good amount, of late, so my actual travel dates may be slightly off. In any regard, this was such a wonderful stay. We were looking for a needed getaway and this condo really completed our trip to Seattle. Convenient location-- very short walk to Pikes Market and across the street from the Aquarium. The condo was stylish, very comfortable, cozy, and CLEAN (I especially loved that; I can be a little obsessive in that area, and it was nice not to have to worry about it!) The owners provide all the amenities needed for a very comfortable stay -- towels, linens, comfy bed, well stocked kitchen (we made breakfast at home and it was so convenient to have access to spices, pots/pans, dishes, coffee maker, etc....) It really was like being at home, away from home! We had a rental car and the garaged parking was appreciated, although a pretty tight space. The only drawback was some construction noise and the sound of the automatic garage door as the unit is located just above it (but all of the positives mentioned above outweighed this). The owners seem to pay attention to detail, and it definitely shows. Everything we needed was here!

Car: not necessary

Pike Place Market is a flight of stairs away. And for those of us that need the occasional elevator ride... There are two. One at the Parking Garage next door to our building and the other is just on the North end of our building. Seattle Aquarium is across the street.
