We had such a good stay in the mountains of North Carolina at the beginning of fall. The host, Mr. Bob, was super communicative and helpful throughout the stay. It was a bit smaller than expected but perfect for our size group (3 adults). We had fun with the games provided and the recommended activities found in the guidebook. The washing machine and dishwasher had some issues but did not impact our stay whatsoever. The creek on the property is incredibly beautiful and the location, with the river across the street, was convenient. The only things worth noting was that the bathroom was a bit tiny and that there was not an inside kitchen table. However, there is a huge bar with chairs in the kitchen for eating inside the house. Overall, it was very homey—like you were staying at your aunt/uncles cabin.

Positives: Quiet and close to the river.Negatives: No table inside. Can't sit straight on toilet. It's too close to the tub. No electrical outlet in the bathroom. Too many cobwebs. Floor has at least 3 transitions. You must be very careful walking around inside.

If you like isolated and quiet yet only minutes from West Jefferson this fits the bill. Small rustic cabin, tight spaces inside but very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Really enjoyed the fire pit by the creek. Bob, the owner, is local and was very friendly and responsive.

Really enjoyed the Cabin, it was just what we were looking for, a chance to get away from everything. The cabin was nice, rustic, but had all the modern needs, ie Internet, TV if wanted, full stove and cookware. We were looking for solitude and silence, plenty of both. Read some and cooked some meals. Took some walks along the creek and sat on the porch and watched nature. Not hearing the traffic was a grand part of the stay, not since our childhoods have we enjoyed such silence. Maybe too silent!The cabin is close enough to West Jefferson, Boone and Blowing Rock NC to enjoy short trips and do some shopping dining, or have a drink at one of the local breweries, Coffee breweries included. The drive is steep and terrain a little touch, so be prepared, heavy rains can cause driving issues without 4WD. The Decor of the cabin was over the top with Bigfoot and all the little Knick-Knack things in and around the cabin were a treat. It is not a 5 star hotel, it is a "cabin in the wood." It is rustic and quaint. If bugs bother you, mostly outside, this is not your place. The beautiful Cardinal that would land on the railing on the porch was treat to watch. Deer were abundant on the property. Saw no bear, or bigfoot, but know they are around.It is a great place to get back to nature, with a state park across the road from the property and many other mountainous sites in the area. All said, the place is showing its age, but was just what we were looking for!

Great Getaway

Cute and clean cabin - only a few minutes from downtown West Jefferson. Quiet, secluded, peaceful! Really enjoyed the deck and yard and all of the outdoor furniture, gas firepit table, and outside games.

Awesome Location

Location, location, location! A small stream on the property and within a pleasant walk to the New River for swimming, sunning or tubing. Perfect water conditions for kids of all ages.

Perfect quiet secluded area

We loved our stay in West Jefferson! There were plenty of outdoor activities to do. Our kids loved exploring the creek and roasting marshmallows in the firepit. We had beautiful weather and ate many meals on the deck.
