We loved staying at this quintessential Edgartown home. The host was very helpful and responsive, and the location was awesome - just steps from town shopping and the Chappy ferry and the beach. The deck and yard area were lovely!
We had such a nice time exploring the island with this property as our home base. Easy walk in to Edgartown made food and shopping easy. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and easy to text when we had questions. Would highly recommend and stay here again!
We had a great time. House was very comfortable, roomy and clean, enjoyed sitting out on the deck too. Walking distance to Edgartown Lighthouse and town.
Wonderful few days.
We really loved the location! It was so close to everything we wanted to be near. The only downside was it was a very hot weekend and even though there were window AC units and plenty of fans it was still a little toasty. Otherwise it was the perfect amount of space for 8 people and we didn’t feel on top of each other at all!
The property was in a great location. Extremely close to Edgartown, about a 5 mintue walk to all the shops and restaurants. My only suggestion is that the homeowner add a few dehumidifiers to the first floor.
Our stay was fabulous! The house was very spacious and allowed everyone to find a little nook to do work or catch a nap or read! (Needed that on our one rainy day!)
Perfect location with great restaurants and shops within walking distance !
Eloise was a wonderful hostess and responded immediately to a concern !

Great location house needs care
The upside … location was terrific, the management let us change booking date easily, the bed in the downstairs bedroom was very comfortable. The downside is that the property needs care. It was musty, shutters laying on the front porch with loose screws and nails, a gutter laying on the back porch, springs coming out of the dining room chairs, and so on.
Great location! We were unfortunately surprised to arrive and find out that there is no central air conditioning. I have still yet to find where that is disclosed on the listing - so be ware! There are window units in each bedroom so we could sleep comfortably, but the rest of the house gets extremely hot. They could use some more window units in other rooms. The cottage is cute and well equipped. Very old, which is part of the Vineyard charm that we all love! With that being said, the old plumbing proved to be problematic and inconvenient during our stay. When brought to the hosts attention, they were quick to respond and helpful. The upstairs is quite small - very low ceilings. This did not work well for our adult aged children but would be great for a family with younger kids. The location is wonderful and the hosts are very responsive and helpful.
Had a great three night stay. Historic home guessing built around mid 1800’s but in good shape and very spacious. Excellent proximity to Main St. Edgartown for restaurants and shopping.
Eloise was quick to respond to questions and easy to work with throughout the process. The home is in a wonderful in town location that’s walking distance to Lighthouse Beach/Fulker Street Beach, and all the wonderful shops and restaurants.
Rented this house for my wedding weekend with family. Beautiful backyard, outdoor shower, lots of room to gather and the location is perfect. Thanks Eloise for being a great host!
The home is charming and very clean. It is well equipped in the kitchen and deck with a new grill. Great place for relaxation and as a home base for family and friends. Its location is exceptional in Edgartown and gives an easy walk to town, beach, and shops. The homeowner is lovely and was always accessible to answer questions. We would love to stay at this property again.
This was such a nice little house in the heart of Edgartown just walking distance to the lighthouse or to the Main Street with shopping and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again!
Like most MV houses, it is old and charming! Great location. Beautiful street. The upstairs ceilings are low! My boys are over 6ft and could not stand in the upstairs bathroom because of the low ceilings so we all used the downstairs bath. Nice size house and we would go back!

Great location old house
Listed as 4 bedroom 2bath home.
That is technically correct but upstairs bathroom shower basically in useable if you are taller than 4 fr. Ceiling very slanted and very small space. Pictures in listening deceptively show normal tub/shower and it is not by any means. Pictures should be removed or corrected or description should detail this issue.

About the host
Hosted by Eloise Mahoney
Much loved family home where summers and vacations have been spent for over 40 years. My sister and I love our home most of all for its comfortable homey feeling and because it is so close to everything! Having a car is nice for exploring the island and the other towns and for grocery shopping (which we often do on bikes) but is not absolutely necessary. We also love that we feel safe letting our middle school aged children explore the town on their own.
Why they chose this property
Wonderful in-town location. We can walk or bike to everything! The harbor is 1 block away, excellent for boating. Chappaquiddick ferry is 2 blocks away as well. Beach and Edgartown Lighthouse are a 5 min walk.
What makes this property unique
Our outdoor shower is a wonderful experience with excellent water pressure! We never shower anywhere else even on the chilly days.
