House, Dock with Pierhead, 3 Bedrooms,, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)
A beautiful 2,500 sq. ft. custom built home located toward the end of a point on close to a half-acre of land. The house is nestled among the live oaks, cedars, and pines, and elevated, showcasing westerly views across the marsh and providing spectacular sunsets. The property features a 350 ft. dock across leading to deepwater (3 ft. min. at low tide). The dock has a pier head, providing plenty of shade, and a boatlift. See the shrimp boats off in the distance. You can fish, crab, and shrimp off the dock or go clamming at the nearby Coffin Point beach a short walk away.
The inside of the house is very spacious with an open floorplan and features dark hardwoods throughout and 10 ft.+ ceilings with cooling ceiling fans in all bedrooms and common areas. The layout is perfect for a family or couple wanting a lot of room and privacy, or two families vacationing together that desire their own spaces. Sleeps 6-8 (for a family including kids), but anything over 6 adults might be pushing it.
The main floor includes a vast, open floorplan with the living room, dining room, and kitchen, as well as a half bath and the master suite. Expansive windows look out over the marsh and deepwater from every vantage point. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and the den has a flatscreen sony tv. A covered porch with breezy ceiling fans offers a shady spot to relax and sip morning coffee or watch the sun set. The master suite is huge, with plenty of room to lounge, relax, and take in the treetop views. The master bath features a double vanity and walk-in double shower to steam and relax after a day of outside play. The master closet is so large our young son likes to sleep on a queen airbed here and make forts.
The upstairs includes the other two bedrooms, a full bath, a common area, and laundry room. Each bedroom offers panoramic views of the outdoors. One bedroom features a queen-sized bed and flat screen tv, the other has two double beds. The common area is a great space for children to relax and includes a tv, dvd player, custom bookshelves, whiteboard, and futon. For those traveling with young ones and not a lot of car space, we have a pack and play, toddler potty, and air mattress to free up your car space.
There is plenty of covered parking under the house and uncovered parking on the driveway.
The property is a half-mile walk from a secluded beach on St. Helena Sound. Take the opportunity to dig up a clam dinner, surf, fish for redfish, or just swim in the calm warm waters. There is a horse farm nearby which offers horseback rides on the beach. Or your can just hang out on the porch or outdoor patio and watch the horses walk by. VERY relaxing. Grill up your catch on our BBQ or do a full-on oyster roast in our oyster pit. The flat terrain of the area is well-suited for joggers and bicycle enthusiasts.
Beaufort (with its shopping, dining, boating and cultural scene) is only a short drive (15 min.) away. Hunting Island State Park is just under a 10 minute drive from the property and offers plenty for wildlife/nature/beach lovers (while we provide a Hunting Island pass, the park is temporarily closed due to Hurricane Matthew repairs. We'll continue to monitor the updates (updated Jan 2017). There are many seafood restaurants for fans of fish, shrimp, and shellfish. Nearby farms offer fresh fruits and vegetables in season.

Why Owner chose Saint Helena Island
We fell in love with the area -- the marsh, the oaks, the beach, the ocean, etc.. We love the relaxed lifestyle as well as the opportunity to fill our stomach with all types of seafood. This is a great place for people who like the outdoors. If you like fishing, kayaking, biking, golfing, swimming, boating, clamming, crabbing, shrimping, walking, jogging, horseback riding, relaxing, outdoor eating, shopping (nearby) then you'll understand why we bought in this area. Plus, the home is absolutely gorgeous. You really don't have to leave the property to have a good and relaxing time.
What makes this House unique
You can go crabbing and fishing off the dock. Enjoy the bbq and oyster pit. The home is very spacious with great views. All of the furniture is brand-new. There is even an outdoor shower. Flat-screen TVs and wireless internet are there for you to enjoy in any down-time. We are about a ten-minute walk to a secluded beach. The are numerous farms nearby offering fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as many seafood restaurants offering the catch of the day (you can be sure that it will be fresh and you can always ask).

Peaceful and enchanting.
The area was absolutely beautiful. My family enjoyed catching blue crabs off the dock. My niece went on a horseback ride, on the beach, that she absolutely loved. We took a carriage ride in the historical part of Beaufort, that was very interesting, to learn the history. Our favorite was the Grilled Donut from Marsh Tackey Market Cafe. Thanks again.
Very nice and enjoyable home and area!
Very nice and quality home as described. Nice furnishings and good remote location - but not too far from town. The dock and tidal creek were a key feature. We’d like to stay again during a warmer month - unfortunately caught a very chilly March weather week! Other than the weather the place was great!
Thank you Frank and glad you enjoyed the home and the area! I hope we can serve up warmer weather next time and you can catch dozens of crabs :)
Appreciate you taking time for the review!
Impressive once in a lifetime memory
It definitely was a home away from home with views, sunsets and bringing our graduated Marine to this cozy home. Beach within walking distance was awesome and the pier with sunsets right up our alley.
Thanks for the review and glad you had a great time for such a special family occasion. Congrats and thanks!!
This is a special house. Inside, its tall ceilings and oversized windows provide an expansive and comfortable view of the beauty that surrounds the house. Outside there are multiple vantage points from which to enjoy the the birds’ first song in the morning and the breathtaking sunset over the marsh. We enjoyed sunset happy hours on the dock and long conversations on the front porch. We took full advantage of the large, modern kitchen and enjoyed the local produce and fresh seafood. This was the perfect spot for a getaway. We’ll be back!
Thanks for the review and more importantly, I'm glad you and your friends had such a good time! Coffee on the patio, sunset happy hours and long talks all sounds lovely. Thanks for the tip on the tomato pie!
Quiet, comfortable home in the low country
Our stay in this quiet neighborhood was all we expected and more. The home is adequately furnished with everything you will need for a relaxing vacation, plus the views of the marsh and moss-covered trees provide a nice setting. There are plenty of small restaurants nearby, or cook your own meal on the provided gas grill. The home even has a spacious courtyard with an open brick fire pit. The pit has a large grate perfect for an oyster or clam bake. Although the home and surroundings made for a very enjoyable vacation, the star of the show is the home's owner, Pam. From our first contact, Pam went out of her way to make our reservation easy and even gave us a call the afternoon of our arrival to make sure everything was OK. My wife and I could not have asked for more cordial hosts and we highly recommend this property.
Thank you sooo much! I'm sorry for the delayed VRBO gratitude and appreciate you taking the time out to write a review. We appreciate you staying with us and hope you can repeat soon!!
Our family came here for Christmas Holidays. We had a wonderful time fishing and walking on the beach. Thank you for sharing your home with us. The Bonnette’s
