About this property
Twin Lakes Alpine Retreat • 3 Homes • Fast Wifi
*Three lake retreats in a breathtaking location*
Lang Road offers a remote escape in the heart of Twin Lakes Historic Village, recently named "Colorado's Prettiest Town". Surrounded by the National Forest and nestled at the base of the Rockies' tallest mountains, our getaway provides walking distance to trails leading to rivers, beaches, lakes, historic sites and natural wonders. Enjoy the best views and access to wilderness right outside your door, for an unforgettable and tranquil experience.
We're here for you during your stay but our level of interaction is up to you. We are only a phone call or message away. You will be able to self check-in upon arrival. We are happy to assist via phone or through Airbnb before, during or after your stay.
Once a week, one of our team members will stop by the property to put out the trash cans, replenish our supplies, and/or restock sheets and towels. They will NOT enter the home. They have access to the garage or shed with a code. This day may or may not fall during your stay.
Twin Lakes was once a transportation hub between Leadville and Aspen in the mining days. In 1885 a guide to Colorado named it “..the most charming summer resort in Colorado.” It's a small idyllic town that transports you back to a simpler, more peaceful time.
If you step outside, you’ll see views of Mt. Elbert - the second highest peak in the contiguous United States. These gorgeous mountain views create an amazing backdrop for the ever-changing light, with uniquely stunning sunrises and sunsets. Passing storms and surprise rainbows are common.
You will fall in love with the clear morning lake views and incredible sunsets over the tallest peaks in Colorado. Our panoramic views offer stunning perspectives of the twin lakes, Mt. Hope and Mt. Elbert. Read your book and sip your morning coffee while taking in the breathtaking views.
The Twin Lakes Community would like to introduce you to our little village of Twin Lakes Colorado. Located 21 miles southwest of Leadville and 36 miles east of Aspen, our historic town sits in the shadow of Colorado’s highest peak, Mt. Elbert and overlooks the beautiful Twin Lakes. Situated along the “Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway” Independence Pass, one of the highest paved passes in the state, just up the road. In any direction you happen to glance, you will find ways to play and an abundance of natural beauty here in Twin Lakes Colorado. This area is amazing for running, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, rafting, fishing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. There is a $75 pet fee per dog, two dogs max. Sorry, no cats allowed.

We are accessible year-round. Our homes are located on a county road that gets plowed when there's snow but we still recommend AWD/4x4 with good tire tread in the snowy months (generally December to April). Winter driving conditions on the highways leading to the properties can change in very short amounts of time. We recommend checking the conditions before you start driving your way and plan accordingly. Colorado has some specific winter driving laws pertaining to tire requirements. The fine for violating the traction law is pretty expensive so we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the law before driving during the winter.
Speaking of snow, this is the Colorado Rockies so be prepared! We do our best to plow the area in front of the properties and shovel the walkway. However, the remote nature of this place can make these tasks delayed. We do provide a shovel in case you need to clear a path.
Please be advised there is no public transport to this location.
Our homes are easily accessible all year round. However, please note that during the snowy months (generally December to April), the county road leading to the properties is plowed, but we recommend having an AWD/4x4 vehicle with good tire tread to ensure safe travel. Always check the highway conditions before embarking on your journey, and plan accordingly. In addition, please familiarize yourself with Colorado's specific winter driving laws, including tire requirements, to avoid costly fines.
