High atop Reva Ridge, lofting over mountains, water, and sky stands the retreat at STARVUE LODGE. Far from city lights, this is a place where even Colorado natives marvel at one of the most dramatic views from a home in Colorado and in all of North America. The central location is close to Leadville, a short drive to Aspen (in the summer), Vail, Beaver Creek, Silverthorne, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Ski Cooper, Salida, and Buena Vista. After years of searching, we hand-picked the land as 'the' perfect place to build a log cabin in Colorado. With 360 degree views of the highest mountains in the Colorado Rockies, this home was originally built as our family summer retreat and is now welcoming guests and their dogs from around the world.
This home is managed by Black Wolf Lodging which gives you many advantages over other properties. First, 10% off rafting trips this spring and summer plus 10% off snowmobile tours in the winter. Next, you are checked in personally by a local, someone who lives in and knows Twin Lakes. We can answer your questions about what to see and do, what is open at that time of year and where the favorite hideaways are that only locals know. In the winter we have access to unknown snowshoe and snowmobile trails and in the summer we can tell you what the local trail conditions are and about the best photo opportunities. Mostly though, we are in the neighborhood 24/7 to assist you with any problems that may arise, not hours away and potentially unreachable. Finally we have access to specials like discounted lift tickets and raft trips that others don’t offer. Black Wolf Lodging, the only locally owned and operated vacation home rental business in Twin Lakes.
Great for couples, families, company retreats, or those wanting a motivating place to write a screenplay, novel or launch the next high-tech company. StarVue Lodge features a 'great' great room, 'mountain-overlooking' master suite, 'motivational' office and library loft, and wrap around porches facing south and west. A separate downstairs quarters features a large bedroom, bath, and family room complete with the most dramatic walk out basement in the world...seriously.
When our family vacations here, we typically plan days around hikes and canoeing in the lake and over to the ghost town for lunch, climbing the local mountains, dinners in Twin Lakes Village, day trips to Aspen, Vail, or Breckenridge, exploring Leadville, and rafting or hot spring trips within a 30 minute drive.
Here, the nights are truly special. The name StarVue comes from both the unimaginable view of the stars, as many as can be seen in the world without a telescope and clear and crisp as if they were a hundred miles away AND the view of Star Mountain nestled between two of the tallest mountains in America. In fact, the master bedroom was designed so that you can watch the stars as you go to sleep. Fireplace is not available in the summer due to fire danger. Owner strongly requests no smoking, electric cigarettes or vaping in the house or on the property!

Dream home in the shape of a log cabin
We could not have been more happy with our stay at this amazing home or excited to someday return. We brought our two kids and dog and felt like we stayed in a fairytale log cabin castle. The home could not have been more user-friendly, inviting and quiet. The views of the Milky Way at midnight were as spectacular as the 14’ers at sunrise.
The owners seem to have thought of every detail from the local library of books and folklore to the whirlpool bathtub and comfy beds. We’ll definitely return soon and often.
Wonderful views, beautifl home!
Lots of room for our group to spread out, bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed. We loved the area, there was so much to do we can't wait to come back. The lakes offer kayaking, canoeing and fishing to keep all happy. The trail system is there for all abilities, we all hiked to Interlaken on the easy trail and some of us did the highest mountain in Colorado - Mt Elbert. Best hike for those of us in good shape, hint - start EARLY in the morning before the clouds and lightening happen. All in all one of the best family vacations we have ever had.
Can't wait to go back!!
Amazing. Only got to spend a few nights here, but could literally spend weeks - months - heck forever!! Our family with 2 teens enjoy subtle, less crowded attractions and just relaxing downtime - this place was perfect.
My wife made a couple Colorado Springs attractions obligatory on this trip, but there are really so many natural things to explore nearby for days and days - be sure to check out St. Elmo, Continental Divide, La Plata Gulch Trailhead and dozens of trails only minutes away. Not to mention just sitting there and taking in the views.
I want to do a jeep tour and more mountain biking when I return. Maybe make it to the top of Mt Elbert this time. And just other natural and historic features in the area that we simply didn't have time for on this 3 day trip.
And this was perfect for my two rather apathetic teens - my daughter (17), upon walking through the cabin and seeing the back view, turned to me and said "you did good, dad". My son (14), while not doing much outdoorsy stuff this time, does mention wanting to go back, so I guess he enjoyed it too. ha. The wife (not outdoorsy) just enjoyed sitting inside and reading and relaxing.
Spectacular Spacious Retreat for Any Season!
This spacious and well-appointed three-level log home is the PERFECT place for getting away from it all and still having the pampered comforts of resort quality accommodations. We spent a week there between Christmas and New Year's, and enjoyed spectacular views of the Sawatch Range, close proximity to outdoor activities, and a comfortable retreat for our party of ten people. The adventurous of our group spent their days downhill and cross country skiing, while those that stayed closer to home enjoyed cozy fires, solitude, and the ever-changing views of Mt. Elbert and Twin Lakes. The kitchen has ample modern conveniences and supplies, the beds are comfortable, and there is plenty of room for large groups to simultaneously dine, bathe, and just hang out together without feeling cramped. We can't wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the wildflowers and the ample hiking opportunities close by. I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere that had such a complete package of comfort, natural beauty and accessibility to the outdoors. A MUST for any group who loves to be pampered and loves seclusion!
It doesn't get any better than this!
What a wonderful place to spend a long weekend....a week...or maybe a month or two! Waking up every morning to the spectacular view of Twin Lakes and 14ers—that alone was worth the price of admission. Our group found that the "cabin" (an extra deluxe cabin!) was the perfect location to access all the things we wanted to do. For this trip is was hiking and biking. We'll come back next summer for some fishing and canoeing. It's amazing that all those activities were literally outside our door. Nighttime views are spectacular too. If you're a star-gazer, this is definitely the place to be. And when you're not enjoying the great outdoors, the cabin is a fabulously cozy place for making a meal and relaxing in the huge living/dining room, yet there's plenty of space to spread out, play games or read and relax by the fireplace. We didn't make any trips into "town" but it was nice to know that anything we might have forgotten was available via a short drive. We're lucky enough to live just a few hours away on the Front Range, so this cabin is likely to become our "go to" place when we need to escape!
Amazing Spot, Incredible Cabin
Spent an amazing week at the cabin during the fall. Came from Maine for a week in the Colorado high mountains and had the most incredible trip. The location is second to none, with the most amazing views of Twin Lakes, Mt Elbert and numerous other 14ers in the area. I spent many mornings with my coffee taking in the views, the alpenglow, and even saw some antelope one morning cruising past. Great spot for all - those who want to climb and hike some of the highest mountains in continental US or those who want a relaxing day, maybe a short hike or canoe on Twin Lakes and picnic lunch (great for kids too), or even those who want to just sit on the deck and take in the breathtaking scenery. The cabin is elegantly hand-crafted with fine attention to every little detail, situated with some of the best views imaginable, you might not want to leave.
Off the beaten track, heading up to the local Gold mine, bike the Colorado Trail, train for a race, write a novel, or rock skipping (really, at the lake, its a highlight). Going to the quaint towns of Leadville, Buena Vista, or Salida. Two hot springs within 30 minutes, driving over pass on the most beautiful road in America to Aspen for breakfast or lunch or bike riding. Being AWAY from big cities and busy ski towns. Watching the Stars which show in the billions. Please be advised - Reva Ridge Rd does not allow dirt bikes or ATVs
