Why Lisa Sykes chose Pisgah Forest
We chose to purchase rental property in the Brevard area due to its proximity to the beautiful scenery, wildlife, outdoor activities (i.e., hiking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, and bike riding, etc.) available in the hundreds of acres of state and national forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition, Brevard is a charming Appalachian town that offers a thriving music and arts community, as well as fantastic shopping and dining.
What makes this Cabin unique
While a mere 5 minute drive to wonderful downtown Brevard area, visitors to this cabin will enjoy a private, secluded haven complete with astonishing views, a beautiful setting atop Mine Mountain, and the potential to see a large variety of the wildlife indigenous to this region (including the unusual white squirrels Brevard is known for).

Great Mountain Cabin!
We loved staying at this lovely mountain cabin in Pisgah Forest! As some of the other reviews mention, you have to drive up the mountain around winding roads to find the house, but it is well worth it. Beautiful home with comfy beds and everything you could need for a comfortable stay (nice linens, well-appointed kitchen, etc.). The porch is wonderful and has great views. Plus, we loved being able to bring our dog with us!
Beautiful location, beautiful cabin!
This lovely cabin was perfect for our college girls' reunion. There are two large ensuite bedrooms (one king, one queen) with well-appointed bathrooms and lots of towels and washcloths. There is also a cozy bunkroom as you enter the cabin just off the kitchen with two very comfortable bunks. The bunkroom has been created from what appears to be the original mudroom where the laundry may have gone (laundry is now in the basement), and it works well for tucking away two extra sleeping sites. There are also two very nice leather sofas in front of the fireplace in the large main room where one of our group camped comfortably with blankets and a pillow each night. The main room is open-concept with the kitchen at one end with an enormous island where we spent most of our socializing time, a vaulted ceiling and a gorgeous stacked stone fireplace at the other end. There is also a full-size dining table to the side in the kitchen. The cabin is situated quite high on the mountain it occupies, so the views are stunning. There is a wraparound deck off the main room with great deck furniture, ceiling fans, charcoal and gas grills and a big supply of wood for the fireplace inside. Plenty of parking for four-plus vehicles, and the entire site is very nicely landscaped. The cabin was clean, well-stocked (all linens, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, all cooking and dining utensils, all the usual appliances and small appliances and a nice basement with laundry facilities. The cabin is 10 minutes from the pretty little college town of Brevard and about 45 minutes to the Biltmore Estate and Asheville. We were happy to discover the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. about halfway between Brevard and Asheville -- great beer and duck-fat French fries! There a lot of good breweries in the area, actually. Super-accessible hiking, too. Within just a couple of hours' hiking, we saw several gorgeous falls. We could not have been more pleased with our cabin. Highly recommend.
Very nice we will definitelycome back to this awesome cabin
Great Cabin loved the views and accommodations can't wait to come back
Great place to getaway and relax
Very welcoming, perfectly suited for a family, private, serene and relaxing. This is an excellent cabin for anyone looking to unwind and recharge for “city life”!
Absolutely Beautiful Home!
This house has all the details that make it feel like you are staying at a friend's and not at a rental. The kitchen was fully stocked, the beds were super comfortable, the house was impeccably clean and the views were spectacular. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
