Why Lisa Sykes chose Smoky Mountains

We chose to purchase rental property in the Brevard area due to its proximity to the beautiful scenery, wildlife, outdoor activities (i.e., hiking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, and bike riding, etc.) available in the hundreds of acres of state and national forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition, Brevard is a charming Appalachian town that offers a thriving music and arts community, as well as fantastic shopping and dining.

What makes this cabin unique

While a mere 5 minute drive to wonderful downtown Brevard area, visitors to this cabin will enjoy a private, secluded haven complete with astonishing views, a beautiful setting atop Mine Mountain, and the potential to see a large variety of the wildlife indigenous to this region (including the unusual white squirrels Brevard is known for).

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had the most relaxing time away at this cabin. It had everything you would possible need. The view was amazing and we sat on the deck and watched the sunset. The convenience of the stores, restaurants and parks was so nice. You just drive to the end of the mountain and everything is right at your fingertips.we were only there for the weekend. It have already started planning a longer stay in the near future at this awesome cabin!

Love this place!

  • 5 of 5

Secluded, clean, nicely updated, great owners and close to everything you want in Brevard/Pisgah Forest. This is our second time in this home and have stayed in 2 other homes owned by the same people. Always a pleasure to rent from them and have enjoyed ourselves every time. If you want to bike, go into town or hike, you can be there within 15-20 minutes. If you want to just enjoy the outdoors and read or have drinks on the porch it is right there. I can't say enough good things about the experiences I have had. Just rent the house. You will not want to leave.

Fabulous Time!

  • 4 of 5

We rented the cabin for two weeks in November and had the best time. The cabin is such a great size for two or eight. The Kitchen is such a great size and it's fun to cook overlooking the mountains. We loved sitting on the huge deck! Also we had a fire almost every day which was so special. The Pisqah National Forest and DuPont State Park are so close and there are lots of great hiking opportunities. We really enjoyed the town of Brevard with its cute shops and bakery. So much fun to sit outside at Oscar Blues Brewery too! We had so much fun we are going again two times next year. Thanks to Lisa, the owner, and Brad, the property manager.

Wow! Terrific Place.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is truly nice. Can be hard to find the first time, but worth it. Very close to Pisgah and Dupont and Brevard, but high up on a secluded mountain top. Back deck is expansive and very welcoming with a great view and the grill works great! We stayed four nights and mountain biked in Dupont and Pisgah and hiked and rode the Blue Ridge Parkway. All very accessible from here as is downtown Brevard. Cabin has two very nice bedrooms with full baths and then two bunk beds in the laundry area. Clean and modern and reasonably priced. I would say it sleeps more like 6 comfortably.

family yearly vac

  • 2 of 5

The cabin is pretty. Nothing that stands out. The Internet didn't work, only one tv, half the light switches didn't work, didn't know which switches went to what. Ice maker in ref. Didn't work. (That's why she says bring your own ice). Not enough lighting in the place. ( there were ceiling lights that were very dim and one lamp in living room that was very very dim., if ya wanted to read a book you couldn't. ) The basement where it was better off doing laundry, looked terrible. Lots off junk, not appropriate for a vac to see. Over all for just a sleep or a beautiful view off the back deck it was very nice for the price. We have stayed in others at the same or close to pricing as this and we're swept off our feet. But, won't be going back. I felt the owner didn't have much interest in her own place or the renters needs. It says they provide all paper products.. good thing we took extra toilet paper, we were left one extra roll. And one extra roll paper towels. (We stayed for a week). We have been doing rentals for 14 yrs now. The only way it sleeps 8 is 2 will sleep on bunk beds in the laundry room upstairs right when u enter the house. (There was a small room when you enter the house believe it's called a entry way) and I mean right when u enter. The front door could almost hit the bunk bed if swing open wide enough.

Great Mountain Biking Basecamp

  • 5 of 5

Stayed 3 nights recently while on a mountain biking trip with friends. Cabin was everything we could have asked for and more. Clean and modern, amazing view from the back deck, and the secluded location made it feel like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. Really like the bike wash stations even though we didn't encounter any mud during our entire trip so we didn't get to use them. We will absolutely book this cabin again!
