This is the largest beachfront suite we have. It’s perfect for a family beach vacation.. With 2 bedrooms and a sleeping porch with trundle beds turns this into a 3rd bedroom. This suite can accommodate up to 8. Walk out on the private deck and you are right on the beach with the Bar-BQ and gazebo with comfy chairs. Cook in the large fully stocked kitchen , blender for daiquiris and margaritas, and extra large refrigerator and pantry for extended stays. Large master bedroom with king size bed overlooking the Gulf, rattan furniture for that Florida look, big flat screen TV and large oak pedestal dining table seats 6 with extra kids eating on the porch. The sleeping porch overlooking the beach doubles as breakfast area for those who get up early to go beach combing for shells. Guests compliment us on the warm glow of red heart pine floors that others only hope to imitate. The brick fireplace in the living room adds a touch of nostalgia.

We had a wonderful week! The house wasnt perfect but we loved it. They have so many supplies for the week which helped because we flew into Tampa so we couldn't bring alot. We had everything needed for a fun beach day and everything in the kitchen for a great meal. Having that beautiful beach right in your back yard is so amazing all week long. The only thing i wished this property had is a Pool but still didnt lose a star for it. I would highly recommended this property of youre looking for an old florida beach vacation! We plan on renting again next year for sure!
The community area out back was the perfect place to take in the sunsets.

A wonderful getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing stay. Check-in process was super easy, allowing us to enjoy our vacation as soon as we arrived. Wes the owner is an amazing host. We had a little issue in the beginning of our stay but he not only resolved the issue but went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in unit 6 which was beautiful and allowed us to walk out right on the beach from the back porch. The unit and property had various amenities that me and my husband really enjoyed including kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas, a washer and dryer, and various other beach gear. The host truly does a wonderful job at making your stay feel like a home away from home but better. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back for future family vacations!

We have been spending spring break in Florida for many years. This was by far the worst place we have ever stayed especially for the amount of money we spent. The house was in such disrepair that they should not be renting it out. I would even say it is unsafe. The wiring cannot be up to code. Some of the outlets did not work at all so they used power strips to plug several things in at once. The cabinet drawers and doors in the kitchen were falling apart. The microwave was not working. One of the burners on the stove would randomly quit working. The pocket door to one of the bathrooms was basically a slab of wood that had to be forcibly shimmied in and out of the “pocket”, which was nearly impossible, to close the door. The vanities in both bathrooms were old, cheap, rotting and broken. One of the showers ran constantly and only had a fabric shower curtain which was not waterproof so the floor would stay soaken wet and starting to get soft. Mold was also growing because of this. There were soft spots in the wood decks/porches too. The toilet in the MBR would intermittently quit working and we would have to open the tank lid fix it. Some of the windows had duct tape holding them together. Stains on the rugs and on the couch. Misc. junk thrown under the stairs in the kitchen that was visible to the guests. Location of the house was great however, the outside was also in disrepair. Some of the umbrellas were torn/tattered. The igniter on the grill did not work. Very disappointe.

in 1966 my grandparents bought the 1925 beach house and carriage house for $28,000 with a house payment of $120. Those were the days. They converted it into 6 seaside apartments. For 30 years they were the innkeepers living on the main floor in Unit #6.
. This came about in an unusual partnership. My father was a fighter pilot. My grandfather was a butcher. They went in together to buy the place. As an Air Force dependent I moved every 4 years mostly out west where my father trained other pilots . Late in his 30 year career he went to Viet Nam where he saved the lives of many marines. My mom and the three of us kids moved in with her parents. I was blessed to live with kind grandparents and to spend my impressional high school and college years living in such a beautiful spot on the island. When it came for them to sell and retire, I just couldn't let it get torn down and become 5 condos. Kathy and i bought it for $350,000 in 1998. We keep the tradition alive. Every summer we fly down from Denver with our two sons, and now four grandsons to enjoy this very special place. Here you can relax, find that inner child, and make good memories . Thank you for staying with us and helping to save the best of "Old Florida". Enjoy the beach.

Why they chose this property

To save the oldest beach house on this part of the barrier island.

What makes this property unique

Rent the whole place as your private beachfront estate. The 6 apartments can sleep 24. Family reunions, anniversaeries, special occasions. Where else can you surround yourself with water for a true island feeling. Emerald green Gulf of Mexico and award winning white sand beach are out your back door. Across the street is the intracoastal waterway. On any given day you can see multi-million dollar yachts parading by on their way between Clearwater Harbor and John's Pass where this head out to sea. Old timers called this skinny half mile of Boca Ciega Bay, "The Narrows". Of the thousands of homes on the barrier island only 35 enjoy this most coveted spot. My grandparents chose well.
