About the host
Hosted by Hannah
We are the owners of this historic Cascade mountain home and manage it with care and intention. We value clear communication, respectful guests, and preserving both the character of the home and the peace of the neighborhood.
Why they chose this property
This home offers an experience that cannot be replicated by modern vacation rentals.
Built in 1905, the house retains its original character—historic trim, a narrow early-century staircase, and architectural details that reflect how mountain homes were built over a century ago. These features have been intentionally preserved to honor the home’s history rather than modernize it into something it was never meant to be.
Many of the interior doors still display their original numbering, a detail left untouched as part of the home’s story. Interior doors do not lock, consistent with the original construction and design of the era.
The home’s stucco exterior allows it to retain heat efficiently, keeping it warm during cooler months. In summer, guests are encouraged to open windows and enjoy the naturally cool mountain air—part of the rhythm of living in a historic mountain home rather than relying on constant mechanical climate control.
This property is ideal for guests who appreciate authenticity, history, and character, and who understand that a 120-year-old mountain home will feel different from a newly built vacation rental. That difference is exactly what many of our guests value most.
