Welcome to Black Bear Cabin!

This cozy cabin sits less than 100 feet from the Nottely River, making it a trout fishing paradise. Being on the Richard Russell Scenic Hwy, it lies in a central and beautiful location from which to explore the N.GA/NC mtns. You are far enough from everything and at the same time close enough to get everywhere.

Nestled on the river bank, this cabin provides an ideal opportunity to sit back and enjoy the wonders of Mother Nature. Relax on the back porch while watching the river glide around its rocks. Close your eyes and listen to the soothing song of moving water and wildlife. You can also watch the river from the window seat in the living area of the cabin. Trout fishing does not get any better than this. You can fish standing or sitting on the river bank or cast your line from large rocks in the middle of the river. The serenity and beauty are captivating.

The cabin was built in 2000 and features a full wood, rustic interior. The cabin has been recently redecorated using a black bear theme The kitchen/ living areas are open; the bathroom is directly accessible to both the bedroom and the living area.

The cabin is an ideal location from which to visit nearby mountain towns and activities. Vogel State Park is 5 miles away; it is 11 miles to Brasstown Bald. Nearby Vogel State Park offers hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, water falls, and mountain cultural evens. Other available mountain activities include rafting, biking, antiquing, sightseeing, shopping, boating, mountain biking, horseback riding, restaurants, rock climbing, and wildlife viewing.

About The Owner

We are brother-sister owners of this river cabin. I am self-employed, and my sister is a retired teacher.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010

Why The Owner chose Blairsville

I am an avid trout fisherman and fell in love with this place. It is within driving distance of each of our homes and is very close to so many mountain attractions. Vogel State Park is 5 mins. away

What makes this cabin unique

We feel this cabin is unique - sitting on the river, outstanding fishing, and very accessible to anywhere in the North GA and NC mountains.

The cabin lies in a beautiful part of the N.GA mountains. It is very close to nearby breath-taking views and lookout areas.

I love to go to the cabin, fish a while, go to a nearby town to eat and shop a little, then go back and fish some more. I wish I could live there permanently.

Perfect cabin for two people

  • 5 of 5

Very nice cabin in a beautiful location. The cabin was very clean, and had everything that you could need. Owners were very helpful in answering any questions. We had planned on spending more time visiting Helen and Dahlonaga, but we loved the cabin so much we ended up spending most of our time there. Definitely will be choosing this cabin again in the future.

Great experience, Great location, Great cabin

  • 5 of 5

I loved this little one bedroom cabin, the owners were wonderful in every way. Woke up each morning to deer in the front. Fire near the river at night watching the clear skies above. Great sounds of rush water. Remote enough for peace but a short drive to many locations, views and towns. The cabin is comfortable and priced affordably for all but does not lack in quality at all. I will return one day and I know the owners will be just as kind as they were on day one. Thank you for everything.

Very nice and cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent time at the cabin! Its very cozy and well stocked. Very nice decor too. Had a good time visiting vogel state park nearby as well as Helen and Blairsville. The river was very relaxing and pretty. I managed to catch one trout but it was a nice 13in rainbow. We had a great time and would love to return someday!
