Close your eyes and listen to the soothing song of moving water and wildlife. You can also watch the river from the window seat in the living area of the cabin. Trout fishing does not get any better than this. You can fish standing or sitting on the river bank or cast your line from large rocks in the middle of the river. The serenity and beauty are captivating.

The cabin was built in 2000 and features a full wood, rustic interior. The cabin has been recently redecorated using a black bear theme The kitchen/ living areas are open; the bathroom is directly accessible to both the bedroom and the living area.

The cabin is an ideal location from which to visit nearby mountain towns and activities. Vogel State Park is 5 miles away; it is 11 miles to Brasstown Bald. About The Owner

We are brother-sister owners of this river cabin. I am self-employed, and my sister is a retired teacher.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010

Why The Owner chose Blairsville

I am an avid trout fisherman and fell in love with this place. It is within driving distance of each of our homes and is very close to so many mountain attractions. Vogel State Park is 5 mins. away

What makes this cabin unique

We feel this cabin is unique - sitting on the river, outstanding fishing, and very accessible to anywhere in the North GA and NC mountains.

The cabin lies in a beautiful part of the N.GA mountains. It is very close to nearby breath-taking views and lookout areas.

I love to go to the cabin, fish a while, go to a nearby town to eat and shop a little, then go back and fish some more. I wish I could live there permanently.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great experience, Great location, Great cabin

  • 5 of 5

I loved this little one bedroom cabin, the owners were wonderful in every way. Woke up each morning to deer in the front. Fire near the river at night watching the clear skies above. Great sounds of rush water. Remote enough for peace but a short drive to many locations, views and towns. The cabin is comfortable and priced affordably for all but does not lack in quality at all. I will return one day and I know the owners will be just as kind as they were on day one. Thank you for everything.

Very nice and cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent time at the cabin! Its very cozy and well stocked. Very nice decor too. Had a good time visiting vogel state park nearby as well as Helen and Blairsville. The river was very relaxing and pretty. I managed to catch one trout but it was a nice 13in rainbow. We had a great time and would love to return someday!

Good location & clean cabin

  • 3 of 5

This cabin is very cute and was clean we arrived for the weekend. Although it is small, it is the perfect size for two people. There is plenty of living space and the bathroom is very big considering it's only a small, one bedroom cabin. We loved the backyard and the fact and that the river was right there. We loved the location of the cabin and the fact that it was only a few miles from downtown Blairsville. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there are some things that we would definitely change. One of the most disappointing things was that there was no light on the back porch. We were hoping to sit on the back porch and read in the evenings, but since there was no light, we had to stay out there in the dark or move back inside as soon as the sun went down. Disappointing as we would have liked to enjoy the cool evenings on the porch with a book. Also, we would have loved to have had a small table on the back deck. There were a couple of chairs, but it would have been nice to be able to enjoy a meal out there. Lastly, we were disappointed with the bed and pillows. The bed has a plastic mattress under the sheet that made a lot of noise every time one of us moved or rolled over. This made it hard to get a good night's sleep as whenever one of us moved, the other one of us woke up. The bed only had two pillows, and they were VERY flat. My husband brought his own pillows, which we were grateful for, but the two pillows that were provided were not even enough for one person. It seems like new pillows would be a cheap investment to make everyone's stay at the cabin a little better, and I see that a few other people mentioned the pillows in their reviews as well.

Owner's Response: We regret that our guests did not find the extra bed linens. We have 4 pillows on the bed and have 4-5 more pillows of various sizes extra in case the sleeper sofa is needed. We also have a cotton mattress pad available at the cabin. We have flood lights on the back porch posts to provide lighting for the porch and yard. We have been unable to determine a stationary safe method of providing reading quality light outside on the porch at night. This is our first request to have this. We wish we had room to accommodate a table on the back porch. Since the cabin can accommodate 4 people, we feel we need 4 chairs. The available charcoal and firewood have to be kept dry on the porch. We do not want the porch to be cluttered and uncomfortable. We do have a picnic table in the yard. We try to accommodate the preferences and needs of our guests. In spite of a few individual dislikes, we are very proud of our many positive reviews. We feel very fortunate to have had so many awesome guests over the years!

Very nice, quiet vacation cabin....

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful cabin setting. Gorgeous river and grounds. Even though Hurricane Irma tried to ruin our days here we had a blast. I only have one complaint....the bed. The bed was not comfortable, very hard and was very rough on both of our backs. That being said, we do have arthritis. The pillows were horribly flat. I usually bring my own but didn't this time. However, $20 at the Dollar General solved that problem. The rubber sheet was irritating too. I know it's for hygienic purposes but most rentals just use a regular mattress pad. That being said we still enjoyed our time at the cabin. Also, if you like to cook take a good skillet. I always pack my trusty cast iron to fry eggs.

Owner's Response: We are always thrilled to learn that our guests enjoyed their stay. We strive to have accommodations that will meet the needs of the majority of people. Individuals have their own particular needs and comfort preferences (mattresses, pillows, etc). We do our best to meet our guests' needs, realizing that it is impossible to always bat 1000.

The property was very nice, very peaceful and quiet.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean and we totally appreciated that. BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS. We are use to a king size bed so that was a little inconvenience but we knew this ahead of time. Fishing was slow snagged a couple but never pulled anything in. A big 'nature' issue while fishing is knats. They made you want to give up. We enjoyed the BBQ restaurant on highway 19. It is very good and you get plenty. Thanks for having a home away from home for people to go to. We also enjoyed coming through Helen Ga. on the way. We had lunch there and then stopped there for breakfast on our way home. God Bless

Amazing and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Great comfy cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed. Super cute decor, my daughter had to say goodbye to every bear in our bear themed cabin. I loved the river and privacy. The hosts were so gracious and helpful. We fished, roasted marshmallows, grilled, cooked big breakfasts and relaxed together with no cell service! We WILL be back!!
