About the property

Perfect Weekend Escape Just Two Hours North Of Atlanta

Perfect mountain get-a-way less than 2 hours north of Atlanta. Nestled away between the Chattahoochee National Forest and Lake Nottley sits our 2 bedroom, 1 full-bath cabin. Located just 10 minutes from Blairsville and 30 minutes from Murphy, NC.

Things to do near the cabin: boating, hunting and fishing, boat and jet ski rentals, biking both road and mountain, kayaking, hiking, and horse back riding a mile from the house. There are several Georgia State Parks close by the cabin including Brasstown Bald and Vogel. In addition, there is the newly opened Harrah's Casino in nearby Murphy, NC.

Our cabin offers all of the modern conveniences (dishwasher, Internet, cable TV, and an outdoor grill) as well as a wood burning fireplace in the main area. Our screened in outdoor patio is the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee and a good book while our outdoor deck offers prime star gazing and outdoor dining options. Our full kitchen includes all modern appliances and the ever important coffee pot.

We have owned the cabin for several years and have just now started renting it out to others as we feel our little slice of the mountains should be shared with others. We have two young children who for years have gone off to explore in the woods to find all sorts of interesting plants, insects, trees and animals. They love to go swimming in Lake Nottely which can easily be accessed through a short walk in the woods.

For those of you who own kayaks, canoes, or boats, feel free to bring your vessel and gear and enjoy a day out on the lake. Lake Nottely is known for its stripper and catfish and our kids often catch small white bass with live worms from the banks. Good sunny spots with wind are great fishing spots up there. In addition, please feel free to harvest nice worms from our garden area.

We would love for you to come and stay a while!

Nice, fun weekend stay in a cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Property was clean and had everything we needed. The lake was low which was a bummer, but that's what droughts do. Enjoyed our stay!

The Little Red Cabin tucked in the forest was a great place.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was comfortable and the nice big porch was perfect for morning coffee. Lots of privacy and a quiet place to relax. On early morning walks with the dogs we saw deer and fox. The Fall Leaves were beginning to turn which was beautiful. Lots of trails to hike and Falls to see just a short drive from the cabin. Thanks for the stay!

Incredible Family Vacation!!!!

  • 5 of 5

The lil red cabin was awesome. The place is a great value and pet friendly. It sits in the woods yet 6 miles from downtown Blairsville and only minutes from many lakes. There are Nat'l Forest trails to hike across the road. The owners are so nice to deal with. A great place for a couple or a family with young kids and teenagers.......we had 2 bars on AT&T wireless and their wifi works great.(our 22 yr old college senior loved being able to socialize on media) We are a fishing couple with a 45lb Husky and We WILL Be BACK----their driveway was easy with our 18' boat and saw deer in the yard every day. Thanks!!!

Owner's Response: We can understand that you were upset because your dog did significant damage to our house and we had to keep your deposit to cover a portion of the damage caused by your pet. We hope you will consider kenneling your dog when you stay at a person's rental home in the future.

Lovely & Peaceful accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

We had a short weekend stay, but it was wonderful. Great location, well-maintained cabin and property, comfortable and welcoming! Felt like home away from home, down to the water bowl for the pet! Definitely recommend and would come here again. Waterfalls nearby to see and Vogel State Park is very nice.
