Cozy Home + Garden in the Hills

This tiny home is nestled at the top of the Berkeley Hills, just outside Tilden national reserve, with beautiful views of the bay from the neighborhood. There is a bedroom, bathroom, and central room with kitchenette that covers basic cooking. The space is cozy and fit for a maximum of 2 visitors.

Your yard is fully fenced and private for you and 4 legged friends. Pet visits require a cleaning fee and each pet requires explicit approval at time of booking.
The space
This in-law cottage is the bottom floor of a family home (where we live) and is decorated with plants, books, yoga mats, and comes with a full washer and dryer.

A 30 minute drive from San Francisco you have easy access to adventures in the East, North, and South Bay. We are a 5 minute drive to the Berkeley Rose Garden and Botanical Garden, 6 minutes from the UC Berkeley campus and the Gourmet Ghetto and finally 8 minutes from downtown Berkeley. We walk around the neighborhood everyday and haven’t gotten tired of the woods or views up in the hills.

*not all pets will be a good fit for this home: pets who aren’t house trained (the bedroom has a built in carpet), and high bark sensitivity pups (they will hear far more than the human ear can and we live on the level above you) won’t find ideal comfort here.

*we have a driveway you must walk down on a downward sloping hill, if you have accessibility needs please reach out before booking as we may not be able to support you with a meaningful accommodation.

*this is a pet friendly space: cleaners do an extra deep clean after every pet stay, if you are highly allergic to some sort of pet, please tell us at time of booking

*if you’d like to be downtown or very close to the university search for Airbnb’s near: University Ave, Telegraph Ave, and Shattuck Ave. What attracts visitors is a cozy and quiet nature centric experience in your immediate walkable area.
Guest access
Check in is self service via lockbox. Guests have their own private, gated in, yard.

Dedicated parking is available at the top of our driveway at street level (the driveway is too narrow for cars to fit down!). If you have any issues parking please let us know and we can help you.

The property has access to a garage for storage upon request.

* For same day bookings we require 2 hours between booking and arrival (if you book at 4pm you are welcome at 6pm) to allow adequate time for cleaning and space adjustments.

* The ONLY individuals welcome on the property are those on the booking. This is a small space and a quiet neighborhood, we encourage you find another space that is better suited for entertaining if you need to host humans not on your reservation.

We take the cleaning and sanitizing process seriously: we sanitize all surfaces and linens twice and triple check the space after each cleaning. We honor CDC recommendations for house cleaning.

Please report damages as soon as you notice them, if they require a handyman, we appreciate the chance to know as soon as possible, our space has been booked nearly every night since we opened. Advanced planning is the way we can try to fix the issue for our next visitor!

Whenever we find items that have been left behind: we aim to notify you and save them for your pick up. We assume foods and edible goods left behind are intended to be left and offer them to our cleaners and future guests. Because we have back to back stays, we are not able to promise items will be found or returned. Please do take care of your personal property as we are not responsible for anything that is lost after you’ve vacated the space.

Available with advance request, and explicit written approval:

- Early check in OR delayed check out [up to 2 hours available]: $25 (100% goes directly to our awesome cleaners to thank them for cutting their cleaning window in half)
- Pets who visit: $29 per stay (100% goes to cleaners to allergy clean and deep clean for hair)
- Dedicated parking for more than one car: $10/day
- Order deliveries accepted before you arrive: $5/delivery, we’ve been happy to set up things like flowers, cakes or gifts if you’d like to surprise your co-traveler by sending them to arrive before you do.
