Oldie but a Goodie

  • 5 of 5

I must say that when I first saw the pictures of this place on VRBO I was a little turned off by the decor, but upon arriving and seeing the place with my own eyes I could see that it was quite charming and actually very well maintained. It had a very personal "rustic" touch, and it is really well stocked. We rented this place for a family vacation between Christmas and New Years and it easily accommodated 2 families of four. We had 4 adults and 4 toddlers (between the ages of 2.5 y.o. and 6 y.o.) and we were very comfortable. Though a crib is advertised in the description of the place it's more like a Pack and Play and might be too small for those of you who are still lucky enough to have your 3 year-olds sleeping in an actual crib : ). Despite this minor inconvenience the pluses of this place far outweighed the negatives, but I thought I might mention this for those of you who might be considering this place with youngsters because of the included crib.

The owners of this place were super helpful during the whole process of renting from them, and very responsive to questions all throughout our experience with them. They are definitely hands on with this property and take very good care of it and the people that stay in their unit.

The location was AMAZING! It was literally ~200 yards away from Canyon Lodge making it super easy to have lunch at the condo and walk back for an afternoon ski session. On top of that, we had a few issues getting our toddlers to love ski school so we chose to go sledding on a small hill across the street. Though the highlight for me and my wife was the skiing at Mammoth, my kids by far preferred the sledding we did on off-days from skiing (we skied 2 days and sledded 2 days). FYI sleds were provided. We walked away from this place with tons of memories created for our family and for that we are very grateful.

P.S - Press the button on the fish mounted on the kitchen wall! Tons of laughs and a great way to diffuse a fussy toddler who won't eat his dinner : ).

Amazing condo and ski conditions!!

  • 5 of 5

We are sadly about to leave this condo after one of the best weeks skiing in over 40 years. If you are looking for the Ritz, you might find that in town. If you are looking for the best location on the mountain, million dollar views, a very large, comfortable condo with everything possible you might need for a week of skiing, this is the place. Walk a few steps down the street and you are on your way to the chair lift. It was great for lunch--we came back every day for lunch instead of buying over priced junk food on the hill. Easy in, easy out. If you forgot something, odds are the owners or previous guests have left it for you.

We had the sun deck all to ourselves--it's as big as a full court basketball court. Great for hill and people watching after a hard day of skiing. Great spot for couples or families with kids (both old and young). This is now our number 1 spring break destination and hopefully will be staying here again!!

Perfect group rental

  • 5 of 5

We rented this condo for our family for New Year's. This place really exceeded our expectations and had everything we needed. The view of the snowy mountain was beautiful from the big patio. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, sauna, ping pong table, and fooseball in the club house of the community. The owners even left a stash of ground coffee in the pantry, which was nice in case we hadn't brought our own. The place was clean and in good condition. The kitchen included mostly everything we needed for regular family-sized cooking. Would recommend and return to this place in Mammoth! It's also a close walk to the local bus.

Perfect PreChristmas Setting

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful stay! We enjoyed being greeted by the Christmas bear dressed up for the season! Even after 4 nights in your cosy place, I feel we didn't utilize the whole place (never used the washer/dryer, loved your selection of dvd/movies, and amenities). My son was thrilled there was a rice cooker, and I was glad for the crock pot! Having these extra amenities gave us the homey feeling after full days of skiing. Thank you Becky and Tim for making our stay so enjoyable.

Loved our 3rd stay

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved our 3rd annual stay at this cabin. It's got everything you could possibly need at a prime location. They've upgraded the appliances since our stay last year. You will not be disappointed.

Great location for photographing fall color and comfortable lodging

  • 5 of 5

We three photographers, unrelated, stayed here for 2 nights and found the condo very comfortable. We each had our own bedroom and bath. The owners were excellent to work with, answered my e-mails and calls quickly and my questions thoroughly. They sounded like really nice people over the phone. Checkout is easy and instructions are clear. The location was great for us to travel 1/2 hour up 395 to Mono Lake or south to Bishop and the canyons for the fall color. We only wish we had had more time. We were in the condo only to sleep and used the kitchen only to make coffee in the early morning as we left each day before dawn. The kitchen, if you needed to cook meals, seemed well-equipped. One of my friends noted that it even had a crock pot. We found some good restaurants in Mammoth Lakes. Yes, I would rent the condo again.
