About the property

2 bedroom, loft, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 8; close to shops

My home is a beautiful, nicely equipped 2 bedroom plus loft, 3 bathroom townhome with forced heat that will sleep 8 comfortably. Bedroom one has a king bed, TV, and full bathroom; bedroom two has a queen bed, TV, and full bathroom; loft has 2 trundle beds (4 twin beds) and a 3/4 bathroom in the main living area. The living room has a vaulted ceiling, large couch, wood burning fireplace, HDTV and DVD player with a video library. Off the living room is an extra large deck with a sliver view of the top of Mammoth Mountain. I provide complimentary high speed internet and a laundry facility. There are two parking spaces at the front door where there is a bonus mudroom for all your ski/snowboard gear and equipment. The complex hosts a swimming pool (BBQ grill - summer only), two spas, and sauna. There are two free bus shuttles that take you through the main part of town and to the lifts at Eagle Lodge. About Kevin Grandalski

Mammoth has been a home away from home for me and my family for many years. It all started when I lived in Lee Vining as a child and learned to ski and race at June Mountain. I was fortunate to be able to purchase this home where I taught my four kids to ski. I have hosted a friend/family reunion every July since 1995. If you're here during the 4th and see a big group at the town parade wearing Mammoth Mountain Crew shirts, that's me and all my friends/family. Of course the much needed annual 'guy' ski trip since 1995 with my longtime elementary school friends is well deserved. The drive from where I live in Los Angeles to Mammoth never gets old. For all the miles I have put on the road and have driven by Mount Whitney with many broken promises of reaching the top, I finally did it several years ago. The first time in a day, if you consider 19 1/2 hours 'a day' and the second time over a much easier and more enjoyable 4-day camp out. I open my home for you to create your own memories and hope you enjoy it as much as I do; finding it a place you want to return for all your trips.

Kevin Grandalski purchased this condo in 1995

Why Kevin Grandalski chose Mammoth Mountain

The location of my home was not even a consideration when I began my search. I wanted a 'ski in/ski out' property but just was not real happy with the selection available. When the agent convinced me to look at this property, I fell in love with it. I have since discovered the shuttle bus stop just across the street from my complex up to Eagle Lodge is a great place to start skiing or catch a non-crowded ski/snowboard lesson. I can hop right on Eagle Express (Chair 15) and head over to Canyon Lodge or catch Cloud 9 Express (Chair 9) to head to McCoy Station. Another great feature is everything I need is within walking distance - movie theater, grocery store, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. Around the corner in front of Carl's Jr. is another free shuttle bus stop that makes a loop up to the Village Lodge with stops along the way. I could not have been any happier with this location.

What makes this condo unique

Location, location, location! Regardless of your interest, my home is centrally located to everything - winter or summer. The interior is nicely decorated and very clean. The mudroom is a bonus area to hold all of your gear - bikes, skis, snowboards, fishing poles, rafts or just about anything else you might have. This add on allows for an extra large deck off the living room to hang out on.

Clean, convenient & well-appointed

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect home away from home for our 2 young families (each with a 5 and 3yr old). Great lay out, lots of space, and all the ammentities needed. I especially loved the 'mudroom' entrance for all our wet gear. Owner Kevin was responsive and easy to work with, I hope we get to visit soon again!

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the accommodations and the benefit of having a mudroom for all your wet gear. The ski and snowboard racks along with the boot trays are a great place to store all of your gear. With all these winter storms, there will be plenty of snow for you to enjoy. You're welcome back any time!

Great location and had just about everything we needed.

  • 4 of 5

I say just about everything since the community grill was out of propane and we needed to fill the complex tank ourselves. Maybe a testament to the great grilling weather, since people were grilling every night. Overall a great place within walking distance to the store and several restaurants. Giovanni's and the Mammoth Brewery were great.

Owner's Response: Although I don't have control over the community grill, I do know who to call to freshen up that tank so you don't have to. Just as a reminder, I'm available for anything that comes up during your stay so be sure to reach out. In the near future, I'll have a grill on my deck for guest enjoyment.

Good but hot in July

  • 4 of 5

The condo unit was as described and adequate but did not have A/C which is needed in mid-July. I failed to ask about A/C, assuming it was provided, my error. The main level and especially the loft were extremely hot in the evenings. There is a ceiling fan and fan stand in the loft which only circulated hot air as the opened the door and kitchen window did not produce a good cross breeze. Thankfully, we were out exploring during the day.The unit is spacious, the kitchen well stocked, the bathrooms have been updated, the beds were comfortable, but the carpet is tired. The owner was easy to work with offering local information and assistance with a malfunctioning keyless entry system. This condo complex is conveniently located to a shopping center. Overall, it was good. We loved Mammoth Lakes and surrounding area.

Owner's Response: You're right! July is just about the hottest month of the year. I find it helpful to turn on the central heating, fan only, to help circulate the air throughout the condo. Thank you for pointing out the A/C description, I have updated the description.

Convent & Warm

  • 4 of 5

We like the location as the condo has access to bus transportation to the ski area; walking distance to the grocery store; access to the walking paths. The condo has a home-y feel and luv the skier decorations. We hope to come back each year as a family tradition. Thanks Kevin

Owner's Response: I've been adding to my collection of decorations over the years to give it that mountain resort feel. Stay tuned for landscape photos of the area on your next visit. I've opened my calendar and have started taking reservations for next year. Thank you!
