About Karen Draper
We are a Colorado family who have been vacationing in Mexico for over 30 years. We fell in love with Sayulita more than 20 years ago and were very fortunate to be able to buy our home in 2005. We are so happy to be able to share this magical spot with people from all over the world. Our Casa is our part time home and you will find it has everything you need to feel at home too.
Karen Draper purchased this House in 2005
Why Karen Draper chose Sayulita
Sayulita is a wonderful town and personifies all that we love about Mexico. It is so easy to get to Puerto Vallarta from all over the US and the short drive up the coast sets the scene for the vacation experience. We always feel a thrill when we turn off HWY 200 and make our way under the Sayulita welcome palapa. Less time is spent traveling and more time relaxing. When we first saw the house, we saw its potential, fell in love with the views and saw a garden transformed into a lush tropical respite. We have continued to work on the house since day 1 and our frequent repeat visitors love to see what else is new.

Perfect villa for group tripping
Thank you Bree! It is so good to hear that your vacation was such a success.
We love our home and enjoy sharing it with people from all over the globe who share our love of Sayulita and its many charms.
Needs work
One of the things one learns soon after buying a vacation home in the tropics is that there is always something that needs repair.
And repair we do!
The sewage pipes have all been dug up and replaced within days of discovering the problem. There have been no further issues.
The fabric on the chairs around the pool was replaced and they were back in service on June 13th, before this review was posted.
We plan to replace the faucets soon which involves removing tile and re-plumbing some parts.
It is possible to adjust the temperature with some know how and patience. The Rubic's Cube is beyond me!
I am very sorry that the construction noise impacted our guest's enjoyment. It certainly takes away from the relaxation experience.
We and our wonderful caretakers wish only good experiences for all of our guests and will promptly fix anything within our power to fix.
Maintenance is ongoing as are small improvements we make as time and money permits.
This Sayulita home is our home too, and we love it and hope to be sharing it with happy renters for years to come.
Beautiful by day, extremely loud at night during President's week in Feb
Thanks for the review Amy. You are right; the Sayulita Days celebration is incredibly loud, not just at our house but everywhere in town.
We have neighbors who leave during that time.
I am glad that you enjoyed our comfortable home and I am sorry I did not forewarn you of this yearly assault on the ears.
Please come back at a different time of year.
Karen.
